Its lovely to have youtube find me Alba Pujals again. Apologia is a wonderful piece and the line-up is exemplary. But this little gem with Rita a delight. I'm guessing Alba's is the trombone after 2:20 ?
Alba Pujals and Rita Payés, two of the best trombonists/vocalists on the European scene, without a doubt. I couldn't tell you when one or the other plays just by ear, I can't go that far. That's the problem with these videos, that yes, okay, they are aesthetically very pretty and all that, but I always prefer to see how they really play, directly. I know it's a studio recording, but so was Rita's "Nunca vas a comprender" and the fantastic video showed us all doing their part.
By the way, drummer Joan Casares is outstanding, the last (for now) of the Casares saga. I was lucky enough to see him live just last night here in Madrid, with the Irene Reig Trio, great concert.

@@Andreu_Rovira I thought so. Thank you. Alba has the brighter sound and uses some phrases I've not heard from Rita. So I guess they duet after Alba's solo, then Rita closes.
