  • HI FRIENDS! I'm so excited to share a full 24 hours with our newborn baby girl, Quinn! She's a week and a half old and I take you along for the day and overnight and show you the craziness that is life with a newborn! I'm exclusively pumping so I also share how often I pump and how many ounces I get each session. I kept things extremely realistic, especially the late night hours where sleep deprivation is hitting hard. Hope you enjoy!

    I know this is an old video, but wanted to help other moms who are experiencing the same! I had the same experience as you where my son latched on okay in the hospital but his latches were terrible as he got older! After speaking with 3 pediatricians and 3 LCs, I found someone who would listen to me, he ended up having a lip and tongue tie! Once we got them released, he was a nursing champ! Many hugs to you! I ended up pumping for surrotwins I had and my son for 9 months after my surrogacy pregnancy! Loved your realistic video of the newborn stage!

      Also, if you pace feed with the bottle, it will help baby from getting frustrated on the breast!

      @@morgancurt1326 what do you mean by pace feed? & I feel like my baby has a lip tie but her dr didn’t seem concerned about it. Wish I could put her to my breast but won’t take it. I also have elastic nipples so it’s a fail for me :/

    • @morgancurt1326
      @morgancurt1326 Рік тому +1

      @@babybc8810 I’m so sorry your pediatrician isn’t taking you seriously! I experienced that with my son by 6 different professionals that were supposed to help. Try taking baby to a pediatric dentist, they usually are more informed of the ties and the problems they cause! It took seeing a pediatric dentist for someone to listen to me and my sons discomfort. Pace feedings are when you basically make baby work a bit harder for the milk in a bottle, just like they would work a bit harder at the breast for your milk. When you cradle baby and feed them that way, gravity assists with getting the milk out of a bottle, and most bottles baby doesn’t have to work hard at getting the milk out since they kind of drip/leak out. A few ways to pace feed is have baby sitting up a bit more and holding the bottle parallel to the ground (making sure you don’t allow air to get in the nipple), you can lie baby on his/her side and feed them laying sideways, and I also recommend getting a smaller nipple size for a bottle so they have to work a bit harder. Are you lactating at all or is your supply low? If your supply is low, you can power pump along side comfort nursing. You can offer the breast for a feeding and too baby off with formula with pace feeding, or the other way around. Tons of skin to skin and a consistent pumping/nursing schedule is key! Many hugs! Feel free to ask me anything!

      @@morgancurt1326 Aww thank you! You’re so sweet & kind! I appreciate everything you’ve told me. I put her to my breast last night but it hurt and she was getting mad. Think she’s used to the bottle and my nipples get soft immediately and so maybe that frustrates her too because she has nothing to grab a hold of. I’ve been pumping and I have a decent milk supply. Maybe on the lower end but it’s enough to keep up with baby unless I miss a pump session or she cluster feeds before I get to pump. But for the most part she gets mostly breast milk. I give her formula if I get too busy or as mentioned above. I do feel like giving up sometimes. I feel like pumping just takes so much time out of my day. I have a 14 month old and 2 1/2 month old. It gets very overwhelming sometimes. But I try hanging in there. I guess a question I would have is, is it Normal to feel so tired? Like fatigued? Is this part of maybe producing milk? I didn’t get to breastfeed my first so I’m going through a lot of new things. I know I don’t eat like I should. I feel so tired so often go for convenience foods which I know don’t offer me energy. So it’s like a vicious cycle. How do moms survive all of this?? 🥲

      It’s been so long I honestly can’t remember the settings! I know I liked the pulsing vibration and I kept it pretty low intensity. I pumped about 5x a day for 20 mins. I got the elvie cordless one and honestly didn’t love it (I didn’t think it actually got all the milk out as good as my spectra) and didn’t think it was worth the money but that’s just my opinion!

    Hey! I know it’s been a while since this video but I am looking for advice! My Quinn was born a few days ago up here in Dallas and we are going to have to pump and feed through bottles. I haven’t ever done this before, I have always just breastfed my two other children, so I wanted to see if you had any tips/advice from your own experience. I’m only a few days in, 3 to be exact, and it feels overwhelming 😓 just looking for encouragement I guess. 💞

    • @Amanda_Fadul
      @Amanda_Fadul  3 роки тому +5

      The only advice I would give is to not put too much pressure on yourself and if it’s working great, but if not then don’t continue if it’s putting you in a bad place! Pumping is really difficult and I had to stop and formula feed after 2 months because it just wasn’t sustainable for me and was becoming too overwhelming and a negative experience. That said, only you know what’s best for yourself and baby and I would encourage you to pump as long as it’s working for you 💓💓💓

    • @rdaldin4
      @rdaldin4 3 роки тому +3

      @@Amanda_Fadul you’re right. The pressure is only from myself but at the end of the day, Quinn just wants to be fed no matter how I do it. I’m definitely setting small goals for myself... working on 6wks now. It’s very time consuming considering you have to bottle feed on top of pumping and then do the dishes 😅😓
