- Created during a pandemic, these videos help connect our families, artists and communities around core Tewa values. We acknowledge life expression and lessons in the creation of pottery. The clay vessels remind us of our pathway and the values that keep us healthy as a people.
We are thankful to the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) Community Loans program for supporting these videos. Visit the Poeh Cultural Center to see "Di Wae Powa" They Came Back, a historic Tewa pottery exhibition on long-term loan from NMAI.
The Poeh Cultural Center mission is to be "a gathering place for the respectful sustaining of Tewa traditions through being, doing & sharing." The Tewa-speaking communities of New Mexico are the Pueblos of Pojoaque, San Ildefonso, Ohkay-Owingeh, Santa Clara, Tesuque and Nambe. The Poeh is located and operated by the Pueblo of Pojoaque.
