I take mine to Mendip Auto Services in Wells for the belt. Well known for these cars. This video gives me flashbacks of doing my gearbox by myself on the floor 😂
Good to know mate thanks. Fair play to you for doing that. Diving abit too deep for me but always good to learn. Had my share of lying on the driveway 😂
I'd have serious reservations of going forward with a reconned or s/h standard box/diff given that it's not rated for the power torque of a turbocharged F4R. In all fairness you risk failure if you regularly rag a stock 182. It might be worth chatting to Gripper or Quaife to get their thoughts before you go any further.
Cooksport are good guys and very knowledgeable on all things Renault, did the cam belt on my Trophy last year. Gearboxes really are the weakest link on these cars! 😅
I'm down in Cornwall and an independent Renault 'specialist' in Falmouth quoted me £1420 to do the cambelt and pulley do definitely don't go there. Long shot but am trying to find garage in Bath/Bristol area (or previous owner) of *WG05 MVV* my metallic blue 182. If anyone knows it please give me a shout.
The sump gasket is very much "They all do that" but it's a lot easier to do with the subframe off. J&R do replacement shafts that work, although you may need to grind a tab off the block to make it fit. Good luck getting it sorted. Every time I'm in a workshop I wish I had a lift...
Due a service really so will get the garage to sort it rather than me servicing it this time round. Yeah I’ve been informed of the J&R shafts, and the grinding required. May just grab a set of used oem ones. Appreciate the comment 👍🏻

They’re closer than I thought to me actually only 30mins away.
Yes they are, which is unfortunate 😅

@@jwmeale3058 PS, impact wrenches are 100% worth it.
Cooksport is the only place I take mine now
Good to know, I’m local to them so will do some research 🤙🏻
Que suerte que al parecer no es tan grave el problema bueno eso digo yo😅
We will see how serious this week hopefully 😅🤞🏻
