Thanks for the shoutout Mike!! Those really were some huge slicker. We’ll be doing the same thing this weekend. Want to try putting jigs and sabikis behind planer boards below the dam. Should be fun!!!!!
When I was a kid we could fish off that walk way that led up to the dam for catfish sauger walleye and skipjack it was a blast can't do that now ruined a memory I wanted to unlock this year but hey glad they are still there
@@GreenwellFishing I need all the help and info I can get from guys like you. I've fished with jigs all my life just for crappie and saugeye and bass. I'm sure I can catch some if they're there.
2week of April thru the 2nd week of May usually are best, But they can be caught earlier and later, in spring also. They show back up thick September and October
@@GreenwellFishing No only lakes here with no discharges. Sometimes early morning and late night the shad will come up shallow so I can catch them with throw net
Man that’s some action. I use same basic setup pink jigs and white curl tails. Now it’s time to chop em up and feed the monsters.
Yes sir. Can't wait to get back at it this weekend

I'm new to skipjack and I'm wondering when is the best time of the year to catch them
2week of April thru the 2nd week of May usually are best, But they can be caught earlier and later, in spring also.

I live in Newburgh! Do you ever guide?
No I do not, contact @rivercityguideservice for local or @hooked on cats guide service for the Paducah area
Go triple!
man you get some for both of us lol
Lol I did.
oh newburg dam
You think a person would do any good this Saturday there with the river coming up.
I wish we had skipjack here.
They are fun
@@GreenwellFishing We have gizzard shad but they get hard to catch without a boat
Definitely, do you have any discharges you can spot from the bank
@@GreenwellFishing No only lakes here with no discharges. Sometimes early morning and late night the shad will come up shallow so I can catch them with throw net
Sometimes boat ramps are good also
😉😁
Yes sir.
I would think they would be there but this 10' river rise might hurt it
Why stick your rod into the water when you have a fish on?
Those Skipjack like to jump outta the water and try to spit the hook, so I try to keep them as deep as possible until I bost flip them
