Gorgeous, and a worthy testament to Cathal Coughlan and Microdisney. The music lives on.
Completely unique talent. The Fatima Mansions were scary good ! A sad loss indeed.
RIP Cathal. A true giant.
Miss him so so much....definition of a genius and a super caring human....RIP
God love them!
A truly stunning unique band who I worked with many times!
Just feel so grateful to have seen them at The Barbican back in 2018 - and the Mansions about a half dozen times too. But CC's loss is still such a visceral one.
Why did this band not become huge is a question. Great singer, great words, beautifull melodies.
Have become absolutely addicted to this song, beautiful poetry, beautiful insight, beautiful prescience Cathal Coughlan at his best unstoppable and a fantastic musical setting from Sean O'Hagan and the other Microdisney musicians
Yes, it does have that effect. There are a few others as well. Loftholdingswood being one.
Microdisney were such an inspiring band. RIP Cathal Coughlan.
Fantastic. Cathal’s voice is spot on. Loved this music when it came out. Still sounds great.
Superb band...i just re bought 'down the stairs' after 30 years
🤪👍
Absolutely originality in its epitome, and genius arrangements and lyrics, love you guys since i lived in Hamburg 1983
Great bloody band! Totally underrated!
Awesome. Probably my favourite Microdisney song. Still resonant today.
Remember watching Town to Town...now 35 years later, this video. How time flies...
How good does this sound...see you at the Barbican chaps
RIP Cathal. A nod to Morrissey / Smith's video within the lyrics of this beautiful song ...hey, I can take it !My lad was 1 when I first saw your video for Town to Town, he's now nearly 38. Thanks for the music.x
Just watched the video for Town to Town (circa 1986). My god how subdued we become with age. Still a stunning performance .
It's a pleasure to see you guys active, I love your songs! 😍👍
Une musique sauvagement raffinée , un must ! trop mal connu ici en France !
They make it look so easy .
RIP Cathal
love the sound the feeling the music gives , a rhythm that goes with the body,, like a quiet sea Aisha Copenhagen
I love this band so much. They should have been bigger than U2
Hard to imagine that these guys are the same ones on the Town to Town video..pros through n through!
Fantastic song writer
Can't agree more, how good does this sound. Amazing. Still sounds like the original. Solid gold.
What a pleasure to see talent many years on. So relaxed and natural..
Imagine these guys together agin!
wow brilliant ..would love to see these guys perform live
fantastic!
So relaxing to watch..so professional and meaningful. .
Any more of this? So great.
Listening Jan 2020..an epitaph to times gome by...beautiful..
R.I.P. Cathal Coughlan.
A bunch of old timers with more talent in their little finger than any of the ' musicians' today.
Never seen this band but if they're as good as they are here live... I can't wait til they play live again!
This is so nice
Still as casual now as they were in the Town to Town video. Pure professionalism ..
Gorgeous..
Fabulous...still
Sean O'Hagan .. and Cathal Coughlan ... Jesus Christ Almighty ... SUBLIME !
Cathal is a genius
A hidden gem, this album. Some kind of beautiful melancholy paints this songs. I also love their previous "Everybody´s fantastic" album. Unfortunately their last two albums for Virgin were a letdown to me, the magic was gone, though three magnificent singles like "Singer´s Hampstead Home", "Angels" and "Town to town".- Long live to Cathal and Sean
RIP Cathal
Cathal's looking a lot like robocop- which is not expected. Its hard to not try and read something into it- as though he's doing it on purpose as a genius literary device. Imagine if that were true! 4-D PopCulture Chess. AND O'hagen is playing a Squire!
Money for trams. My predictor predicted" trams", how weird is that.
F U * KIN ACE
JB - you look like a lumberjack!
The drummer is steadily slowing down the tempo or it's just that I have the flu and fever makes me delusional ?
Hi hat not as wot u call it....um, Pudsey shuffley as would be desired... But that's them in a nutshell
Uncompromising til the end
Trivial in retrospect
"Lockdown London" -*headbutts pebbledash...
Superb band...i just re bought 'down the stairs' after 30 years
🤪👍
R.I.P. Cathal Coughlan.
So glad they got this recognition, and a chance to play again to audiences happy to see them back. The BBC doc was a good study of a great band who never quite made it. Back in the day I payed “The Clock..” to death, but it felt like a secret world. If I tried playing it to someone else, they’d invariably just look blankly back and say “what is this?….” Their loss.
