I've been doing my own research with queer people and our obsession with horror. Then I stumbled upon many many many scientific articles about similar physiological changes when one is scared or horny. Also, Queer for Fear on Shudder is a great 4-part documentary on the topic of horror and queerness! 🔥🔥🔥

No. You are completely wrong. Sorry, but did you watch the trial? Several experts at the trial said *Amber (not Amanda) DID NOT cut his finger off. There was literally no physical way she could throw a bottle so perfectly, that she cut off his finger without leaving glass shards anywhere else in his hand. Actually, there's audio of him admitting that he cut his own finger off, and he admitted in at least 5 separate emails to different people that he cut his own finger off while he was high and delirious. He then dipped the finger in paint and wrote nasty, misogynistic messages about Amber all over the mirrors and walls.
He also admitted to headbutting her in the face and throwing a phone at her eye. His assistant apologized on his behalf when Johnny kicked Amber on a private plane. There are several texts he sent to her family and her to apologize for hurting her while he was high on substances and being a "monster."
Any time Amber hit him, she was fighting back, not attacking him. He had been beating her for 3 years before she ever hit him back. The audios posted to UA-cam are edited, spliced, and have incorrect subtitles that make her look guilty. She is not. Amber is the only victim.
Please research this case more, and look at the opinions of actual domestic violence experts. They ALL side with Amber. Also read the UK case verdict, which he rightfully lost because 3 judges found evidence that he beat Amber at least 12 times. Johnny was NOT the victim; he used DARVO to make her look guilty, but she wasn't. He never should've won that trial in Virginia.
Rowling has specifically cited her continued royalties from ongoing Harry Potter sales as vindication for her violently transphobic views.

You should check out the court documents Depp fans paid to have released showing that he was the abusive one & was yet another man using the court system to abuse his victim further after she got away from him physically. The documents are pretty enlightening. Then there's the fact that Depp supports another abuser (Marilyn Manson) and texts between the two were leaked showing them both basically admitting to being abusers & laughing about it.

Finding out that Alayna thinks Amber is innocent was not the disappointing news I needed today. She literally cut off his finger, Alayna.
She literally didn't. His finger was crushed, it even says it so in the medical records. You can't crush a finger like that by throwing a bottle. There are multiple instances of Depp saying he did it himself (to Amber on an audio tape, to her mother, etc). Not to mention that an expert on the matter said on stand that it's basically impossible for it to have happened that way.
Amber is innocent, Depp is the abuser.

On the art/artist question, I think for me it's different with movies because of the actor vs director. Like, Johnny Depp didn't direct POTC, Gore Verbinski did. So because JD's not the "author" of the film, I'm not inclined to banish them if that makes sense (but if Gore Verbinksi did some stuff, and he's still alive to profit from them, then yeah I'd block those movies).

Can you separate the art form the artist? My general yes/no rule. Will supporting the art fund/promote the bad thing the artist is about. Pirates of the Caribbean, no. Dude gets a residual check tha barely pay a bill here and there. Harry Potter, yes. JK has literal said the (massive)paychecks proves she is right. The rest is do you feel comfortable seeing it/does it remind you of the bad to the point you don't enjoy it anymore.

Did I miss something about Jhonny Depp? Please dont give me hate but genuinely last time I heard about the case, everyone was talking about how there was clear proof that Amber was the abussive one and was clearly lying. If I missed something or Im wrong I would love to know cause I have seen a couple of people talking about JD as if he is the villain and that wasnt my takeaway.
You're not alone. I watched a lot of the trial and though neither of them is completely devoid of "wrongdoing", the trial was pretty extensive and the ruling was that the article Amber wrote about being a DV and SV victim by Johnny was found to be baseless according to the evidence available. I trust that. I'm glad both Amber and Johnny are living their lives (seemingly) in peace after the trial.
Good news! She wasn't concerned about the Jack Sparrow costume because of Johnny directly, but was concerned that by dressing up like him it would somehow support Disney (who of course wrongfully fired Johnny from the franchise early on in the trial before backpedaling after the results were reached). And it doesn't directly support Disney so no worries!

After the trial his fans paid for and published 60.000 pages of court documents, thinking they would have dirt on Amber, but ended up revealing really horrible things about Johnny. It's not just that they leave little doubt that the OG verdict from UK was right, they also, like his personal texts to Manson, reveal he's very sick individual, and also among many other things they show he's homophobic, so it would be weird for a lesbian to stan such man.

Yes, you missed the UK trial which confirmed that he abused her, which he appealed two times and both times lost, you missed his fans revealing court documents, which they thought would have some dirt on Amber, but ended up having horrible things about Johnny and completely sinking him (even Robert Downey Jr., who supports Mel Gibson, removed his support for Johnny after it), and you missed that he signed a settlement that's very unfavorable to him to prevent the appeal. In short - you are what gen Z and millennials think about boomers believing everything that was told to them in TV...

Since Amber was not a party in that trial, she could not be questioned in regards to a lot of things..
Also, during the trial in the US, Amber lied on the stand repeatedly, there were tapes played which showed Amber as the abuser, tapes which Amber herself had admitted into evidence...

In the whole court case, there was plenty of evidence that amber was abusive and very little that Depp was. Most of her evidence was "he had substance abuse issues", which she to also had herself.
Whereas she actually did become physically abusive and even gloated to him that no one would believe Johnny if he came out about it because she's a woman
There is no perfect victim of abuse. Sometimes, people's reactions to mistreatment are also bad. The difference between Heard & Depp is an enormous power imbalance.

Johnny got shafted by hollywood (booted him from Pirates of the Carribbean whereas Amber didn't even get a slap on the wrist (in terms of opportunities in movies. court of public opinion is a different story and I'm glad her movies flopped lol). I've rarely been on the side of the accused man in this sort of thing, but Amber basically stating that she was using the me too movement and believing victims in her favor when there are mountains of evidence of her abusing johnny, it was just gross to me. of course, none of us were in their relationship with them, but it seems like the majority of the hate against johnny is based on her accusations (and, as you said, she gloated about no one believing him if he denied/came out with anything himself), and the hate against amber comes from evidence.

The difference between heard and depp is the fact that johnny was avoidant of conflict, tried to pacify the situation by pleading, whilst amber was the aggressor, constantly being vitriolic and aggressive in language, tone, volume of speech as well as physically.
Johnny time and time again tried to get away from the situation, whilst amber was getting increasingly abusive and persistent on wanting the argument to continue until he gave in to her demands.@@indomitusjane
Johnny is not the perfect victim by any means, but he is the ONLY one of the pair that took avoidment over continuing to argue and seeking to get away from the conflict.
Heard is also the only one who has ever had a prior history of being abusive to their partners and going from 0-100 in a few seconds flat over trivial stuff.
Im not sure how many victims of such terrible abuse can stare down their abuser in court whilst discusssing horrific things. But she did. Johnny barely ever looked her way. And as a survivor from an abusive stepmother, I can tell you that the way she was being antagonistic and vitriolic in those recordings, and her reactions and rambles in court to being sussed out, that is EXACTLY how my ex-stepmother used to act and react. She's a manupulator, a deciever, and most importantly not a victim.
If you think what johnny was like is classed as abusive, you must also achnowledge that amber is highly abusive, both mentally and physically. Since, after all the evidence speaks for itself. There was FAR more evidence, and far worse evidence of amber being abusive than there was of johnny being a bad perosn let alone abusive.

There is not a single court on this planet that has ever proven Depp to be a victim of anyone. Even the Viriginia trial verdict does not prove such a thing because it only says that both Amber and him defamed each other.
On the other hand, the High Court of the UK ruled in 2020 that Johnny Depp is a wifebeater because it was more than proven that he beat Amber at least 12 times and raped her at least once. Two judges of the Court of Appeal agreed with this ruling and denied Depp permission to appeal. As such, this judgement also stands.
This means that you dressing up as Depp is you dressing up as a court-adjudged wifebeater and rapist. It not only shows your ignorance but it also shows that you endorse abuse and smear campaigns because Depp also executed one of the ugliest and horrific smear campaigns against his victim.
Dressing as this wifebeater is a huge red flag to any smart person.

i watched all the court videos abt johnny and he is innocent, he was experiencing reactive abuse and both of them were not good to each other but you can tell that amber had pointedly done that shit to him on purpose
If you look at it from a larger perspective, it was actually the opposite. Heard was the one being reactive & Depp was the psychotic & violent one. This is proven by the documents that were released post trial and by his personal behavior post trial & his acceptance of other abusers of women (such as Marilyn Manson)

@@AlieV1204 He's literally a court proven abuser and r*pist in the UK...and lot's of Amber's evidence such extensive medical records from her therapy sessions dating all the way back to 2011, were taken out of the trial by Depp's legal team, which was shown when the court documents got unsealed. It also showed that ALL of Depp's evidence had been edited/manipulated. If you didn't hear about the revelations from the unsealed docs, then you have been living under a rock...it literally was one the main reasons why more and more people have started to believe Heard, along with information about Depp assaulting others in the past and having a bunch of women abusing friends. Also, one of their former couple therapists literally said, that she'd discuss the violence in the relationship with Amber and Depp all the time, and that Depp was being honest about being the aggressor and main culprit of violence in these sessions. 🤦♀️
