My grandfather is 98 yes old. He smokes 2 packets of cigarettes a day, has a beer or two after dinner daily, goes to bed at 10pm and is up by 5am to prep for his morning walk. He has two meals a day, breakfast & dinner, always keeps himself busy and is full of humour. Bless him 🙏

The research Bryan Johnson is doing is truly incredible. Man is doing a huge service to humanity by spending his own money and using his own body as a ginny pig to figure out scientific and medical breakthroughs of how to be the healthiest you can possibly be, slow down aging and the breaking down of the body, stop diseases etc. and to live the longest healthiest best possible life one can live.
I applaud him. I just wonder how much can be gleaned from a single case study, especially taking over 120 supplement pills a day. How to determine what works and what doesn’t? And we have to wait quite a while to see how long he actually lives.
This man is a revolutionary, getting enough sleep, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and eating a healthy diet. I salute him for boldly going where no person has gone before. I think with his revolutionary approach, blue sky thinking and unorthodox tactics he may live to be 2, possibly 3 hundred years old.

The red meat part I'm not super sure about. Red meat is usually high in saturated fats which are linked to higher ldl and vldl cholesterol. I like red meat personally I'm just not sure about saying to eat a lot of it is good for longevity.

I couldn’t find any study’s that show dangers of smoking a cigarette once a week. Every study I found that compared light/casual smoking to regular smoking considered 1-5 per day to be a “light smoker”. But for cigars theres some studies that show 1 per week is negligible. Be careful not to inhale tho bc 1 cigar has the nic of a pack of cigarettes but bc you don’t inhale, you’re not really getting most of that. In reality you’re actually absorbing the same amount of nicotine from 1 cigar as you do from 1 cigarette. About 1.5mg.

My father was a battalion chief, never smoked a cigarette in his life, ran marathons in His 30s, was a semi pro soccer player , never ate fast food. Died when he was 56, of a heart attack. His mother, smoked and drank every day, worked her entire life, traveled and enjoyed life till her death… at 81… someone tell me the reasoning of that…because 18 years later, I still can’t figure out, How my father and grandmother died a year apart…

I watched a story about a lady who turned 100 who drank hot Doctor pepper every single day. Or the oldest living wwII vet who died a couple years ago smoked 3-5 cigars a day for 60 years. Also read a story about a runner, who was extremely healthy and died at 62 years old. There’s no secret to extra long life, you can go at any moment. Not saying to smoke meth and eat cheeseburgers but you can do everything right and still die early.
Yep, I got a good friend that I met when we worked together about 10yrs ago. He'd have his packed lunch of cheese in pitta bread and carrot sticks. He didn't drink alcohol or smoke. I'd have a KFC or Mc'Ds and smoked at the time and I drink but not heavily. He'd say that rubbish will kill you. He now has bone and lung cancer.
These are individual cases and nowhere near the norm. Don't base your behaviour on the very few exceptions to living a healthy life.

I think frequency of eating probably has a major effect on overall health. Today most Americans eat all day from the time they wake up until they go to bed, and that has to be taxing on the body. This is the first time in human history we’ve been able to do this. And it’s not like we’re grazing on carrot sticks, dried meats, or healthy snacks. We eat like 3-4 meals and 3-4 snacks in between or just graze all damn day in between meals and we eat until over satiated every meal.
Mindset first. Above everything.
It's actually the Blue Zone diet. Plenty of plants, meat in moderation and rarely any processed stuff.
It's based off the diet that in a few countries of long-lived people. It's not based off Mediterranean diets as Okinawa is an example of a blue zone country.
A 30 year old trainer , ate good amd healthy and she died of cancer at 30 years old,my wife's grandmother eats whatever she wants, snacks ,steak, whatever and she's 93 and healthy..
The Mediterranean Diet consists of:
Vegetables
Fruits
Whole grains
Beans and legumes
Nuts and seeds
Extra virgin olive oil
Herbs and spices
Fish and seafood
Moderate amounts of dairy, poultry, and eggs
Unsaturated fats
I found out why my body started the growth period later than others.. when I was young, between 8-15 each school holidays I would hop on a plane and fly to my dad's place 2hr 30m plane ride there and back each school holidays.
As I was flying at such immense speeds consistently compared to others this actually caused my body to age slower than other 🤷♂️
Dont drink alcohol. Stay away from sugar and processed foods. Include antioxidants in your diet (green tea, jinger, curcumin, olive oil, etc.). Go easy on saturated fat.
