I showed this to my 104 year old grandpa and he started talking about when he remembered my grandma playing this song in their honeymoon at the beach
Irvin, well now I wish my s/o liked classical music.
Awwwe how dreamy and romantic this is definitely a dream honeymoon 😍😍 😍😊😊😊
I'm going to learn how to play this on piano. Most calming song ever. I'll practice every morning, until I get it down perfect.
Awe
How beautiful
My dad used to play this for me when I was a baby... Now I'm 16, he's gone, and I miss him so much... I wish I could bring him back more than anything in this world... But... this song brings me a sense of comfort and hope that one day... I will be in his arms again... I love you daddy...❤️
Do you play the piano , specifically this song ? I bet your dad would love it if you did.
May he rest in peace now and forever. You will see him again someday. Don’t you worry. Peace to you.
i believe,..someday..you will be in his arms again.. someday and somewhere in a heavly place...i believe so strong. sorry, my english is not very well, but i hope, you understand what i say. love, from germany
how bad I am 17 years old too and today is the 40th day of my father's death I miss him so much I hope to meet our fathers one day I hope our fathers are in heaven
To lose a father at a young age must be VERY difficult. My heart goes out to you. I lost my daughter to cancer a year ago and I start to cry when I hear music that I associate with her. Music speaks to the slow.
The people here are so open about thier lives it makes me cry just how beautiful they are 😭
Let's hope your life is good. If it isn't, then may it become good In future
This song always gives me the nostalgic feeling that everything will be okay, even if it's not at the moment...
Yes this song is very comforting
I think the same , someday... 👍
Tal cual, es nostálgica y esperanzadora
Yes ...
It’s not a song it’s music a tune
I heard this song every now and then in different places as a kid, but then I never heard it for years. 4 years ago my 3rd son was born, and he would not fall asleep without his little teddy that played a few different songs. This was one of them, but I didn't know the name of the song. I downloaded a piano app on my phone and started trying to copy the sounds from the teddy. Since then I've had to move away, and the relationship with his mother ended. I'm from a different country, and due to illness I've not been able to go back to see him for over 2 years. I've since bought a keyboard, and then a piano, and I tried to play the song from memory. I can now play the entire song, although not as well as you do. I have no idea what the keys are called or how to read notes. I play the entire song by memory, and I don't know how to play any other songs on the piano. One day I will get my life and health back on track so I can see my son again, and I will play him this song.
Omg this combined with the song made me cry😢 i hate being an over emotional person.
I really hope you get to see your son
@@mummyc8303 Thank you very much! I hope so too

This is the song I'm going to walk down the aisle to. Can't wait until October 😌
I see all this comments from people enjoying the piece, without anyone harassing anyone, without calling anybody on anything, no insults, just people enjoying under the sheer creativity of a human being they don't even know and I just wonder. Why can't it always be just like that?
🤍
@MangoPvP what? He literally said how no one is insulting each other here and asked why it can't just be like that all the time.
This is the realist comment ever!
You comment put tears in my eyes
-Enters an insult-
Эти руки, завораживающе так играют ,красивая музыка, красивые руки ...
This is absolute fabulous. I am listening with tears in my eyes. So quietly and well played.
Sometimes I hear it all the day, at work, at home, in the car ... everywhere, in a loop because it touches me so much and makes me smile :-)
Best version I’ve heard. Perfect timing, not rushed like most others.
Well, the original Canon in D is much faster. This is the arrangement from 1960s, that everyone knows (and it's very good, no doubt).
rushed means that you're not going at the tempo at which you're trying to play. most other people play it fast but don't rush, because music is art, and art is not rushed
@@kimpavfx Couldn't have said it better
What appears as "rushed" is also a matter of practice, this is more art than a competition, so let's respect all levels.
The "rush" is the original version *according* to the correct tempo, this is the 1960's version, tho this is pretty good

After 40 years plus not playing the piano I decided to try again and I picked this piece, this version. I remember hearing my daughter play this when she was taking lessons and i loved it. It takes me hours to go through one page. Once Im somewhat comfortable, I listen to this to make sure Im doing it right. Ill never be this advanced, this is such a beautiful version.
Saw this comment and i just wanted to say that you CAN BE THAT ADVANCED . It may take longer but you can reach it nonetheless .
@@goaway123100 Well, it's getting better. So far I have the first 3 pages down pretty good. Still stumbling at times. I've been working on the 4th page now. I'm not taking any professional lessons right now, just using what I learned 40 years ago.
@@julieteller6505 Thats great!
@@julieteller6505I hope you’ve come along further since last leaving this comment
this piece feels like memories, happy ones. but at the same time it feels sad, reminds you how fast time flies. reminds you that you'll never gonna be able to go back to those days. maybe never see some of your loved ones again. but you made some great memories that's dancing in your mind while you're listening to the melody.
You put into words exactly how I felt listening to this piece.
Thankyou.
In a word: nostalgia.
Ironic how the song "memories" by Maroon 5 used this piece as the main melody of the song

I think Tchaikovsky is a more fitting celebration xD
The enduring popularity of classical compositions is a testament to their universality. The ability to speak to people across generations and cultures underscores the timelessness of this genre. 🌍🎶🕰

I really like listening to this music always. It is very relaxing and sounds great. I hope with all my heart that whoever reads this finds happiness and fulfillment
The best version ever!
It touches the heart and soul! 👍💯💖
I have played piano for about a year or two but my mom always discourages me and says I will never ever in my lifetime be a good pianist. I know I am not the best but I keep on trying but I always feel defeated and wonder why I even live but after listening to this song I feel like I can do anything and I someday will do as good as this. As long as I try I will become a good pianist.
Elena Lin ,I really respect your strong determination, no matter what happens just keep on purchasing your dreams ,I know one day you will become a great pianist, I will remember you in my prayers too, even me,I love playing piano though I am not a good pianist ,I know how you feel, but dear let no one block your way from becoming successful, all the best😣😊😊😊😊
Don't be discouraged. Do it for yourself, not your mother. Pianos aren't meant just to be played by those who are the best. How would the rest of us get enjoyment? I know I will never play like the person here, but that's okay. Stay strong.
Don't worry , just focus on what you have to do , if you give your best God will do the rest, no matter what other people say about you, you are strong and you have the right to live your life , keep practicing and prove your mother that you are born to become a great pianist
Elena Li
Just follow your heart
Never listen to people trying to discourage you...Keep on going, try and fail , fail and learn from it . Success is a compilation of failures . You will be a Great Pianiste

Can anyone else feel the emotions in this piece? Classical is always the best because you can always feel the emotions that are put into making the piece. That's why I love the piano.
I'm always such a sucker for soft, emotional music such as this, and the amount of skill that goes into this piece just tops it all off
I do !

This masterpiece reminds me of the years that I was in my ballet academy in Ioannina, Greece. I was dancing on this so many times , and now that I'm listening to this, i want to cry.... I stopped attending to ballet classes because of financial difficulties and less free time. However, i will never forget these years , the teachers, the girls in my class , the older girls that i was admiring while they were dancing, the performances ..... I'm glad to listen to this again , two years after stopping ballet classes... ❤️

my right hand: playing correctly

ahah same
Same lol
Oh I get it 😂😏
All you need is to practice 🎹
@Michael Joseph yeah i've been practicing the song, hoping that i could play the full song one day
When I was a baby, I had a lot of music toys. There was one I remember in particular. It was a little purple box. On each side, there was a picture of a different instrument. If you hit a side, it would play a little short song with the instrument that was on it. One of the sides had a piano. Whenever I would hit that side, 0:52 would play. I ended up forgetting about it for years. Back in June 2020, my school had a virtual talent show. Some kid played this song. And I didn't recognize it at first. When I did, I was hit with memories that I'd forgotten. This song was a huge part of my childhood. I had ignored it and forgotten about it, because half the memories I have from when I was 7 and younger are all distorted and I can't decipher them from a dream and from an actual memory. I know, though, that this was real. These were real memories. I use this song now to help me through hard times.
Thank you for making this, otherwise I'd be struggling a lot. I always come back here when I'm upset.
A senior in my piano class performed this when we had our classical music unit and wow, he’s so skilled
Canon in D is always my fav melody. You played it well. Keep listening to it during office hours. It makes me calm. No rush, nice tempo..
I’ve started to learn how to play it so I can show my mom. She asked me to learn how to play it when I was just starting to learn how to play piano. I showed her it today and she was happy.
i dont know if the song's more beautiful or the way his fingers moving are floating on the keys

Played this at my dads wedding 2 weeks ago. Played it perfectly. And i know this will fill me with nostalgia the rest of my life.
My biggest regret in life --- I didn't pursue my dream to be a pianist. I am musically astute in piano since 5. One day, my school teacher noticed me playing several songs by ear without the knowledge of musical notes at all. She told me that I should improve my musical skills because she sees that I can be a good pianist one day. At that time, I asked my parents to send me to piano tutorial school but they turned me down because they can't afford it. So I taught myself to play piano as I am growing up and so far, I can play some easy songs on piano. But I think it still would be greater if I can read musical notes so I can play any song. I'm 25 now and still living with that regret.
Thank you for uploading this. I often go to this channel whenever I want to listen to this and imagine myself playing this song. It kinda makes my dream come true by at least, in my imagination.
It’s never too late

Sir Nethan and Aleeza ♥️ "Our Asymptotic Love Story" brought me here.
My mom used to play this on piano for me and my brother. That was back when my parents were together and we lived in a nice house and I had friends next door. Now I’m 21, getting older without making progress in my life and my parents live on opposite sides of the country.
Maroon 5 used this as backing for Memories. They did it incredible justice.

Oh that explians why memories sounded so familiar
Sabes cuán tranquilizador es esta pieza para mi alma? Podría oírla por horas, días.. Gracias por subir este arte para compartirlo con nosotros
amo esta pieza de arte... me alegra, me deprime, me pone melancólico, me conmueve todo..
I just can remember my old good times in Portugal during hearing this, and Rosa my portuguese "grandma", was an amazing and adorable person, she was 94 when I saw her for the last time and she passed away have been three years this month. miss my portuguese grandma every day🤍💐 I remember her farm where she lived, the animals, the orchard where the trees were, her cats and her stories, sometimes I stayed until dawn listening to her stories of when she went to Paris, I even keep a doll that she brought with me when she went to visit a friend in Paris, she was in her twenties. I keep with me our last photo and the memories that with her I did.
I love this piece, even though it hurts me. This is my brother's favorite piece to listen to. Unfortunately, he hanged himself, and I felt guilty for not forcing myself to stay with him as I always tried to do. He and my mom went on a vacation where my mom had work, and I kept crying to just be with them, but my mom said next time, and to this day I regret not forcing myself to be with them. Maybe if I was still following my brother that day, he would not have left us. It hurts, but still, I love listening to this piece. I find comfort and I can still remember how happy I was in the past.
😭
