Ringen

This video is based on a short story called "Ringen" ("The ring") by Knut Hamsun. It is made as a school project in honour of his memory, as year 2009 is dedicated to him officially.
The story is about an engaged couple. The man in the relationship sees that his fiancee flirts with other guys, and wants to give her some space, so he asks her if she will make the engagement ring she gave him bigger. This is a symbol of her having to mature (and get some life experience) for their relationship to work out. Overjoyed, she agrees, and she leaves with the train. After a month, she goes to see him, only to tell him she can't find the ring. This is a symbol of her needing even more time, and he says it's okay, he's not mad at her.
And this is where we put in a sequence that isn't in the short story. The heartbroken man goes back to his room, and spends a lot of time trying to get over her there. When they finally meet again, a year has passed. The girl feels she has lived enough to settle down, and comes running back to her fiance. She tells him she made the ring bigger (that she now has room for him in her life). His response is that it's too late, and he leaves her.
