- “Kiss The Rain” has become a well-known song as it was used in many TV shows ever since its release as a piano solo piece in 2003.
In February 2021, to celebrate Yiruma’s 20th anniversary after his debut, the song is newly arranged and developed its original melody into a more sentimental way,
along with Korean Symphony Orchestra’s rich, dynamic orchestrated sound.
"비가 부슬부슬 내리던 날 워털루다리 위를 걷다가 생각난 멜로디였어요. 그 멜로디를 집에 오자마자 피아노 앞에 앉아 즉흥으로 연주하게 되었습니다.
어떤 음악이던 예상치 못한 순간에 갑자기 떠오르는 경우가 많은데 이 곡을 쓸 때 그랬던 것 같아요.”
Kiss The Rain은 이루마가 2003년에 처음 피아노 솔로곡으로 발표한 이후로 드라마와 방송프로그램 등에 다수 사용되며 대중들에게 널리 알려지게 되었다.
이루마의 초기작품에서 두드러지는 맑은 감성이 피아노의 영롱한 선율에 잘 묻어난 이 곡은,
발매 이후 18년이 지난 지금까지도 세계 여러 피아노연주자들과 음악애호가들 사이에서 재 연주되며 큰 사랑을 받고 있다.
2021년 2월, 이루마의 데뷔 20주년을 기념하여 코리안 심포니 오케스트라의 웅장한 관현악 연주에
원곡의 피아노 선율을 보다 감성적이고 심플하게 담아낸 오케스트라 협연곡으로 편곡 되었고,
영국 에비로드의 수석 마스터링 엔지니어 Simon Gibson 의 손을 거쳐 보다 생생한 사운드의 고퀄리티의 음원으로 발매되었다.

*Beautiful.* It’s almost like a completely different song, good but for different reasons than the original piano solo arrangement. Amazing, this sounds like it belongs in a Studio Ghibli feature film, it has so much emotion. The orchestra did a stellar performance as well. Keep up the amazing sound, Yiruma. ❤️

Yiruma's pieces are so peaceful and (for me) nostalgic because I used to listen to them often, last year. He is underrated. He deserves more views and credit. His music is absolutely incredible

I played this alot last year when my dog had ccl surgery and I was stretching and massaging his leg...it seemed to relax him and he knew I was helping him...and we are still listening today! Love ❤️

This arr. is very beautiful. I can actually feel the warmth, like when the spring sun hits your face on a cold morning, the freshly bloomed flowers greet your nose. Kiss the rain used to be that over-used piece that some may get bored of, but this version is definitely different. Beautiful and breath-taking😭

Thankyou Yiruma, this is beautiful. My favourite is River Flows in You and I play this one. I first heard your music when my friend Jun played River Flows in You at school. His Dad is Korean :) I also have a Korean teacher and he taught me Arirang and I love singing it.
