When my kid was growing up, I often played Lynyrd Skynyrd on Sunday mornings if we didn’t get to church. I always started off with Curtis Loew! Great song
I've got them on my Spotify right now. Another great southern rock band. Also love Jamey Johnson, Sturgil Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Shooter Jennings, and Motor.
Good Lord...I'm in heaven just listening to this....I play unplugged southern rock all the time and it is so hard to find a crowd who loves like this. Charlie Starr is the Real Deal. I'm re-energized to play music just listening to these guys
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
@Dariel Elisha Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.

My God in Heaven is truly the creator of the universe. He has now raised another saint from the grave. I've literally fought over Lynyrd Skynyrd and I know Ronnie Van Zant when I hear him crack a smile. Its good to see you again my brother, its been a long time.
EXCELLENT JOB, THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS OF ALL TIME. THANKS, YOU GUY'S HAVE THE SPIRIT OF RONNIE IN THE SONG, R.I.P. MR. RONALD WAYNE VAN ZANT, I WILL SEE YOU IN ROCK AND ROLL HEAVEN MY FRIEND, COUSIN FIGEL
Awesome Charlie,I was fortunate enough to see skynyrd with little feet and Lowell George in New Haven a week or 2 before the plane crash and it was an awesome show!!👍👍👍
jerry rinaldi - o man that is so cool! I were but a wee laddie, um, 8, 10 yrs mebbe. Wish'd Ida seen them back ina day. Also, it's Little Feat, not feet, but hey, S'ok, U Is number 1 with me, o day!

SUCH AN AWESOME SONG -- AND A KILLER RENDITION OF IT AS WELL--BBS AND CHARLIE - BENJI-and Da rest ALL HAVE SUCH FEELING-SOUL-AND TALENT !!!!!! GREAT VIDEO !!!!!!!
One of my top 5 L.S. songs and my fav. off of Second Helping. Love how Charlie just rolls with the mistakes and keeps it going. IMO he's the best frontman out there these days. Blackberry Smoke Forever!!
Its songs like this and performers like BBS and Charlie Starr that are proof that the Southern Rock sound will live on because this band not only does many songs from different southern rock bands they have their own songs that are no shabby at all down right awesome as a matter of fact and will I'm sure produce some classics themselves Rock on BBS
Ronnie Van zant was the most awsome Singer that ever lived. In my opinion!!!! Lynyrd Skynyrd 67 - 77 is my most favorite band!!! Lots of other people and bands but Lynyrd Skynyrd was the best!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, this works since I couldn't be there last night. Gonna make one of those Attic shows and come see you boys. Thanks Benji - sucks Charlie was sick, I had it too. We all did. Of course y'all sound FANTASTIC, as usual. Takes me back, man.
Well ok, So I have been avoiding BBS for quite some time for some reason. I think being older I was mad that we are losing or have lost so many of the great southern and vintage rock band members. The Allman Brothers have retired and most of Skynyd is gone, I am feeling like a whole generation of great musicians are gone. I refuse to even turn on a radio any more due to the crap I would hear.... But I am going to go back and listen to some BBS and try to listen with a more open mind. Anyone who can sing RVZ this well including the inflections did not just start doing it lately, I am touched to hear someone do this song this well and maybe I just didn't give BBS the chance they deserved. Peace all !
I'd start from The Whippoorwill, and then move on to LIttle Piece Of Dixie. Unfortunately the "new" album hasn't quite lived up to those, although I do like the song Payback's a bitch.
Michael Watkins - I think you'll be glad you did. BBS just got it. In an age where records/cds/albums are well, not the way they used to be, they are doing quite well. Just fabulous.

I've said it before,BBS, is as good as it gets in southern rock today.
I love them to but you need to look up whiskey myers
I've got them on my Spotify right now. Another great southern rock band. Also love Jamey Johnson, Sturgil Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Shooter Jennings, and Motor.

They are the best. There are other bands, other artists, but BBS has songwriting that simply amazes me. Gorgeous songs.
Agree Dirk. BBS new album is amazing. Every one gets better. Check out Sturgil Simpson if you haven't.
I cried when everybody started singing along. "In the strangest of places if you look at it right."

Ballad of Curtis Loew
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Well, I used to wake the mornin'
Before the rooster crowed
Searchin' for soda bottles
To get myself some dough
Brought 'em down to the corner
Down to the country store
Cash 'em in, and give my money
To a man named Curtis Loew
Old Curt was a black man
With white curly hair
When he had a fifth of wine
He did not have a care
He used to own an old Dobro
Used to play it 'cross his knee
I'd give old Curt my money
He'd play all day for me
Play me a song
Curtis Loew, Curtis Loew
Well, I got your drinkin' money
Tune up your Dobro
People said he was useless
Them people all were fools
'Cause Curtis Loew was the finest picker
To ever play the blues
He looked to be sixty
And maybe I was ten
Mama used to whoop me
But I'd go see him again
I'd clap my hands, stomp my feet
Try to stay in time
He'd play me a song or two
Then take another drink of wine
Play me a song
Curtis Loew, Curtis Loew
Well, I got your drinkin' money
Tune up your Dobro
People said he was useless
Them people all were fools
'Cause Curtis Loew was the finest picker
To ever play the blues
Yes, sir
On the day old Curtis died
Nobody came to pray
Ol' preacher said some words
And they chunked him in the clay
Well, he lived a lifetime
Playin' the black man's blues
And on the day he lost his life
That's all he had to lose
Play me a song
Curtis Loew, hey Curtis Loew
I wish that you was here so
Everyone would know
People said he was useless
Them people all were fools
'Cause Curtis you're the finest picker
To ever play the blues
That’s playing n singing awesome 😎
NICE SONG AND COVER
