Purple Fields and Soybean Cyst Nematode Management

Winter annual weeds and purple fields may look pretty in the field, but can become a breeding and nesting ground for soybean cyst nematode (SCN). Pioneer Field Agronomist Carl Joern discusses keeping SCN management top of mind this growing season. SCN may decrease yields substantially without inducing obvious symptoms. Studies have shown that in SCN-infested fields, yields can be reduced by over 30 percent without visible above-ground symptoms.
