hey everyone, hope you are doing fine.
here in this video I am going to make a large LED scrolling text display board.
LED scrolling text display board is a really useful project for your home and shop. Every one can make this project easily by following the steps in the video. also you can play by uploading different examples.
This project will deliberate on displaying a scrolling text message on a home-made 48×8 LED matrix ,you can also use 6 numbers of 8x8 LED dot matrix . The microcontroller used is Arduino nano .The 48 columns of the LED matrix are driven individually by six shift registers (74HC595), whereas the eight combined rows are also driven by a Shift register(74hc595). Here we will be scanning across the rows and feed the column lines with appropriate logic levels. The program in the microcontroller is to determine the speed of the scrolling message as well as Message what we are going to display. The technique will be demonstrated for right to left scroll, but can be easily implemented for scrolling in other directions.
Things needed to make this large LED scrolling text display board:-
1) 2x hard cardboard sheet
2) 1x perf board(zero pcb)(bit.ly/2qfDuGS)
3) 384x 5mm LED(red)(bit.ly/2JjjKLp)
4) 1x Arduino NANO(bit.ly/2z784qh)
5) 7x 74hc595(goo.gl/TZf96H)
6) 7x 16 pin IC holder(bit.ly/2D8aDgj)
7) 48x 100E resistor(goo.gl/81bqv5)
8) 8x 1k resistor(goo.gl/81bqv5)
9) 8x 2n2222 transistor(bit.ly/2CMPkzE)
10) 2x 7805 voltage regulator(bit.ly/2EVZTDA)
11) 4x 10uf capacitor(bit.ly/2yBzKEp)
12) 1x dc switch(bit.ly/2D8jLlc)
13) 1x dc power jack(bit.ly/2Q1grLs)
14) 2x 40 pin male-female berg connectors(bit.ly/2AujXIS)
15) 1x heat sink for 7805

sir your scorlling text video is beter than other scorlling text videos(100%)
Very cool. Great work, I know what I am building next...
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent work of all standards. I have built it and it is working perfectly.
Sir,the connections for the row driver to the arduino provided is perfect. Pin14 to D7,pin11 to D5 and pin10 toD6.
Changing these connections will result in either last row or first row not displaying meaning 7×48 will be displaying but with your CREATIVE STUFF minds connections, all 8×48 fully displaying.
Thanks Sir,keep going and may Allah bless you and increase your knowledge.

Beautiful..
This is amazing. Great job!
Thank you
I am planning to make one even bigger using max7219 ics ...stay tuned
Do I need to connect the ground pin on the arduino nano to the -ve
I want to thank you for the time you took to send me the code, and it works fine
Please send me the code too...my email is skidkev@gmail.com. Thanks in advance.
I too need the code....can you send me please @ kumarmathan0603@gmail.com thanks
I have a few questions about the schematic for the 7805 voltage regulators an the capacitors. This is my first electronics project.
1) does the pin 16 wire from the first 3 ic’s connect directly to pin 2 of the 7805, and also to the capacitor which then goes to ground?
2) do i connect pin 1 (VI) to the 9-12V power source and connect pin 1 to the capacitor, then the capacitor to ground?
3) I’m using 3mm LEDs on my version, and curious if you think i could just use the 5v power from the Arduino (I’m using the uno instead of the nano) instead of using the 7805’s with the 9-12v power supply?
Love your videos! Thank you!
Very well explained. Thank you. Lots of respect from Pakistan 🙏
Great stuff! I hope I can make one of these soon.
yeah it's really easy to make and fun to play with.....but be careful while soldering
One I can't understand pliz give me whatsapp no let me ask one question only
awesome to see Congrats and great work
Nice video
Very nice video, thanks for sharing, like
This is so cool, I want to build one someday!
brother accidently i have switched the anode and shot all of them that means i switch the row and column opposite as you said
what will i do now help me
Awesome bro!!!! 😘😘😘
Great job dude it takes so much
Bro for this project 🙏🙏 really appreciate u
I purchase this parts
For this circuit it take 7 hrs without rest
For keeping hols it take 1 hrs
For soldering 1 line it takes somuch of time and it feel boored
Real see now this project is side of me soldering rod is also on i started to do now I complet line it's booring now I am watching UA-cam
Great for ur work
Thanx for watching...but its not boring for me ..rather it's interesting
👍
Need could of audino not avilable
What!!! Did you say soldering part make you bored🙄🙄
Audrino power supply in where?
Is the dc jack used to power the 7805 circuit AND the vin pin on the arduino?
Dc 12v comes through the dc Jack...which provides 12v to 7805 and arduino
Nice video.
How did you get that type of ribbon cable to separate. I can't use them without an idc connector.
Nice project👍
Do I need to connect everything that is ground together?
hello brother, can we add few more led lines ,does it need to change the circuit by adding the extra led lights and how can I connect to ac circuit ,which type of adapter I can use
I like the video's that you speak, rather than the music ........Cheers
Good 👍
Great great and much more great
Thnx
Good Job. Thanks
great work
For power supply witch wire i have to connect for 7805
I made this but problem is row 4 are alowese shifted. circuit is as shown in your video but I cannot find out the problem . I am using 5v 2amps adupter so I am not using 7805
Hello.here the codes i have are designed for common row anode matrix,is it going to work with common row cathode just as you did?
Can you please share the codes with us,that is what's missing.i am patienntly waiting for your answer.thanks
What does the circuit look like where the power is inputted from the dc jack
Nice one there,
I haven't used it before, so I wanted to add other characters like. /-=?":().so how do I calculate it, or do I use BCD code? Or is there another way
very nice video. you are awesome. may Allah SWT give you Hadaya, and direction to right path. Ameen
Very cool sir .......... continued
Very nice
Hello thanks so much for your video. i made one display like urs and i have a question, hope you can help me. my display shows 63 letters after that number text cuts, how can i do to increase to 128 letters for example??. i am using arduino nano. thank you so much for ur help.
I have made one similar by looking at your design. Working perfectly fine. But can you please tell me how to display numbers and small alphabets? The code has only capital letters. Also how to add BT-HC-05
Thank you :)
Keep the great work ahead.
Good.
frst of all th ku so much sir... u r a grt hlp to me 😎😋 ... sir ek question tha agar board ka dimension ho 4*1 (feet) toh power supply pr ya baaki kis cheez pr it vl have its effect ... pls rply asap sir vry urgnt 🙏... thnku in advance
This method of connection and 74hc595 are not good if you are making a board that big...use p10 boards instead or max7219 ...and yes you will be needing a bigger power supply
@@CreativeStuff thnku vry much sir 🙏 and how much big power supply is needed ft the purpose sir ...
12v 5amp will work fine
Really very nice project 👌
Thnx
If i was to do this with green LEDS instead would I need to change the resistance, as the red LEDS require 1.8-2.3 volts while the green LEDs require 2.8-3.6 volts
Any resistance value between 100-470 ohms will work...but make sure every single one of the 48 resistors are of same value
वीडियो बहुत अच्छी और इस सर्किट को बनाना आसान है।
Thanks for the video.
प्लीज एक 12 hour LED clock arduino uno के साथ बनाये। बिल्कुल easy steps के साथ।
I am waiting for the video.
Thanks in advance
Great man...this work...thanks man🙏🙏🙏🙏
what is the battery capacity you have used?
i am using a 5v DC adapter
Do I need to connect the ground pins on the arduino to the common (-ve)
No..you don't need to..
Possible to Simulate in proteus? Thanks
THANKS A LOT NICE
how to modify the code if bluetooth module is added?
What should be the resistor value if I will use green led
Very very nice video
I would very much like to build this circuit I have no problem in electronics in the program I have a problem programming the Arduino
could someone help me with the program?
How will I have to change the program if I change the txt.....and plz can u guide me in how to install the Bluetooth module for this.....I need ur help......I want to make this as my project....
What is the power supply that you have given weather it’s AC or DC and in which way you have connected can please tell me I am doing this project .
Great video!!! I would love to know if at89c52 can do this. If it can I would like to get the circuit diagram and the assembly code. Thanks!!
can you post step by step video how to program arduino nano... i have purchase one of it but i dont know how to program and to input a tx msg to scrol
Nice video.👌👌👌👌
Hello may I ask, if the +5v of column driver and +5v of row driver are connected to 5v of arduino? Thanks
No...row drivers are connected to 7805 regulator...column drivers to 5v of arduino
+5v of row driver to 9-12v of 7805 circuit? 😅
@@nerwinalamas1334 7805 gives 9-12v output?
I'm unsure where to connect the 5v of the row driver, which part of 7805 circuit?
Which 7805 unit is connected to the row driver
1st 7805 provides power to 1st 3 74hc595 of column driver
2nd 7805 provides power to last 3 74hc595 of column driver
74hc595 of row driver gets power from arduino
Really great one with adrino technology and if possible can I get one similar to this as right now I cannot afford from shop and if you can make it with reasonable price, I will get it to place outside for my shop. Thanks in advance.
Super
Very helpful video you are very good job please upload the new video bluetooth modem with same box I am waiting for your new video
Nyc video....
sir making a digital clock by connecting DS3231 clock module this display proper
Patient man. :-)
Can you tell me whats the reason to use 1k resistor
Please Sir, for the row driver diagram, pin 11 of the ic 74HC595 was connected to D6 of the arduino nano while pin 12 of the ic 74HC595 was connected to D5 of the arduino nano?
Please Sir shouldn't it be pin 11 to D5 ,pin 12 to D6 and pin 14 to D7?
You can change the pin-nano digital pin connections according to your code
Is it possible to make 2.3 inch seven segment common annode disply clock six digit as well as four digit
hello sir,
thanks for this video.
If I want to use Arduino uno what changes need in circuit and program?
Please help
No changes needed...every thing will remain the same...I think there is no difference between Arduino Uno and nano except the size of both
thank you so much.
Do you have any idea about 48x16 led display?
how to make it, circuit diagram and code?
No idea 😁😁
Ok😊
Sir can i make 8×60led metrix by using this
Code
Can it works when I disconnect the data cable from my computer after uploading the Arduino code?
Yes
Thanks, I will made it from your circuit diagram and Arduino code.
After placing Arduino you put something in Vero bord what was that is it wifi module?
Bluetooth module...but later I removed that as I could not make the code for that to work
how to add dynamic clock without scrolling? thanks in advance
Sir,can this code applicable to aurdino uno..
Yes
like nice

Very nice bro 👍
Thanks for the visit
@@CreativeStuff ok
Please bro I am unable to open that Arduino code on my mobile phone ....
Is there any application to open or read that program????
Please Help
Hi again MR CS,can you can please tell me where the arduino nano gets the power from?so as to drive the Row Shift register(IC),because on the diagram ,the two voltage regulators are only for 6 ICs.
What if we add another voltage regulator in pararell to the others in order to drive the nano, and encrease the Vin to 16or 20?
I'm waiting for your answer, thank for all creative stuff you share.
Nano gets power directly from the input power and the 7th ic gets power from Arduino Nano ...yeah you can add another 7805 but connect it to 5v pin instead of vin pin of the nano
Okay thanks Cz
So we don't need cd4017 in this circuit as i watched in your wireless display? Or no need of it
No need of CD4017....only 7 shift resistors 595
okay, how can we modify the codes so that we print out the numbers on the display as well?
or the circuit is only for texts?
Can I make it using audrino uno, then what is the change in code
Yes you can..no change in code
Ek aur enquiry hain, mujhe is scrolling display ke char taraf ek led chaser lagana hai jo kafi lamba ho sakta hai, lekin agar main 4017 use karu to sirf 8 output milega
Plzhelp
Great Gadget
I just wanna 2 no ..
You can replace nano ardweno with ics ??
Can u do it ?
What exactly do you mean?
You want to use stand alone atmega328p instead of Arduino Nano???if that's the question then the answer is yes
@@CreativeStuff
Yeah ..
All projects use ardueno not build the circuit using and or not gate ways ..
Just a custom circuit
I'm really want to see this project .. i think its harder but cheaper at least ..
If you want to change the text then you will need a microcontroller..
Very nice video brother
I made it by watching your video but it can't work please help in 7805 circuit one 7805 get damage I replaced it but the replaced also get damage after giving power to the circuit.
There might be a short circuit somewhere in the circuit
nice
plz make vedio 16x96 runnig led board.....can we increse ic for more large board
Where does the power for the voltage regulator come from
12v dc...through the dc jack
@@CreativeStuff so is the dc jack used to power the 7805 circuit AND the vin pin on the arduino
Hi.bro, how r u.hope you are fine. Ur video is awesome. But there are always some questions.
1. Which power supply did u use in this, voltage and current ?.
2. How did u make matrix coding. I did not understand the font definition which u initialized in programming.will u teach that too.
3. What if you extend the columns, what changes will come in coding.. and what if u extend rows.then how will b font initialized.
If possible, make a video explained on a paper.it will be easy for you too..
Thanks 😊☺️
The supply voltage is 12 vdc and the 5mm LEDs typically have a maximum current rating of 20 mA. The Arduino uses 12 vdc and the two voltage regulators drop the voltage to 5 vdc for the Integrated circuit's / LEDs. I doubt that the LEDs are all on at one time and that they are driven at the full rating of 20mA, possibly 5 or 10 mA. At 10mA the supply would need to be 12 volts dc and 3.84 amp and at 5mA 1.92 amp. That's is all 384 LEDs are lighted which will never happen. A 1 or 2 amp supply should be sufficient.
Need bootload in other chips?
