I first heard about the Bible Timeline through the Bible-in-a-Year podcast hosted by Fr Mike Schmitz. Recently, I started the 6-month Bible Timeline Study Program created by Jeff Cavins. I have always wanted to read and understand the Bible but would get stumped at difficult passages and then give up. For the first time in my life, I am finally able to comprehend God's words at a deeper level. The words are coming to life and changing my life! Jeff is brilliant and a genius. I am forever grateful for the work that he did and continues to do.
I actually liked this question. Everyone has a "Jobs/Wozniak" experience at least once in their life when working on a project. One person does most of the work and the other person becomes the face of it and gets most of the credit. It's a good lesson for every Christian to not burn with envy, accept their role, and be happy for both themselves and their partner. It's also important to note that what was achieved would not have been possible without either person playing their part.

Jeff Cavins has a major part in the audio series, introducing each era. I am impressed by his honesty here, but I am not suprised. It's his love, of God and His Word, and his brothers and sisters that lead him to this remarkable work. That same love keeps him from resenting Fr Mike Schmitz.
I love "Bible in a Year" & I love both Jeff Cavins AND Fr. Mike. The combined work of these two holy men has allowed BIAY to become a powerhouse medium for bringing God to the world. Jeff's intellectual, scholarly, & creative abilities gave birth to incredible content & incredible insights in ways that have made God's word so much more digestible. His intro to each new section is approachable & flawless & I very much NEED Jeff's intros to help me relate to what is coming next. Fr. Haven't we all been slighted at some point in our lives and felt that sting of pride? It's so humbling. I appreciate his honesty and the way he turned it around to see God's greater purpose for he and Fr. Mike.
In God's vineyard, one prepares the soul, another plants the seeds, another waters and cultivates it then the Harvesters comes and gathers the fruits of the harvest. Each contributes and does not claim the fruits as their own. Jeff knows this too well. It is not his work but God's work. True indeed Jeff Calvin's and others like Scott Hahn are our modern Apostles fired with spreading the Word of God, not competing with each other but collaborating with each other for the Kingdom of God.

Human beings have always wanted and tried to save themselves from their own sins and earn their own eternal salvation. It is part of our sinful nature to do so. But there is no amount of human good works that could ever satisfy the demands of perfect holiness before YHWH because we “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). But Jesus, The Christ, was SINLESS and He satisfied all the demands of perfect righteousness. So He shed His own blood and died for our sins in order to redeem us. Then He rose from the dead and victoriously offered that glorious gift of eternal life to anyone and everyone who believes in Him and His promise to give us this gift. Hallelujah, What a Savior!! AND NOW we are FREE in Christ - at LIBERTY to LOVE OTHERS! Shalom
I love watching the show. I think sometimes it's so nice when there's something nice and 'Christian' to watch. This could be the next 'hard talk' by BBC...for Christians... Y'know where Matt analyses viewpoints and studies people all on his talk show... I have learned lots from this show... To me it's educational! 🌸
I love the content and the ease of learning the Bible with audio is what I enjoy. I would equally enjoy it if Jeff or Fr. Schmitz read it, however having the message delivered by a fervent priest does contribute to the reverence of the message.
Jeff, I love this snd appreciate you letting go and letting it grow. Now I'm waiting for you to do something like this shortend with a kids Bible/presenter for kids and/or those who need the simplified version.
A more interesting question would be for Fr. Mike: How exactly do you deal spiritually with being a Catholic media super-star whose appeal is not, shall we say, entirely religious?
I also wondered about that - But i always look forward to Jeff Cavin's coming in every now and then. - Such humility Jeff Cavin ( Love you to bits for giving us the Bible in the Year).
He is a true humble servant of Christ. He doesn't desire any glory from his great accomplishment, the Great Adventure Bible/reading plan. He is just so happy that it is popular and spreading God's word, regardless of who is the "face" of it.
Babies will spend more time looking at classically attractive faces than less attractive faces. Human nature. Not something socially conditioned, beauty is real.
Does matter what people think of us, it only matters what God thinks of us. Even if the credit you've done was manifested in someone else. God knows you were the one that created it and that is all we need to know that God knows.
I was bummed out when Mr Cavins came to a local parish and charged $30-35 for a book signing. Struck me as an odd Catholic celebrity approach. Otherwise I like the stuff he does and he seems great here.
My opinion is not going to be popular here since most people here are Jeff fans. Jeff has Fr. Mike to thank instead of jealous of that God chose Fr. Mike to do BIAY and he uses the reading plan based on Jeff’s timeline. Fr. Mike could have used any other BIAY reading plans. Jeff’s timeline is excellent but at the same time people have been reading and understanding the Bible for more than 1000 years without Jeff’s timeline
I don't see Fr. Mike as Gimmicky. He may seem not as serious, perhaps because he works with youth and college age students, I think that his approach fits those groups. I find him very orthodox and very well read. But he does not come off as an intellectual. I am of the past retirement age group and I love all Fr. Mike does in this BIAY and his other podcasts and videos. As a former teacher I very much see his appeal. I think he fits "Unless you become as little children…” very well. He has a different approach than Jeff Cavins. Both are humble men. Both are very good at what they do. God gives each of us different gifts, and He expects us to use the gifts we are given. Jeff and Fr. Mike use their gifts well, all to the greater glory of God!

Father Mike Schmitz recently made a video about his new Tattoo in his left wrist and that is WRONG on so many levels. Whoever watch that video may think he is endorsing tattoos and giving them a green light for others to get one. One thing is that he wanted to get a tattoo, another that he make a video endorsing them. That's odd. Our bodies are not our own. They belong to G-d and are temples of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19. Man has no right to voluntarily mutilate his members. Saint Basil The Great condemned Tattoos as they are sinful. He is free to agree or disagree, but to leads others to believe in his opinion, is to take other souls to commit a sinful act on themselves. Careful when listening to this Father, something ain't right here. Blessings!
@@meihui7767 Its against the W-rd of G-d. Study the Scriptures, it is clear. The Church was also against it until recently. We are now living the times were some people within the Church and outside the Church, for lack of knowledge (or other reasons) are trying to change what is clearly written in the Bible with the pretext that we are living modern times and therefore we must adapt to such times. This is a huge misunderstanding of the Bible and a Sin by all accounts. The W-rd of G-d is Eternal. Had no time and we must follow it if we want to be saved. This is not an option but a commandment. Tattoos has a long association with the worse kinds of paganism that goes back to the Maya, Inca and Aztec times when were used on rituals. In fact, if we look further, we can see that tattoos goes way back to Neolithic times. The Father is a representative of the Church and as such, he has to be very cautious with what he says in public since it can lead thousands of people astray. That video is a mistake since many people who don't have tattoos could get one after seeing his video endorsing them. Blessings!

Then He rose from the dead and victoriously offered that glorious gift of eternal life to anyone and everyone who believes in Him and His promise to give us this gift. Hallelujah, What a Savior!! AND NOW we are FREE in Christ - at LIBERTY to LOVE OTHERS!
Shalom
Fr. Mike Schmitz ROCKS!! 😎😎😎👍👍👍✨✨💖💖💖
Jeff, your humility is a gift 🎁 to humanity.
Great question!!
Great answer!!!
Big fan of Jeff Cavins.
But Fr Mike has bigger. That's the root of the question here.
Mother Mary always pointed to Our Lord . We can learn from her, who knew Jesus better than any human.
Jeff, your work is amazing. Thank you 😊. Father Mike is probably the best person to present your work to us. What a great team!!
He is an amazing man.
😅
I also wondered about that - But i always look forward to Jeff Cavin's coming in every now and then. - Such humility Jeff Cavin ( Love you to bits for giving us the Bible in the Year).
Thank you Jeff for all your content! I listen to you daily! Love your daily reflections on Hallow . God bless you.
Okay, I’m sure we all agree, Father Mike Schmitz is just an amazing man! Haha
I love that he answered honestly! So brave.. good on you Jeff!
I struggle with this and I haven't created anything yet... 😅🤣😂
He is a true humble servant of Christ. He doesn't desire any glory from his great accomplishment, the Great Adventure Bible/reading plan. He is just so happy that it is popular and spreading God's word, regardless of who is the "face" of it.
God bless both of you, Matt and Jeff! You have been incredibly impactful in so many people’s lives here in the Midwest! ❤️
I liked the question, I like Jeff Cavins’s answer even more. Thanks for a great short clip (since my brain can’t handle the long ones!)!😳
Jeff has a kind and comforting voice. I like hearing him speak.
Thank you for asking this question! I was actually worried about it and am so relieved. Jeff is truly a good man.
This is a wonderful showcase of God's creation and the good practice of Christian faith! We each are thankful for our little parts.
That's Jeff Cavins ?! Wow ... I remember him red hair and all. Still at it ! More power to you !
Love this and Jeff Cavins, ah, one of my heroes!!
Babies will spend more time looking at classically attractive faces than less attractive faces. Human nature. Not something socially conditioned, beauty is real.
What a great question and such a wise answer.
I love Jeff's Sunday reflections on Ascencion!
I love you both thank you for the bible in a year it totally ROCKS
Thank you, Veronica. Blessings.❤️🙏🌹
Jeff Cavins is my man!
I have wondered this exact same thing!
beautiful honest response
"sarcasm"
Liked that bit @the-editor
This was my all time fav PWA interview
We're all supposed to be child like in the eyes of God. Father Mike is genuinely there. 🕊❤
Where it starts is a jewel!!!
Yep wanted that answered? Great great work though Jeff. Wondered from day 1 Jan. 2021
Great question
Great stuff :)
Beautiful
The less credit we take in life, the more credit we get in heaven :3
Fr. Mike got a tattoo.
I hope someone would copy and bring forward our mission.
Does matter what people think of us, it only matters what God thinks of us. Even if the credit you've done was manifested in someone else. God knows you were the one that created it and that is all we need to know that God knows.
He's a frickin Chad Mogger!
What about Taylor Marshall....will "pints" have him along some day?
Don't ask this question.
Now I know what pusillanimous and magnanimous mean.
You need to abandon yourself to him and live not by this world and everything will be given to you!
I like Fr. Mike, but I have to be honest, Jeff is more my cup of tea. He has more depth and wisdom. Fr. Mike seems sort of gimmicky to me (sorry).
Jeff is not a priest
@@dianalytle163So well said. Fr. Mike is intelligent but not an intellectual. He has a way to reach people with simple words that even children can understand.
Well said! I agree 💯%! @@dianalytle163
Hilarious
You Catholics are becoming like protestants .....who admire the man ( if he's dynamic etc ) not the word
Stop that
I have seen people jump churches just because the priest is not dynamic ....stop that ....we don't go to church or a lecture to admire the person ...we go to hear God's word .
Actually we go to receive the Eucharist, but I agree with your main point.
So true....know of so many who do that!
I don't live in the States or Canada but it seems to me as an old European that there is a slight fundamentalist tone in some of these fellows.
why leave a comment , yoy never answer anyway; same as Taylor Marshall.....sister Miriam and so on
oh, poor Nicky Nick
@@pintswithaquinas at last, thank you
@@pintswithaquinas After 4yrs of reciting the Rosary daily, mainly in the church including prayers, of deliverance and to the Saints; act of contriton , communion. A few weeks I had to stop because of frustration and anger; instead of healing and progress. I had to drink to reduce the pain and only recite the Rosary s.times. I think Fr Ripperger has a solution but I can't reach him.......s.thing to do with prayer and meditation. It has taken me yrs to find a priest for confession........2 hour drive. Not easy to be a Catholic as everything is diluted. Can you answer or a guest why this has happened.
Eighth
second 😂 but good video
Blessings!
What’s wrong with the Name of Jesus and the Jerusalem cross on your wrist? The Church does not consider tattooing a sin
Blessings!
@@sonsmith4809 I don’t completely disagree with you but I also think it’s dangerous to think we are better than the Church. The Scripture also says don’t eat blood. Are eating rare steaks a sin?
@@meihui7767 Hi Mei, raising our voice when something is wrongly done by clerics in the Church has nothing to do with thinking we are better than the Church. As said earlier, it is the faithful duty to denouce anything wrong within the Church. Let's keep on topic rather than deviate. Blessings!
@@sonsmith4809 I didn’t deviate from the topic of tattooing is not a sin, did I? The Church doesn’t think it is. So you think the Church is wrong? For centuries, Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land often get tattoos to commemorate their long journey. That’s where Fr. Mike got his.
First
Since Fr Schmitz showed off his tattoos I have no respect for him!!!
Why?
@Marcin Hasulak The tattoo is the name of Jesus and the Jerusalem cross
@@Volaer1 I think a lot of people look down and judge those with tattoos
Did you listen to Fr. Mike explain the tattoo? Please check it out.
I've heard Fr Mike Schmitz speak at theological conferences and his speeches were always theologically shallow. I think he has become overrated and is overreaching is abilities.
