I love learning this side of history from my hometown that I knew very well existed but never knew how it began lol. A few of my friends were part of some of these gangs. And that’s one thing I remember. When the neighborhoods fell apart many of these guys actually helped out in making it better and safer. Safer for moms to walk down the block with their kids, (me one of them lol) so yeah it was a whole community. I grew up in Little Village in the 80’s

I had no idea the influence of Latinos in Chicago. The media almost always portrays it as black on black crime there. Plus I’m on the west coast, so we don’t have none of that out here.
There's a big Big Latino community in Chicago lot of Puerto Ricans and Mexicans. Chicago is the motherland to the Latin Kings they started in Chicago and eventually branched off to other cities. You always hear about New York as far as the Puerto Ricans and Latin Kings. But it all started in Chicago. Even in my city Milwaukee which is an hour and a half or so from Chicago. “Insane” alliance didn’t include Insane UnKnowns. Spanish Cobras used Insane Spanish Cobras going back to the 1970s. The “Insane” part of the name is actually the source of the beef between the ISCz and IUKs.
Also, the reason the IUKs went after the LDz to begin with was because alliances had already formed and they were already rivals because of their different alliances.

For what its worth, at least in Chicago they go after the one shooter and not everyone who happens to be from his neighborhood like in LA.
Wrong...they go after anyone affiliated. These wars been active for decades just like the gangs in L.A.
Folks stones lords etc they built like mafia families so it does happen especially in Chicago but not on a bigger scale cuz there acting like a straight gang they took the LA route in Chicago how things work but GDs everywhere else got the structure Larry Hoover n Dave Barksdale built still to this day cuz the oldheads around them built the sets up state to state a lot of crip n blood sets ain't do that either maybe the ones close Cali but they all came frm books on LA gang bangin movies and the Oldheads like snoop nem rappin about it n them Yungbols at that time just seen it as sumn cool the do all the GDs n Vice lords etc out off Chicago are legitimate except some new ones
Structure is dead now, thats why everything is a shitstorm. Its all about drug sales now.

Bro I was looking for this comment! He's better known by his nickname than his real name
This video would've lost him revenue since his channel got monetized but the real know already
Honestly the biggest opp of the black disciples and Latin kings has been real estate developers. Most of the nw hoods have been gentrified to the point where it’s almost exclusively for the rich, cabrini green is gone, it’s all luxury high rises now. Every neighborhood mentioned in this video is now highly gentrified with homes that cost a minimum of $800k and gourmet coffee shops and trendy bars lining the streets.
Facts. The other night I walked from Logan Square through Humboldt Park to Pilsen and was surprised at how I was able to. 15yrs ago I wouldn't have even entertained the thought of being on that side, let alone walk through it all. There were some Kings and VL out but nobody was trippin. Kinda odd tbh.
