Hello, I love my Tat 70, along with the other 11 various Tatula's I own, I have primarily used Daiwa reels since the mid 70's as a teen. My first Tatula was the very first one I held onto at the tackle shop. I wasn't walking out without it... lol Reputable company and product in my opinion anyway... I broke down and bought a Shimano TranX 400 last year for 1 of my Musky casting rods, there are a lot of people that use that reel for Musky, so I wanted to see what all the buzz was about. It is a good reel; however, I do like my Daiwa Lexa 400XS-P better... It has better grips on the handle. Tight Lines!!
Nice review👍 For 1/3 oz to 5/8 oz lures - true weight - (senkos, spinnerbaits, squarebills …) on 10lb to 12 lb fluorocarbon and a medium power / med-fast carbon-composite 7’7” rod , would you recommend this SV TW 70 or the slightly bigger SV TW 103 ? Take care
Hey man I would get the sv tw 103 for that!!! I use the 70 for the very lower end of that spectrum about exclusively but bombing 1/2oz and up the 103 shines. I also love the 103 for 3/8 spinnerbaits
The jdm market doesn't have that model, that's a US model reel but they do have the alpha sv tw which alot similiar. Maybe you should pick that one up since you like that tatula sv 70.
Explains why I never saw it for sale on the sites. I did have my eye on the alpha sv for the LONGEST. At the end of the day, I told myself no…. I have enough… for now lol. Thanks for the info!
Hey mike! So I have a great hands on opinion with it seeing as I use them for these two rods that fire out both finesse and standard size baits great! I would say 1/4 oz to 3/4 is absolutely money. When I use it casting paddle tails with jigheads it will absolutely bomb them. I also fish 1/4oz Spinnerbaits (no trailer) and Crankbaits with this reel and it is awesome! Weightless plastics will be fine. I’ve found if you want to go under 1/4, an entry level bfs reel like the shimano slx bfs takes the cake. But this reel casts 1/4 and 1/3 better than anything I’ve seen personally under $400. Grab and go, maybe a few dials on the brake. Wayyyyyy easier to switch baits and get dialed in faster compared to my shimanos
Sorry for the delay just getting to these comments. I feel like it could, but a reel made for bfs would be much better. This is more of a general purpose reel, on the smaller side compact wise. A shallow spool mod would make it money for that though. I would pick a shimano bfs for 1/10 ned!
Hey man! The rods I have paired with them are the Phenix x10 composite crankbait rod, and the alpha angler clutch. The x10 is a great 1/3 to 3/8 ounce crankbait rod. The clutch is a unique 7’5 medium action rod that has a lot of backbone. I center the clutch around 1/4-3/8 oz ball head jigs with keitechs. It is the best rod out there for that. If you fish stuff like that, I tell everyone they need that alpha angler clutch. It is the best rod ever for highland reservoirs
@@nikimran8769 I would only do 5g+ with this reel. Less than 5g I would look into the BFS daiwa air reels. The tatula 70 sv would need a spool replacement to be most efficient for 3g
That reel handled that wind incredibly. Great review of sick gear. You like some quality reels, dude.
New subb to the channel, from NJ.
Thanks for the sub, following you right back soon as this comment sends! This reel is definitely money!!!

Lexas are rock solid!!! Glad you love that reel, and the tatulas too! The 70 is perfect for when I go “beefy finesse” 😂🔥 tight lines brotha 👍👍👍😎
The 70 Tatula or the shallow spool Metanium for distance and control which one do you like
Metanium does everything better in comparison!
Nice review👍

@@TheUltralightLife That's hard to do, telling myself no-lol! I always lose that battle. :)
What do you think the optimal range is the weight of the lures those reels can handle? Also, look forward to the rod reviews!

@@TheUltralightLife - dude, I hear the enthusiasm in your response!!! Thanks and keep up the good work!
@@mike2687 thanks brother I really appreciate it. Much more to come! Take care and I hope you have a great weekend!
@@TheUltralightLifewhat type and size line would you reccomend?
You feel like this reel can throw 1/10 Ned rigs ?

Light and solid.
Most definitely! Thanks for watching!
Hi! Thanks for sharing this video man. What rods do you pair them with?

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely check this gear out.
da radę z jigiem 20g?
It will handle that!
Super.......
Thank you!!
Reel is great, but the rod tip is real lazy with this light weight. Have most Tatula sw tw on fast rods, that put you of this planet 😎
It’s a glass crankbait rod, for crankbaits. It’s supposed to be like that.
Hard to fish in high winds.
Definitely. A huge different in the glass boat versus my little buggy rig and my old boats. Still, was a bit much lol
can it cast 3 gram lure?
Without a spool modification, I would go with a bfs reel instead like the alphas air line.
so means it can cast a 3 gram lure without any problem what so ever is it?

You're a beast
That’s you bruh. I only bench half pound spots on 1 pound of drag 😂
