But thanks for putting the time to make these videos they do come good use to me so i dont have to spend money on mechanic doing it. Only thing is i wish i had your knowledge on fixing vehicles because i am A total noob at doing so and want to learn more.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Gerald Wesley I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Good day bro, i need help with my e36 328i, i already change the water pump and the reservoir and when i start the car, is it normal that the water on the reservoir is overflowing and not stable? What do you think the issue, i already change those parts a new one because i thought that was the issue of the overheating, can you help, when i put water on the reservoir its not loosing water, but when i drive the start, its start to loose water, im planning to change the engine thermostat first ? Would that be the answer? What do you think
I have a question and I hope you can help me because no one has no idea what I'm talking about. So exactly today my 1997 BMW 328i i was driving on the freeway going 65-75 mph for like maybe 9 minutes, and then out of no where my car was overheating I pulled over to check on it and I looked at the bottom and it was leaking oil and coolant. I couldn't tell where exactly it was coming from because I was driving so the oil and coolant got everywhere even all the way to the rear axle. But if I where to take a guess? I would say its leaking between the engine and transmission. Is there a pipe or a gasket I missed, please help..
Refill the oil and coolant, sit the car in park, have somebody rev the motor while you look around for leaks. The most prominent coolant leaks that wouldn't be obvious would be coming from underneath the intake manifold, any idea how quickly your car ran through that oil? If you checked it recently, and your vehicle has more than 120-130xxx, could be a crankcase failure, check to see if its burning oil in the exhaust, that would point to a likely crankcase failure.
E36 Fanatics yeah man so it was a coolant hose behind the engine, I changed it and its all good and the oil leaking was the valve gasket, you wont believe me but it was a factory gasket. I never got the chance to get close and see but the gasket wasn't even rubber anymore it was crunchy like a potato chip. I'm waiting for the gasket to get here, Thank you for your reply.
The only way to really get decent clearance and change it is pulling the intake off. Always go OE with the coolant connector, I bought a non OE and it leaked again after six months.
E36 Fanatics thanks a lot! I'm gonna try to do that. I wanna get it running good again. Your videos are great! Thanks for posting the videos and explaning the details
I am so happy I came across your video. Of course I subscribe to your channel. Thank you for your time in making these videos for e36 owners/enthusiasts. I hope you many help me solve my mystery with my 97 328ic. My car has had coolant issues since the beginning of our relationship...3 years ago now! 216k miles and rolling...or so I hope. But I cannot for the life of me seem to keep the main radiator hose on and connected to the thermostat with the clamp. As pressure builds when I am driving, the temp rises, and when I pull over...first thing I see is the hose has popped off and I have lost all of my coolant again. Can you please give me any info as to why this is happening? Thanks so much in advance.
Does it look like the correct OE hose or did someone possibly replace it with a larger hose? Don't want to scare you but I have heard of blown head gaskets causing lots of air to get in the coolant system and increasing the pressure, but if this were in the case with your vehicle you would be noticing other symptoms.
E36 Fanatics Thanks for the reply. Your not scaring me when saying that...the thought did cross my mind of it being that much bigger issue that none of us want to hear. I was told 2 years ago that I had one! Soooo... makes it kinda hard for me to even think that's it. Can you tell me what some of the symptoms are for a blown head?? I know that I also need my exhaust valve replaced....so my engi e hasn't been breathing like it should as well. I do see smoke coming from the exhaust...but it's nothing major...like a cloud floating behind me. And my oil isn't a milky looking or have a milky tone too it. I'll check it again today since my last check...just to make sure. Thanks so much again. The main hose...had been cut short...it was over a year ago...and been like that since...it was a quick fix that someone did for me. And a gentleman that offered his assistance yesterday when I overheated...said it looked like the thermostat...which was replaced a year ago now...had been cut short or wasn't long enough! I'm confused. But all of this was done over a year ago...each...so I'm like okay...but is it the problem?? Thanks for your help again...I really appreciate it.
Just an update... no miky color in my oil as always. I know what...well I believe i know what that looks like. The story about 2 yrs ago when a mechanic told me I needed a head gasket...he had replaced my starter and I swear on everything I own...did something to my car. He showed me my oil dipstick...and it had this pearlescent color to it....I haven't seen it since...and of course I had oil changes performed.. but nothing there right now...its just asking for coolant cause I probably lost the majority of it yesterday.
Did not think anyone would make videos on this particular model because i have a 98 328is and one day i was driving and the temp gauge shot up. i pulled over asap to avoid head gasket blow and there was lots of steam coming from the expansion tank, after i let car cool down i open the cap and there wasnt alot of coolant in their so i added up to the line and now the car doesent go past the middle but when im going at higher speeds the Gauge goes down a bit, I think i have a thermostat problem.
That's odd, usually if steam is coming up like that around the expansion tank either the cap isn't screwed on tight enough, the bleed screw isn't screwed on tight enough, crack in the tank, or maybe a hose has cracked near the tank. That's odd that it hasn't overheated again or steamed since, sounds like your cap was just loose and leaking coolant to me. Thanks a lot! I've learned for the most part from the internet and trial and error!
Hey Steven, I wanna ask about something and hope you get back to me ... I can see your charcoal canister mod, I'm having troubles with this piece of shit and would like to get it removed .. my question is ... how did you route the tubes? did you attach a black gas line to the blue vent and let it open underneath the engine bay or what ? .. and what about the holes ( throttle etc ... ) .
I have a hair lulling problem so I had replaced my thermo and water pump and fan clutch and I clean the surfaces and used the water pump gasket maker seal and my old gasket ring for the pump she did fine for about allmost a month and then my system check thing said check coolant plus sign so it was low I put more in same thing then I'm at work warming my car up and bam seen it leaking pin pointed it to the pump cuz it was right down the center of the car not under any hoses so I knew it was leaking while on then I park that night and leaking when its offf so I took it off seen that the pulley was wet on the bottom indicating where my leak was took the pump off seen I didt really apply it thoroughly on the bottom and re did it as instructed and put it back together today well yesterday and finger tightend it let dry and tightened fully the next day still leaking as I was just filling the system back up I have no idea what to do nowww ....please help e36fanatic
But thanks for putting the time to make these videos they do come good use to me so i dont have to spend money on mechanic doing it. Only thing is i wish i had your knowledge on fixing vehicles because i am A total noob at doing so and want to learn more.
I was wondering, can you spin the cooling fan by hand? I can't tell if my radiator fan is faulty because on my Bmw e36 316i I can't spin it by hand
The dye suggestion is an excellent hack! 👍 Well Done and thanks ....Merry Christmas 🎄

@Gerald Wesley it worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Kolton Jase you are welcome =)
And i need to mention about coolant expansion tank cup. When you close it turn a bit backwards to position when cap can depressurise expansion tank.

Is it bad if coolant leaks all over the bottom of the car?
No. This is the most ideal situation that you could have. Have a great day.

Mine is not leaking on the pumps
What about the most notorious E36 leak . The water pump?
Due tell
