XCX is one of the best open world experiences in gaming. An absolutely massive map where you can reach everything you can see, and side quests that fully invest you into the world.
I think whatever Xenoblade game is in-development next at Monolith Soft, it's gonna attempt to connect XCX's lore into the main XC trilogy. I mean (huuuuge SPOILER ALERT), If the post-credit scene of XC3's Future Redeemed ending has anything to go by, you know with Shulk's and Rex's worlds merging themselves back into one earth again. There's a part a little later in the cutscene where you could see a little bright dot from space slowly going towards earth. Could this tiny bright dot be the element that connects the main XC games with XCX's universe? I dunno. I'm just excited to finally be able to play X on my Switch man.
I put 100 plus hours before I moved to Seattle in September on my, still working Wii U. And they announced this! I am still amazed how graphical it looks for an underpowered console. Can't wait!
Watch the trailer titled "Wii U - New title developed by MONOLITH SOFTWARE INC. Trailer" from 2014 (I think). It came out before we knew what it was, I assumed it was a 3D remake of Xenogears because of the giant landscape, the Mechas, the hangar, and the giant city (Xenogears has multiple giant cities).
I freaking loved the original. I can't wait for the events to be back up so I can actually participate this time. The best part is that you can climb over every inch of that terrain with no load zones. If they had announced this as a launch title for switch 2, it would've been an instant buy for me
Let me tell ya Dee Bee, this game is so big that it was originally gonna be separated into 2 game discs back on the Wii U. I'm very curious to see how the Switch will handle it.
If they were able to effectively bridge Xenosaga with mainline Xenoblade through a few minutes of background dialogue in a cutscene, they can easily connect X to the rest of the games in the new content
As someone who has played the original I can say they knew exactly what track to play uncontrollable goes so hard as a battle track and also NEW AREA YES PLEASE AND THAT JET FROM THATS NEW AND AWESOME i didn’t watch the second trailer so this was awesome for me as well X is so dear to my heart just as much as the xenoblade trilogy and yes its not connected most just references but who knows with the new area honestly maybe new lore to it all
X is definitely its own thing. Thats not to say its a bad experience or anything but you have to understand that it takes a different direction, not just its story but general progression and such. The first major thing is that unlike the main trilogy, the game is 100% open world. Even more so than BOTW. When they say you can go anywhere, they mean it and you can run all the way to the final area immediately. No restricted tutorial to complete. Of course, that takes ages but thats where the skells (mechs) come in. But dont think youll get a skell in the first hour of the game. They're a feature you have to earn and you dont get the chance until at least 20 hours of play. Even longer if you want to fly. The next is the games plot. Without spoiling anything, this game is lighter on its story than the main trilogy. The best way i can describe it is "the majoras mask of Xenoblade" where most of the story and content is all side stuff. Heck, you could argue unlocking skells is side content to a degree since its not a requirement until the final chapter. Between each chapter, youll need to fulfil some requirements. A particular affinity mission, a level requirement and a data probe in a new region are the typical requirements. I'll be blunt. You wont enjoy the game if you try to straight shot the story. The game expects you to do the side content as you progress. Youll find a lot of features and story development is locked in side content. It all helps flesh out the world and characters because the main story more or less skips over the finer details. The last main thing to note is that Elma is the main character, not your player made one. The protagonist (officially named cross) is simply a member of Elma's squad but she is the front and centre of the games story and she, as well as Lin, will be in your party at all times through the story. Sure you'll be there through it all but this isnt your story. It handles a lot of things differently but my god is it great to get lost in. Theres so much to see and do that i spent hundreds of hours trying to do it all.
I never had a Wii U even though I wanted one, and only found Xenoblade when it released on 3DS in 2015. I have heard this soundtrack for years since then, but saved myself from seeing ANYTHING about it, no spoilers at all. Now I can finally finish all the Xenoblade games, and PILOT A SKELL
4:19 Characters don't suffer fall damage in this game. I won't say why because it's story related. Yes, a very simple mechanic like no fall damage actually has a story element to it.
Xenoblade X is a technical marvel, the world itself is worth exploring alone. This game is my favorite game of all time despite its flaws it truly showed me what pushing openworld could be and i would at least like to see you give it a try. And yeah the music is absolutely beautiful.
It's a great game and the only reason why I have (still got) a Wii U. There are some superb cinematic plot reveals and GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS to drive and fly. Woo hoo! And yes, the OST is amazing too. I will be getting this version of the game and either stealing my son's Switch or buying a Switch 2 just to play it.
Xenoblade X is connected to the rest of the series in the same way that the Final Fantasy games are connected, common terminology and creatures, but standing as its own experience that you don't need the others to fully enjoy. But with the new story DLC coming, there may be new connections.
Jesus christ Hiroyuki Sawano's music is so god damn good, highly recommend checking out Gundam Unicorn music, i still cannot believe they nailed him for xenoblade X how the heck have i never played it being a mech fan above all else...
I see Dee excited, and it makes me want to play too..... I have a backlog off incredible RPGs to play and I am not sure which series I should do next once I'm done with the 2 I'm trying to finish. Future Choices are Persona 3-5, Xenoblade Chronicles, Dragon Quest 11, Paper Mario TTYD, FF9
X is what got me into the series and it s such a good game although you do need to be aware that it is very diferent from the rest of the series. The main story is as a matter of fact only a part of the story and, generously, the most important part about this game' s story is sidequests. Everything in this game is so f*cking gigantic and cool, the world included as its 2 times bigger than BOTW's map ( and there s lots of similarities since, you know, same dev). So in a way, X was a prototype for BOTW but it is so good. The story isn t linked to the main line games but it could have been linked to the mainline games as this game never got an actual ending, thanks to time crunsh... so w this new version, it might very well get linked
As someone who beaten the game, a lil worried about the overhyped. It was this hyped back then that led to disappointment. Dont get me wrong, I still like the game and it brought something new to gaming as the first ever open world mecha game
Truthfully, I hope they tie XCX to Xenogears/Xenosaga just because of the mechs and sci-fi elements alone. There are so much lore and the mysteries of Zohar that I really want to get expounded on from Xenogears/Xenosaga that these 2 series should have a remake as well. I am crossing my fingers that Square Enix gets to collab with Monolithsoft for Xenogears since Testsuya Takahashi was previously a Square staff before making and establishing Monolithsoft years before.
So I'm sure someone has probably already told you, but Xenoblade X is not officially connected. But there is DLC that alludes to it being connected. I won't say more since i think you're still playing XB3 but when you get to Future Redeemed, you might want to pay close attenton ;) Also, a little sidenote. The game is not as Story-heavy as the trilogy. Its pretty much an exploration game first, and story second. The story is there, and its actually pretty good. But you have to explore the world and do the side missions in order to really appreciate the experienece. Alot of JRPGs nowadays will guide you through a story and give you freedom while you're still progressing. But XBX makes you the active creator of the story. You have to do the side missions and explore the world in order for the story to unfold
You can for sure because of the Side Quests (the Affinity Missions are the real deal and i have my hopes that ths story will be better in XCXDE). The Grind will also not be as Hard (They improved the System with the items like in XC1DE)
Disagree on being hard to stream, but yes it's more side quest and character focused and less on main story, although they may've made considerable improvements to it.
What are you most excited for with XCXDE?
Just to replay it! I didn't beat it, but damn it's going to be fun with the new edition to see if they added more content and such

I mean (huuuuge SPOILER ALERT),
If the post-credit scene of XC3's Future Redeemed ending has anything to go by, you know with Shulk's and Rex's worlds merging themselves back into one earth again. There's a part a little later in the cutscene where you could see a little bright dot from space slowly going towards earth. Could this tiny bright dot be the element that connects the main XC games with XCX's universe? I dunno. I'm just excited to finally be able to play X on my Switch man.
"I thought this game was old"
No one tell this guy this was made in 2015 on the Wii U
I feel like it was a mistaken "but i thought it was made in 2005 old" Not clicking that 10 years ago was only 2015. Happens
@ShadowSkyX nah thats exactly what I was thinking he meant actually
10 years is still a bit wild to me
I was first under the expression this happened after his chapter 5 experience in 3, but it was just before, still fitting title
Interesting fun fact I never knew, the music composer (or whatever it is) is the same as Attack on Titans anime
I put 100 plus hours before I moved to Seattle in September on my, still working Wii U. And they announced this! I am still amazed how graphical it looks for an underpowered console. Can't wait!
Been waiting nearly a decade to finally play this. Hype!
4:19 this game has no fall damage, unlike Witcher 3 which came out the same year and where you could die from a 5 foot fall down a ladder. 😂
If they had announced this as a launch title for switch 2, it would've been an instant buy for me
I played this years ago on Wii U. It is still one of my favorite games of all time.
2:58 Am I the only one who wasn't disapointed with this reveal ?
best open world ever made , mechas in this game are just amazing....!!!!
Considering that we now need to rebuild LA. we might as well build it inside a giant spaceship!
As someone who has played the original I can say they knew exactly what track to play uncontrollable goes so hard as a battle track and also NEW AREA YES PLEASE AND THAT JET FROM THATS NEW AND AWESOME i didn’t watch the second trailer so this was awesome for me as well X is so dear to my heart just as much as the xenoblade trilogy and yes its not connected most just references but who knows with the new area honestly maybe new lore to it all
You need to get this game OMG!!!!! XENOBLADE THE BEST SAGA!
Xenoblade X was amazing. The improvements and additional content look like they will push this game to new heights!
We get a new character and some explanation of who that knight was except it looks like a member of organization XIII from Kingdom hearts
The music of this game is sooooo good and epic!!!
I see Dee excited, and it makes me want to play too..... I have a backlog off incredible RPGs to play and I am not sure which series I should do next once I'm done with the 2 I'm trying to finish. Future Choices are Persona 3-5, Xenoblade Chronicles, Dragon Quest 11, Paper Mario TTYD, FF9
good lord if they made X a launch title for the Switch 2 with added story omg omg omg!!!
God, I love XCX, so excited for the remaster
I'll have to just come to grips that I can't have an avatar that matches my bust size
You saw Elma as an "Blade" in XC2 which is first time they did an hd update look for her
He didn't actually
@@kaiserxblue ohh missed that part then just remembered he saw Shulk so he skipped her then ^^
@@MrDancingpuppetmon yeah, he skipped or never fought Elma back then. Hence why he is curious about her in this video.
She was always HD xD
@@Mari_Izu haha sure ain't 8-bit XD
Looks amazing 😮
Just gonna say this about this game, if you can see it you can go there. I am exited 😁
So I'm sure someone has probably already told you, but Xenoblade X is not officially connected. But there is DLC that alludes to it being connected. I won't say more since i think you're still playing XB3 but when you get to Future Redeemed, you might want to pay close attenton ;)
Also, a little sidenote.
Deebee dropping videos incredibly consistently 🤘
I LOVE XBCX. It's amazing. It's got it's ups and downs compared to the other games in the series. But it's right up there with them!
Xeno X is not so Story driven like the others. It's more about battle and exploration. It's hard to stream.
You can for sure because of the Side Quests (the Affinity Missions are the real deal and i have my hopes that ths story will be better in XCXDE). The Grind will also not be as Hard (They improved the System with the items like in XC1DE)
The side quests and affinity missions are insanely good and important world building. It's like Majoras Mask in that sense.
Disagree on being hard to stream, but yes it's more side quest and character focused and less on main story, although they may've made considerable improvements to it.
It's more lore heavy, full of side quests and we learn a lot about the world and characters with them.
