When C. Ramchandra was composing tune for this song one evening, another great composer of that time, Roshan dropped by to invite CR for some house hold function at Roshan's house. When subject of this song and difficulties in composition came in their discussion, Roshan suggested totally new approach and scribbled notation of this song in hurry, which we listen as above. Roshan's greatness was such that he did not claim credit of the composition. CR's greatness is such that he did not hide this fact and openly gave credit of such legendary song to Roshan. Great people of yesteryears !!

Sheer variety -- imagine, this is the same person who gave us lilting hits like "Aana meri jaan sunday ke sunday" and the Bhagwan Dada songs, and then you listen to something like this which reminds you of anything Naushad ever composed. What range and variety!!!

Classical Raga-based songs - such as this - are everlasting in promoting piety, succour, pity, sympathy, elation, mood-upbringing, joy, bliss and all such positive thoughts! I cannot conceive a single on-looker not shedding tears on watching this most pathetic scene in Anarkali...Wonder how good old Bina Rai would have felt enacting this most heart-rending scene! Anarkali (through Bina Rai on screen) has been one of the best and most memorable pictures I have ever seen in my life and C.Ramachandra (through Lataji, Md.Rafi Sahab and Hemant-da and other veterans) had truly immortalized all its songs: "Zindagi pyar ki do char ghadii hotii hai..", "Aaajaa ab to aajaa...meri qismat ke khariiddaar, ab to aajaa..." and others...
