This was a great insight into a day in the life of a content creator, I’d love to follow suit as a freelancer hopefully I graduate music production next year and live the dream 🤞 glad I found your channel
This is so helpful! I'm trying to balance between my freelance day job and music production and I really struggle with planning my day. Your video gave me a basic idea of how I can structure my day. Thank you!
That's sooo amazing to read, I'm glad it was helpful to show the raw authentic messy day 😅That being said, it took me lots of time to find my rhythm and I'm still not full y there haha
Thanks for a great video! You’re very very productive! Days like this happen to me 20-30% of the time. Other days either feel not as productive, or sometimes I focus on one big task for 1-3 days in a row (creating an arrangement or editing/mixing a song). A lot of days I have mental struggles (the problem which I can’t overcome yet for many years, even with the help of different therapists). Sometimes when not feeling like doing the needed tasks I tend to overthink, overanalyze and procrastinate as a result. The best solution I found to have responsibility to other people. When I promise somebody that it will be done, it’s always done! Today decided to give my friend $50 if I fail to release a video on time, or fail to create a sales page for my upcoming mastermind 😆 Works really well haha! Just wanted to share
Thanks for another great video PLV! I’m really considering the creator dashboard. I’ve signed up and downloaded notion and think it would really help me outline goals and things I’d like to do
For highly creative work where it really helps to be inspired and motivated with minimal distraction, have you thought about blocking off certain days as "creative days" where you focus only on music/track production stuff, and then leave all the admin / blog / email BS stuff for "non-creative days"? So for example, block off X days a week for "creative days", and then the other Y days are devoted to the "admin stuff"? Some people are really good at context switching all day and can still get the job done with fairly high quality, but there is also a lot to be said about getting yourself into "the flow state" and keeping yourself there for longer periods of time in order to get the creativity engine flowing and come up with really innovative ideas. I think this is why we hear about musicians/bands who lock themselves away in retreats and such to record albums with minimal outside distraction. We live in a very busy, noisy, distracted world, with near constant interruptions for our attention, so people who depend on creativity and inspiration for their craft need to find ways around this problem.
This has never worked for me. I find it hard to "force" creativity. I can't say okay tomorrow I HAVE to produce music. If I don't feel it, I don't. And that's what I like with making my own calendar, I can move things around depending on my energy level, focus level and creativity :) Definitely something that is very dependant on each person ^^ Friday was really messy, my days are normally a bit more focused than that haha but that's how real life is, sometimes, it doesn't go according to plan.
Great video! I'm curious, what app do you use for your content productivity management? I've been interested in using Notion, but was curious if you were using a different tool.
I use Notion daily! I created my whole content calendar, music tracker and business dashboard! It's called the Producer Dashboard, you can get it here if you'd like to get started with an already built in template :) musicbyplv.com/shop/producer-dashboard/
Do you have any tips on how to spend money in a way that increases productivity or saves time? I have a good musical base and very good income at my current job, thinking if I ever leave to pursue a passion project with music it will suddenly be very tight financially for a while

Why have you not made a single video of you composing a song? I don’t even believe that you know what you’re doing.
