This is an ideal anthem for my recovery from a bicycle accident and knee surgery… I was riding a rental bike with faulty brakes about two months ago, and I broke a bone in my knee trying to stop the bike. I had to get surgery and now have eight screws and a plate in my knee. I turned 30 years old last month and was lucky enough to see the Mountain Goats perform despite my injury. Hearing and seeing this song live was a huge morale boost. Two days ago my girlfriend of 2.5 years broke up with me, and now this song has found me yet again. It must be a sign that I am indeed going to make it. There will be feasting and dancing in Jerusalem next year!
Found The Mountain Goats just recently and I've been loving their music! This is the first time I've heard this one and this didn't leave my mind, kept singing this at school lol.
An ancient fan of Mountain Goats. Still always love to hear this song, and my favorite, the Best Ever Death Metal Band out of Denton. Hail Satan! Once you hear the song, you'll understand that last part there.
@@chip1464 All Hail West Texas, Tallahassee, Sweden, and a few others. There was also some cassette only releases before their first full length studio album. I've heard a lot of those songs on a college radio station I listen to.
From Los Angeles, I've seen so many concerts...but The Mountain Goats stands as my all-time Favorite band that I've ever seen. I'd recommend seeing them if you ever have a chance.
How have they not become a household name, yet
How we doing, everyone else listening to this at midnight on Jan 1?
Realizing I've been listening to this in my head for 3+ years now 😅
This song has become a tradition this time of year
more like this time of day
It has, Rylie, it indeed has
This song was constantly playing in my head all through 2020
Love a drummer who goes "BOM BOM BOM"
Anthem of the year, every year (but these past few years more than most)

There is much about this song that screams to me of Motor Away by Guided By Voices.
Slightly different perspective. A different beat. Same story.
Fucking incredible!
I thank my ex wife and moral Orel for helping me find you guys.
Werner Ziegler 🤩
The drummer looks like Adam Brody 😂
Replace Kathy with tayla and that's me at 17
He’s like the poor man’s Connor oberst
