My heart just lifts hearing the opening theme song. Even though there are challenges, heartache, difficult choices, it shows how to work things out or that sometimes you have to make the best of it.
All of us LOVE this program and can’t wait for another new episode, but I love how well-paced each episode is. As Sam noted, and I am paraphrasing, “less is more”. I agree with one commenter about how one’s spirits are lifted from the moment one hears the first note of the theme music. We are guaranteed yet another fulfilling episode and close the night with full hearts. It simply doesn’t get any better than this production. Each character is delightful. As are the animals. Xx
One of the reasons that this series is so loved by millions of people is that it reveals what people everywhere are thirsting for in their 21st century world of isolation, alienation and self-centered and materialistic existence - the antidote of authentic community, a simple lifestyle, and love, love, love. Most people can only imagine what it would be like to have the kind of genuine friendships and caring relationships with other human beings that these lovely people portray. I believe these programs should be used in a new-born civics curriculum for young people to expose them to what life can be in the western world.
Love this series. While serving in the US Army newly stationed in Okinawa in 1976, I was in the barracks on a rainy Saturday looking for something to do. There was a bookcase in the dayroom so I selected “All Creatures Great and Small” and was hooked. I’ve read the books over and over and my kids grew up hearing about the stories. I’ve watched the series from the 1970’s several times and am enjoying this new series immensely.
Having watched the original program years ago,I wasn’t sure how this new version would go…it has exceeded expectations with an accomplished cast that portray the characters exquisitely…having visited the Dales a few years ago & visitedJames Herriot’s museum ago I can relate even more to the program,Hopefully, more seasons will come🇨🇦🙂
My family loves this series! Warm is a great word to describe it. It’s very calming, family friendly and brings beauty back to television. Please keep it going! 💗🐏🐄🌿
I feel joyful as soon as the credits start rolling in the beginning! The books were among my absolute favorite EVER. It's such a pleasure to escape to a kinder, gentler time. The actors are incredible and perfectly cast, the cinematography is beautiful. The last 3 episodes actually brought me to tears. I am celebrating my fall birthday this year by spending time in the Dales and going to James Herriot World in Thirsk...that's how much of an impact ACGAS has had on me! Thank you, thank you to ALL of you for providing such quality entertainment...hopefully, for many more seasons to come!
This is such an awesome show , I enjoyed the original show, but I enjoy this version even better! I love shows like The Campbells, Road To Avonlea, The Waltons, Little House On The Prairie, and Larkrise To Candleford. Please keep the season's coming, it is a superior , top notch show, well written, well produced, and of course top shelf acting!! Thank you for a great journey!!!
Loved the books as a young adult. Loved the first series. And love the current series. I read the books several times; whenever I needed a happy place to go. And they each seemed to have their own flavor as James and Helen and their children aged and life moved on. I really enjoyed this question and answer, but was very surprised that most of the Brits hadn't read the books early in their lives. Many people I know here in the U.S. has read at least one of the books.
I love this show. I didn't know this series was based on the real life stories of James Herriot that he wrote. Beautiful to hear about his children attending the filming of James and Helen's wedding. And love that Rachel talks with daughter of James to get insight into her mom's character, Helen. I enjoyed this interview so much. All the actors are doing such an excellent job. You bring these characters to life. Beautiful countryside and farms and village.
👍👨⚕️🐮One of the most interesting Q&A's I've watched in a while...three quarters of an hour that passed in the blink of an eye! Thanks so much for that to the wonderful actors (and their pets:). Can't wait for season 2 (...) to finally start here in Germany in fall (presumably- possibly, probably- ..joking with a referance here;)
Love these dialogues with actors and writers/producers. I do remember the first time I saw Nicholas on film was as a young C. S. Lewis in “The Most Reluctant Convert,” in November 2020. That was just before “All Creatures” was released in the US, January2021.
When I heard they were doing a remake of ACGS, I cringed a bit. HOW could they pull this off thinking they have such big shoes to fill. Well, that certainly changed after episode one and was gobsmacked at how *well* they ALL did! The casting of ACGS was spot on, well-done casting director!
I like that it's warm and clean, not trashy. I love the costumes there outstanding! I especially love all the knitwear there absolutely beautiful garmets. I even enjoy Helen's little sister. I have had to turn off so many of Masterpiece theater series because there so immoral and disgusting like Indian summer or the Durells and the motel or guest house series from this season. Yuck. Or even the Thomas character on Downton Abbey. He was so viscous and nasty in more ways than one. This series has been a wonderful remake of the original All creatures. Just keep it clean, wholesome and appropriate to 1940's.
The lead female characters in this are fleshed-out in a way that is not discordant with the music of the characters presented in the books. Mrs. Hall, Helen Alderson, and Mrs. Pumphrey are recognizable to us, so the arc of their stories is not jarring to us.
From the first note of the theme song my spirits are lifted by this production. Love the story and this cast.
This is the BEST show on TV! Where did the concept for the opening come from? I love the animation of the animals.
Our favorite PBS show! Thank you for such a beautiful series!
This was a wonderful Q & A....Thank you to the Cast and Producers and of course, thanks to PBS/Masterpiece as well. !!
These actors seem to enjoy one another and are all expert at their craft of acting! Love this show dearly.❤
This show helped me through the pandemic, as I'm sure it did for countless others. What a wonderful gift. Thank You❤
My heart just lifts hearing the opening theme song. Even though there are challenges, heartache, difficult choices, it shows how to work things out or that sometimes you have to make the best of it.
One of my absolute favorite shows. I only wish the seasons were longer.

That was absolutely wonderful! I love the characters so much & the cast seem truly amazing also!!! 💖
I adore this show and this cast! Keep making this series. Its such a bright spot on tv!

My sons dog loves watching this series as well. Truly.

It takes me back to the 70s in early American Television...it's wholesome and genuine.
I love this tvserie
Beautifully said Samuel West.
Us in Alaska love you all
Loved the Q andA! When will season 4 be on tv?
It's a real joy that the characters show such respectful love for each other and the animals, which seems to me somehow a rarity in our world.
Have to say I much prefer this newer version of ACGS to the earlier one.

I Love this show
Love this show! Is there merch?
I bet this series goes deep into 7-8 seasons

You can tell where they're from from the first "hello" 😉
How do I watch all the series please? Starting from Season 1!!!
I like that it's warm and clean, not trashy. I love the costumes there outstanding! I especially love all the knitwear there absolutely beautiful garmets. I even enjoy Helen's little sister.

Perhaps the kittens of Sams should be called peach and melba
Name the rats: Annus and Ciaphas 🙂
