Best thing about Klunker Bike. Nobody wants to steal it. You can go get a Burrito or a Candy Bar. And your Bike is still there when you come out.

Yeah I thought it was pretty cool too. Funny thing is I'm retired from the phone company and had access to it but that's not where I got it. A friend gave me a couple of pieces of it. I'm sure there's some out there somewhere.

As usual, great vid, but one question - seems like this bike was (quite successfullly) cobbled together from the parts bin, yet you invested in a pricey Brooks saddle. Why such a fancy seat for this type of build?

although they are expensive, they are very comfortable, and I bet perfect for a rigid frame.

Good question. I didn't buy the saddle specifically for this bike, it's just one I had but I did buy it at some point for some other ratty bike I built. I guess the combination of comfort and aesthetics of the Brooks to me justifies the cost even if using them on cheap and or junk bikes. I suppose saddles are one of the few places I splurge. No matter how crappy, inefficient or whatever the rest of the bike is I'll still generally ride it but if the saddle is not comfortable I wont. Hope that makes sense. I'm really not that in tune with what's collectible, desirable or whatever but I have wondered over the years if I've ever discarded, hacked or tore up something that might have actually been worth some money. Thanks for watching and the comment!

Yes it was built more for fun than practicality but not a bad bike for a lot of the riding I do which is just playing around or riding errands.. I've probably never ridden it more than 25 miles at one time.
