Tails has been the character with the most voice actors when it comes to the Sonic series. Back in the Adventure titles and Heroes he was voiced by three separate child VAs, but afterwards he began to be voiced by women. His current game VA provided his voice in the film as well.
@Kian Well, first of all. The current voice ACTRESS for Tails has only done like 5 games. And in Adventure, it was actually a kid that did his voice. In Adventure 1 it was Corey Bringas who did Tails' voice, while in Adventure 2 it was his brother, Connor Bringas, because he had gotten older so his voice was a bit deeper.
I'm really surprised they didn't like this because they did like the first one and this was unilaterally better in every aspect in my opinion Maybe because Aaron wasn't here this time and he's the biggest Sonic fan of the group and would be able to point out all the care and love put into the movie
I wouldn't say better, the human aspect (Jim doesn't count as human here) is worse than in the first movie, way worse. And they didn't exactly liked the first movie, they said the same thing as they said here, that it was a dumb movie for kids, it made them laugh a little and had fun reacting to it, but as proper movies both are not great, and depending the perspective, they are not even good.
@@yiledute They're serviceable movies at worst. Just because there's a bunch of CGI creatures running around doesn't detract from that fact, nor does it remove character development, arcs, continuity and everything else that makes them "movies".
I do think Aaron not being here definitely tipped the scales. Rick tends to be quite cynical with a lot of stuff unless he has a preexisting bias towards it, and I think this could have done with Aaron pushing back a bit. Not saying Rick's recurring cynicism is a bad thing outright, there's a few times where it grounds the conversation, but in fun moments like this and a few other reactions (Battle of the Bastards for example) it just kills the hype when the audience and the others in BW are excitedly praising the cool moments then Rick's grumbling about how dumb and boring it was (yeah not gonna say BotB was great writing or whatever, but I enjoyed it for the hype it brought). I dunno, this one also felt like they were enjoying it a lot more throughout the reaction than they ended up saying they did afterwards.
I think this is a perfectly good movie. It’s ridiculous at times but it’s always intentional. From the dance off being the catalyst to Sonic and Tails becoming good friends, to Operation Catfish establishing G.U.N in the franchise to later bring in Shadow. The humor can be hit or miss but what sells this movie are the themes it presents and how it develops Sonic as a character.
I enjoyed the movie alright as a sort of lapsed Sonic fan, but I can't say it's good. =P I feel like too often, people give credit for intention, even if the intention is poorly carried out. Yes, the dance off serves as a means by which Sonic and Tails develop their bond, but there are countless better ways that they could have done that. But they chose a way that they know tracks with younger audiences in the most studio-driven, focus-groupy way possible. Yes, crashing a wedding did establish G.U.N., but in the strangest way possible that makes them look like a complete joke of an organization (which is probably the intention, but it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief). Of course, whether those things resonate with any given viewer is completely subjective. For me, I tolerate those choices rather than like them. As cartoonish as the writing choices are in this movie franchise, it really just makes me wish even more than they just made it an animated franchise, because then at least those choices would be more congruent with the presentation.
They say they didn't like this movie but throughout the reaction it looks like they had a blast and enjoyed it. They were smiling, laughing, writing stuff down and commenting on it so it must have entertained them somewhat lol.
Yeah, I was confused by that take. Like they seemed to have a smile on their faces for most of the reaction. Feel like if I movie is consistently making you smile and laugh, you can't really say its that bad
@@Cazammaf The only people who truly bother me are the people who say that this movie was somehow "boring." In what universe was this movie "boring?" That's literally the worst thing that anyone could say about a movie.
@@dlbyrd-gasca2730 I know yeah, there's something happening at all points. It's perfectly paced with action scenes, humour and some backstory and human moments. Okay mayyyyybe the wedding scene went on a bit too long lol but still, there was so much going on. If anybody has ever been a fan of sonic or has played a sonic game, they will love this movie. Even for those that don't know what or who sonic is, there's no reason not to like the movie.
I'll always love Blind Wave's deep cut reactions, but Rick can be such a wet blanket sometimes. It always surprises me how much people who watch this movie fail to acknowledge it's a movie catered to all ages, but most importantly including kids. They act like lighthearted moments and humor are the end all of film or something. Not everything has to be so serious.
I loved all the callbacks to Sonic X in this movie. Knuckles power bumping the baseball, Sonic v Knuckles with barrage of punches, Sonic in the tree, Sonic stopping the giant robot fist with COMPLETE ease....it's incredible that all these easter eggs feel REALLY natural rather than forced.
All the references felt so nice to pick up on too, like how the helicopter near the end had SA-2 on it, Sonic Adventure 2 was the first game GUN was in and also.. Sonic jumped out a helicopter to kick it off.. and Mean Bean coffee referenced Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean machine :D
Really sad to see they didn’t really like this movie compared to the first. Personally, I thought this move was better than the first in almost every single way. More sonic characters, more sonic lore, homages to past levels, action, emotion, and super sonic, along with shadow reveal at the end with the 3rd movie being much darker. Rick saying this is one of the worst movies ever made is a massive leap for this movie. Is this a great movie? No, as while I was fine with most scenes, some of the human scene were ridiculous that I can see why it brings it down. Sometimes the humor can be hit or miss, but I generally enjoyed most of them. But saying this is one of the WORST movies ever made? That’s just a really bad take, and I think everyone can agree on that. For being “childish” it talked about some darker themes than the first, like saying that not only is Longclaw confirmed dead, all of Knuckles’ kind is also dead, and that the master emerald can give someone power to rule the galaxy/universe, so the stakes are higher than the first. Really thought they would like this movie, since the stuff they kept in they seemed to enjoy it a lot. Sorted disappointed, but good reaction like always.
"He has guns" "He's very edgy...edgelordy" You're thinking of the wrong Shadow bro, that's what they turned him into trying to make him cooler (which was unneeded). The real Shadow the Hedgehog is the one in Sonic Adventure 2, Heroes and 06
We unfortunately don't know if he is thinking of the "wrong" Shadow. As much as I lothe the edgey version, shadow has recently been portrayed as an edgehog and while I hope for dear life that they use the original Adventure Shadow personality for movie 3, there is still some possibility that we'll be stuck with the ruined modern version.
@@WolforNuva let us hope they go with the adventure version of him, Shadow has always been my favourite character and I'm very hoping for the emotionally complexity not the edgelord
@@WolforNuva well they handled knuckles well and brang back the older version of him and not the modern "haha I puch tings and I'm te butt of jokes and relly dum" version of knuckles
@@royaljudge8477 Not quite imo. The Knuckles I saw was a mix of old and new, dumber than how I remember him but never too dumb or at his expense to make the character himself a joke. But true they have shown to be respectful to the characters.
@@WolforNuva I don't think knuckles was dumb in this movie. He's just out of his element. I mean knuckles has always been naive and gullible in the games
I feel like the reaction highlights don’t seem to capture how they feel about the movie, Rick laughed at like every joke in the highlight and said loads of things were cool then the first thing he says after it finished is that it’s the worst movie he’s ever seen?? I feel like I’ve missed something somewhere Lmao
What an odd reaction to a sonic movie. What were they expecting? Complaining that the humor is silly? Of course it is, it's sonic! Does exactly as its supposed to do. A light, humorous and nostalgic movie.
Rick is the kind of man that hates almost everything that doesn't cater to his very specific tastes, but those things that do he will praise to the moon.
I keep an open mind and I can tell out of all the stories I've read, Movies and anime and tv shows I've watched, Hunter X Hunter is one of the greatest if not the greatest things I've ever witnessed and has the privilege to experience.
It's weird watching them fangirl over the Flash, Book of Bobba, Obi Wan and stuff, and them have the balls to say that THIS is the worst movie ever. Really? It's not the best movie obviously, but the worst guys? And them pretend to be movie critics, talking about the quality of the cgi, shot composition and Plot dymanic. It seems they went into it expecting to hate it and look for every excuse to do so
was never a fan of the games and haven't watched any of the newer cartoons last one I watched was Sonic X and before that was the one with Sally Acorn in it and Underground but I like these movies because of how they honor the history so well
This movie is better than the first one imo because it actually brings in more stuff from the sonic games and truly makes it feel like a sonic movie rather than just a roadtrip movie with just sonic in it which is what the first one basically was
Yeah that was my (and many others from what I've seen) main complaint with the first movie, it was fun but it was just a movie with Sonic in it, nothing special. This time they actually made a Sonic movie, changing things in adaption so the story isn't the same as the games, but it still feels faithful and respectful to the source. I know I'm in the minority (at least the vocal minority) here, but I didn't even think the human scenes went on too long either. They were still short enough to keep me entertained through them, and it honestly would have felt out of place to use them any less since they were fully established in the first movie.
I was groaning at the thought of it when I saw it in theaters, but then as soon as I saw the whole thing was a setup and not just an excuse for ~drama!~, I was totally on board.
I'm sad that the character in the end credits scene is just seen as edge-y these days. I hope the next movie does him justice and restores his character like how Amy did for him in SA2.
Sonic Adventure 2 was my shit. I played on Gamecube and personally it's one of if not, the best Sonic game i've ever played. And yes, I agree. Shadow is a freakin boss and my favorite character in the Sonicverse.
This movie is 100% better than the 1st and the sales say otherwise but if you don't know alot about sonic lore don't bother watching cause you won't know what's going on
The absolute best part of of the love was when I saw this in theaters literally all the kids lost their minds when they saw shadow. I don’t know why but it warmed my heart.
@@TeenPerspektiva Characters In-Depth actually did a video explaining how Shadow originally (the way I was introduced to him) was not an edge lord. I highly recommend it if you like sonic character discussions.

Is it still popular among the youth? *sips brandy Totally fine that you didn’t like the movie. If you’re not into Sonic the movie is definitely not for you. Hope you guys eventually get a video game movie that you can enjoy. Meanwhile I will continue writhing in excitement that Shadow is in the next movie.
Sonic Is Never Supposed To Be Serious because of how laid back sonic is. To me this movie is exactly what sonic is meant to be and that is good enough for me to say this is a amazing movie
Is this a great movie? No, absolutely not. But it's a fun movie. And that's all I need from a movie like this. And yes, some of the human-stuff went on for way to long. But all the Sonic-stuff, was really fun. I just hope they can get Jim Carrey back as Robotnik as he's one of the best parts in this movie.
Shadow isn’t edgy but he’s a complicated character with a rough past, which I’m pretty sure will be explained in the third film. As a huge Sonic fan who grew up with the classic games and the Adventure titles I personally enjoyed the movie much more than the first one.
Shadow both is and isn't edgy. While I personally only try to focus on the well written and actually enjoyable version of the character, it still isn't right to say the version of Shadow that's appeared within the most recent games and media doesn't exist.
This is probably the best Video game to Movie adpation I've ever, they stay as close as possible to video games lore, and also giving something new, and it's also a superior sequel, the only think I didn't like in the movie was the wedding subplot, those scenes were so out place and cringey.
I think those scenes were put in the movie in order to introduce G.U.N to the audience since there might be a huge chance that G.U.N might show up in the 3rd movie.
Huhh? One of the worst movies you ever seen? So bad it’s good?? Now I know ya are on some kind of drugs today. It was genuinely a fine movie. It wasn’t great it barely had actually good moments. It overall was fine. Couldn’t even call it bad. Tho there was bad moments. Can’t say this movie is bad in fact it’s better than the first.
@@harold3165 well, I don't like the movie Titanic but I must admit it's unbelievably good. Just because you don't like a movie it doesn't mean it's not objectively good or well done (and viceversa). I love this movie and thought it was better than the first. Mainly, with the addition of Tails and Knuckles, it felt more like what I assume the cartoon and game feels. I have not played the games or watched any of the cartoons. As someone who doesn't know the lore of where this can go, I can't wait for the third movie.
A shame you guys didn't like it as much. Personally I loved this movie more than the first one. There was a bunch of stuff for Sonic fans in this movie and I'm guessing theyre going to add even more in Sonic 3.
Understandable that you'd be confused about Knuckles putting the Master Emerald back together. I myself am not very knowledgeable about Sonic lore but I do remember that the Master Emerald is a separate entity from the Chaos Emeralds and it does occasionally shatter but then fixes itself over time. The movie just wanted to call back to that.
you are right that the master emerald is separate from the chaos emeralds but knuckles due to being the guardian of it has extra abilities one of these abilities is to reforge it if it breaks he’s done it plenty of times and being that his people forged it in the first place in the movie universe its kinda understandable why he would be able to put it back together.
Remember when we all thought they couldn’t make Knuckles sound sexy, than we found out Idris Elba was voicing him? Good times. In all seriousness, while I’ve become fine with Knuckles being a meathead in most of the recent Sonic games and the Sonic Boom show, I love the badass and serious version of him he started off as. I especially love his Sonic X iteration since, while ruthless, he can be pretty chill and takes his job of protecting the master emerald seriously.
While I think you could argue that the dance battle and wedding scenes went a little too long, I think this movie is about as good as the first movie. I don't really know what Rick was smoking before recording.
I think the wedding scenes were put in the movie so G.U.N can be introduced to the audience since there might be a huge chance that G.U.N is in the 3rd movie due to Shadow being one of the US Government's secret projects.
Man it's weird seeing you guys love the most divisive stuff sometimes but then not liking the most universally liked stuff. For once I think it def would have been better if Aaron was around to help you guys understand the love and care put into this silly and funny movie.
Already said my piece so I won't belabor the point, but I think y'all just are on a different wavelength from the intended audience for this film. It doesn't make your opinions wrong per se, it's just a perspective thing. I had issues with the film but nothing that was a dealbreaker and definitely not "worst movie ever" lol
I understand others not caring much about the wedding scenes, but to me, it's actually admirable when you realized the reason behind it all. Tika Sumpter and Natasha Rothwell wanted bigger parts in Sonic. For better or worse, director Jeff Fowler wanted to please his cast and crew as much as he wanted to please the fans. Massive props to you, Jeff. Keep being awesome.
How is giving random actors more screen time admirable. A longer maze scene with Sonic would’ve made the movie so much better and more admirable to people watching the movie lol
@@kobemarion1137 no, he's right. It IS admirable to care about your cast, but trying to please them when it's a detriment to the movie - that's just not great.
Yeah I don't think this is admirable, not when it makes a movie worse. Like yeah, it's cool that he wants to keep his cast happy like that, but at the same they're there to make the best possible movie, so many movies have huge actors that have their scenes end up not even being in the film because the directors and editors realize that the scenes make the overall film worse, and it's better to preserve the quality of the film than keep some cast members happy. I loved this film, but these wedding scenes needed to be shortened and trimmed a lot.
Yeah, i actually didn't have any problems with the weddding scene, nor did I think anyone else did, and I also especially liked Rachel's Rampage as well
I think expecting anything more from a Sonic movie is just a little foolish, the movie is obviously aimed towards a younger audience and the games themselves never took themselves particularly seriously. I will agree that some of the jokes were a little much, mainly some of the Robotnik ones where he kinda drifts for a while, not to mention the whole marriage plotline and dance-off... But for the most part I think the film's rather enjoyable and a heap of fun.
Well to be fair the dancing scene is a trait of Sonic's personality. He's an outgoing kid with tons of personality. It was silly but enjoyable aspect as they're showing all his traits in this film
I'm always surprised at how these 2 movies are so much better than they should be. I can't decide if it bugs me or tickles me that this film seems to take a break from being a Sonic movie and decides to be a Disney Channel quality romantic comedy for a bit, then remembers it's a video game film again. I swear Operation Catfish is one of the hardest, least expected left turns I've experienced in a movie.
I actually think this is one of the best movies of the year. I’m really surprised that Blind Wave didn’t like it at all, because the movie manages to improve upon the first in many ways like what every good sequel does and SHOULD do. I hope Eggman does come back, besides the people behind these movies clearly listened to what people wanted from Sonic movies and we got just that in this, as I did too.
Its not surprising considering if you aren't sonic fan its just a generic action comedy about a talking hedgehog. Sure the movie is better than the first but that isn't a very high bar to pass.
@@johnman8398 Even if let's say that I wasn't a Sonic fan, I'd still consider this to be an above average sequel! I think your standards are just way too high, especially for these types of movies.
@@dlbyrd-gasca2730 I as a sonic fan am able to admit that this movie is mostly mediocre cause I'm able to separate my bias when critiquing it. My standards aren't high perhaps you have low standards? @@johnman8398 True, but I'm just saying that you're judging this movie too harshly. That's my opinion. I don't think I have low standards, but maybe when compared to yours they are a bit low.
As a Sonic fan I personally really enjoyed this movie, even if it had some comedy that was more aimed for children I really enjoyed watching it as an adult. I liked the first movie and I thought it was good (despite the flossing), but I did enjoy the second movie better. I have no clue if that is because of the amount of references in this movie, the fact that they got the actual voice actress for Tails, or the fact that the Chaos emerald (or the master emerald) was in the movie. I just generally liked how it added to the plot of the movies. In the first movie we see Sonic learning to bring attention to himself and not hide in fear constantly and not to be lonely and make friends. He learnt to protect others. In the second movie we see that last part go to heart for him, trying to be a vigilante of sorts (I know he wants to be a hero but still, bringing the law into your own hands has always been a vigilante thing, even if you have powers), Sonic tries to be a hero and learns what it means to actually be a proper hero. He protects his friends, he protects the innocent. I love how they went with Eggman becoming more and more unstable as he was on a mushroom planet for several months, maybe even years (I don't really remember if they said that in the money though, was a while since I watched it). I love that they brought up Super Sonic into the last scenes of the movie, showcasing perfectly the power that the Chaos emeralds have. For Eggman it was destructive, for Sonic it was something else entirely. I understand others opinions about this movie though, like the wedding scene. Even if I did like the human involvement in this movie (what with the wedding scene and everything). I feel like the human involvement in the Sonic movies have always been nice because it adds a certain element to the movies like Sonic X did. Even if the humans never really appeared that much people have to understand that this movie is literally named Sonic the Hedgehog, it is supposed to focus more on Sonic himself, not his friends. Furthermore, the people who state the child humor threw it off for them, the Sonic franchise have always been for kids, it has never been for adults. You have literally never seen any characters die gruesomely in a Sonic game before, sure there have been some dark tones in Sonic games but they never really delved too far into those dark tones, always keeping them in the perfect zone for children. Also adding to this that Sonic has always been a laid back character that barely takes anything seriously in serious situations, he has always been comedic and childish. After stating all this, I would personally give my own opinion of this movie: It is amazing, sure not a masterpiece, but amazing. It was perfect for us Sonic fans and is definitely the best gaming movie franchise out there for me. Sure movies like Wreck it Ralph and Pixels exist, but they were never really that great in my eyes, they were just good movies in general but not amazing. For the people who took time reading this long comment (sorry about that, I love writing paragraphs of text) thank you very much for taking time off of your day to read this comment, have a nice day.
I’m surprised they didn’t like it that much. I loved this movie especially the battles like the Death Egg mech showdown at the end. Jim Carrey’s Robotnik was of course hilarious the whole time as well. Yeah I concede some parts like the dance off are just dumb (but meant to be) and the wedding scene dragged on too long making the audience feel like they are watching another movie. Overall though it’s a lot of fun.
some of the animators that worked on sonic unleashed in the super sonic cutscenes actually worked on the super sonic scene here. Also I wish they had time to cover chaos but maybe they can do that at a later time if the movies last long enough
I love this movie WAY more than the first one. Knuckles being the equivalent of drax is so much fun and definitely was the highlight of the film. Don't know why it kept cutting back to the human character so.
I genuinely enjoyed this movie. I felt it was an upgrade fron the first one with callbacks to both the game and shows that that also felt like its own thing. I think my one complaint would be the like "only sonic the hedgehog cpuld do/say/think of something like that." This got annoying very quickly for me but other than that it was a goofy, fun, and overall enjoyable movie.
I think if you don't like this movie, you're kind of out of touch with your inner child. It's not a "great movie" as in, thought provoking with stellar writing and acting, but for a Sonic movie, that isn't necessary. Sonic is a character that's fast, likes to explore and save people, and knock on Robotnik/Eggman. Knuckles is a naïve warrior that trusts too easily and puts honor and respect above everything. Tails is a gadgeteer that was bullied for his two tails and never really had a friend. Robotnik is a backstabbing genius idiot that wants to take over the world. This movie shows that PERFECTLY. Like to a fucking T. The one thing that detracts slightly is that the wedding stuff goes on a bit too long but as it is setup for not only the finale, but also for G.U.N. existing which leads to the reveal of Shadow existing, I think it also deserves a pass. It's not like it wasn't funny.
The movie is very much for kids and die hard sonic fans. But a review from a 5 year old my son was losing his damn mind seeing this in the theater. His awe and joy was amazing to watch
Kind of sad y'all didn't enjoy this movie, I will admit it was a lot of silly fun, but it was pretty faithful to the series as far as tone and spirit. Cause ultimately, the target audience for the series ARE kids. You DO honestly need to have some history with the games and their stories to better understand some of the plot points, but still, hearing it be called so dumb, honestly hurts a little bit. Only because I've honestly been tired of having Sonic be associated with "it's all stupid" for so long. I get that they probably mean "dumb in a fun way", but for so long I've heard it be counted as "dumb in a bad way" and it just get's tiring after so long. The easiest way to think of the Emeralds in this is to think of them like the Chaos Emeralds themselves had power, and the Master Emerald is the "safe" that held them, at this point even though they're separated, due to all of them being one thing in the movie lore, the Master Emerald most likely just inherited some of that residual power, basically like radiation or, like how it's depicted, it being electrically charged with Chaos power. Plus the whole "turn thoughts into power" thing, surprisingly the games have never really dove into the full meaning of that even though it's been said a bunch of times, it's been slightly explored in stuff like the comics and such, but the games it's mostly just an excuse for a "ultimate prize for being so good at the game, now you can steamroll it" kind of thing, or just an excuse to explain "the Chaos Emeralds can do anything". Also, I wouldn't count Snow Dogs as a better movie than this. It's alright but I wouldn't give it that high of praise. I agree with Aaron. The group at the start were not in the games, they were made for the movie. To be fair, Sonic used a lot of energy just making it to an island that was only a few miles away. Over huge crashing waves, which is the most realistic as to what actually happens out in the middle of the ocean when it's stormy. Plus I doubt he would know which direction the mainland would be, he seemingly only knows of Green Hills and Seattle, I doubt he's that good at geography since it's only been a year since the last movie. Not to mention look how tired he was dealing with the giant robot when he got to the bridge, he was very worn out. And yeah, while super speed can solve anything, he wouldn't be that much of a good guy if he just darted off towards Green Hills and left Knuckles on the island for Tails to bring him in, especially since he just offered him friendship.
Don't be sad as its their opinion, if they feel that way about it then you shouldn't let it affect you. The thing you got to understand is that if you aren't a sonic fan this is just an okish action comedy, its kinda similar in quality to movies like smurfs or hop, You know a white guy and a talking animal go on wacky adventures and hilarity ensues. Its ok to like meh movies just understand that not everyone is gonna share the same sentiment.
There were actually two 'de way' jokes, from what I recall. One at the start as edited in following Eric's comment, and then were was one a lot later on.
If Calvin is confused by Sonic turning into a werewolf, then no one should tell him about the time he fought the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table
We finallly got an answer to what Super Eggman would be. Jom Carrey said this is his last film. If that's true, his last words, on-screen, will be "Later, hater!".
Makes sense they didn't like it because they aren't really Sonic fans to begin with, like at all. This movie is heavily boosted in enjoyablility when your a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, even if only by a little. Should've been an Aaron only reaction.
I took my younger siblings to see this at the local theatre I work at when it came out and it was packed so I had to help with concessions to ease the load on our workers and didn’t really get to watch a good chunk of the movie BUT my highlight(other than Jim) was hearing Walk by Pantera come on and I couldn’t help but wonder if any of the kids in the packed theatre became metal fans…I can only hope lmaooo
Whether you like or don't like the wedding scene, I think we can all agree that it was amazing that Jeff Fowler took the time to listen to what the actors wanted and applied it to the movie.
About why there's a storm out of nowhere when sonic runs on water, that's because of the master emeralds emerging from underwater with that beacon of light. Makes sense to me, since later Robotnic creates a tornado with it.
I never realized how similar to DBZ Sonic is: Sonic - Goku Tails - Krillen Knuckles - Piccolo Shadow - Vegeta Amy - Chi Chi Rouge - Bulma Chaos Emeralds- Dragon Balls and Sonic basically goes Super Saiyan 🤔.
One thing that isn't explained well in the movie (probably intentionally as a setup for movie 3) is that the 'Master Emerald' is separate from the Chaos Emeralds, and acts more like a control unit or emergency off switch for the 7 emeralds. So in short, you see Sonic send the chaos emeralds away, while Knuckles rebuilds the Master Emerald without all the unlimited power.
It's such a damn shame you guys didn't like the sequel as I thought you guys would at the end. Oh well at least as a big Sonic fan, I LOVED nearly everything about.

Well, not all of them. Only since Sonic Colors & Sonic Free Riders in 2010.

The humor can be hit or miss but what sells this movie are the themes it presents and how it develops Sonic as a character.
more like a perfectly bad movie lol
@@ricardomartinez479 I don’t know how serious you want a sonic the hedgehog movie to be, but this film is pretty good aside from the wedding stuff
@@ricardomartinez479 you definitely haven't watched the movie smh
I agree 👍

I'll always love Blind Wave's deep cut reactions, but Rick can be such a wet blanket sometimes.
Yea
All the references felt so nice to pick up on too, like how the helicopter near the end had SA-2 on it, Sonic Adventure 2 was the first game GUN was in and also.. Sonic jumped out a helicopter to kick it off.. and Mean Bean coffee referenced Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean machine :D

This movie is great and Idris Elba is soooo good as Knuckles. Excited for more from the sonic franchise!

As someone who wasn't a fan of the 1st one, I loved this sequel
For the people who took time reading this long comment (sorry about that, I love writing paragraphs of text) thank you very much for taking time off of your day to read this comment, have a nice day.

dr. robotnik - "yes"
Jim Carrey continues to be the best part of these movies
IKR
True, true.
No, they sure as hell aren't out of touch with their inner child haha. You don't need to make things bad and stupid etc in order it to be child-like.
@@johnman8398 I don't know if I'd compare it to those other ones, even barring the Sonic specific aspects.
@@toonman5099 In terms of quality I'd say its an apt comparison (outside of CGI).
@@johnman8398 People are allowed to criticize their opinions, just the same as people are allowed to not like the movie. You're being hypocritical
@@jessequeen4550 At no point did I say they weren't allowed to criticise their opinion so idk what nonsense you are on about.
Idris Elba as Knuckles and Jim Carrey are my favorite parts of this movie.
I loved the wedding scene honestly 😂
Just for Rachel on her revenge path ❤️
The best thing about these sonic movies is they feel like goofy childrens movies from the mid 90’s. Very nostalgic awesomeness
Shame you didn't like it, I thought there was a lot of cool Sonic lore stuff in there
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is one of the best movies of 2022, and I'm still so happy I got to do a video chat with Colleen Villard (who voices Tails)!!!
14:55
Rick and Calvin- (appreciating the finer details of the man)
Eric- I both don't know what to say or have anything too say.
This is too funny. 😂
If i remember correctly the reason the wedding scene was so long was because those 2 actors requested to have more in the film
Whether you like or don't like the wedding scene, I think we can all agree that it was amazing that Jeff Fowler took the time to listen to what the actors wanted and applied it to the movie.
Surprised you didn't like it. This movie is better than the first in every way imo. Makes me super excited for the third movie.
4:32 Eggman: I'll be happy to show you the way.
Knuckles: You know da wae?
(At 25:47) Shadow: Hold on was THAT Chaos Control?
4:30 I still can't believe they did a freaking Ugandan Knuckles meme reference in this movie!
In the words of Harrison Ford: "It's not that kind of movie"
The Sonic fandom was NOT happy with this reaction
They don't seem to remember all the sonic lore that they think they do.
(At 3:38) Robotnik must be a fan of the Evil Dead franchise.
Or classic scifi, since that's where Evil Dead got it from ;)
About why there's a storm out of nowhere when sonic runs on water, that's because of the master emeralds emerging from underwater with that beacon of light. Makes sense to me, since later Robotnic creates a tornado with it.
To make matters worse they made that annoying comment during one of the most epic shots of the whole entire movie.
I never realized how similar to DBZ Sonic is:
Sonic - Goku
Tails - Krillen
Knuckles - Piccolo
Shadow - Vegeta
Amy - Chi Chi
Rouge - Bulma
Chaos Emeralds- Dragon Balls
and Sonic basically goes Super Saiyan 🤔.
The real sad thing about this movie it makes me wonder:
Is this REALLY going to be the last movie Jim Carrey's going to be on before his retirement?
It was decently rated and well received by the target audience, so it wouldn't be the worst thing. I doubt it's going to be his last tho.
Well he was outspoken about fat egg man for the third movie. So he’ll probably return if only for the sequels
