I thought Desperado might've been on the list, but the Eagles would've de-monetized the video, then blocked it, and Don Henley would've burned down Rick's studio 😂😂😂
Shocked it wasn't on the list. Tho from my talks with americans and australians I think Scorpions is kind of a forgotten group in the english speaking world, nobody even knew them. Rick might just not listen to them enough to remember their songs in his lists
Like a lot of Rick's regular viewers I'm about the same age as Rick. As I was listening to this countdown, it just occurred to me how lucky I was to be alive and listening to all of these songs when they were released. There's not a lot of great things about getting to be this age in life, but it really is a blessing to be able to think back about the times in your life when these songs were first popular on the radio.
I don’t care about debating the order or which songs should or should have not been included: that was entertaining as hell. Thanks to you and your talented friends.
Yeah I thought that he was the best. They're all great singers but the dude in the hat was a little cringey to me with the facial expressions and head tilting. That's just not my thing but the actual vocals were good though.
“Thank you” by Zep is a great one. But, I was expecting “The Rain Song” to be the main ballad from this band. And ranked in the top 5 of course. Exceptional song.
Or just address the elephant in the room: Stairway to Heaven... Of course there's kind of a merit to find another one to pick and not go for the obvious one, but there are reasons why it's the obvious one...
Saw Bonnie Raitt in concert several years ago and when she did I Can't Make You Love Me the entire venue went so silent you could have heard a pin drop! Respect!
Great performance but lets be honest, this incredible singer has more pronounced bass in his voice than Phil does - and it sounds great, but its more "Michael Bolton does Phil Collins" than a clone of Phil.
Bonnie Rait's "I can't make you love me" gave me chills. Carmen Harvey is a great singer ... all are. And you weren't kidding about chord progressions; amazing how it seems to have become a lost art.
Rick, I am SO incredibly impressed by you. I'm 57 so we're pretty close age-wise. I am an aspiring guitarist who, after dabbling for a long time took it up very seriously last year. Your instruction is fantastic and your countdowns are incredibly well thought out and entertaining. I probably would have had Angie on this list but whatever. I'm sitting on my porch in the middle of Tokyo watching your videos and it's truly awesome. Keep doing what you do!
no offense to the two guys who were great. but man she was awesome. of course she was singing all songs that i absolutely love which may have given me some bias to it.
Don't mind me, I'm gonna come back to this list when I'm making a new playlist lol. 20. She talks to angels 19. Let it be 18. I can't make you love me 17. We've got tonight 16. Against all odds 15. Something 3. Thank you 2. Every breath you take 1. Dream on
How does “Songbird” off of the epic Fleetwood Mac album “Rumours” not make this list? The piano playing and singing by the late Christine McVie is simply beautiful. May she rest in peace.
I am just blown away by the talent in this video. Every vocalist is great. And Carmen Harvey’s voice is incredible. Can’t wait to find more of her singing.
Amazing list but I feel like these songs deserved a spot on the list. 1. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven 2. George Harrison - My Sweet Lord 3. Fleetwood Mac - Dreams 4. Dire Straits - Romeo & Juliet
Great list Rick! Here are my favorites! #1 Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is #2 Bryan Adams - Cuts Like A Knife #3 Styx - Lady #4 Journey - Faithfully #5 Boston - A Man I'll Never Be #6 Heart - Alone #7 Whitesnake - Is This Love #8 Dan Fogelberg - Same Old Lang Syne #9 Beatles - Something #10 Queen - Who Wants To Live Forever

I been reading comments - says a lot about Life in the Time of Corona - and I think your list was the first mention of Foreigner. Like Elton/Bernie, nearly every slot on the list could have been filled with a Foreigner song.
Nice list. Here's mine that I would add to yours. 10cc - I'm Not In Love Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight Heart - Dog and Butterfly Heart - Alone Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven Fleetwood Mac - Song Bird Extreme - More Than Words Def Leppard - Love Bites Chicago - If You Leave Me Now The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger Simon and Garfunkal - The Sound Of Silence Z Z Top - Rough Boy Bryan Adams - Heaven Night Ranger - Sister Christian The Beatles - Yesterday Kansas - Dust In The Wind Kiss - Beth The Rolling Stones - Angie Lynryd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Journey - Faithfully, Scorpions - Still loving you, Firehouse - Love of a lifetime, Journey - Open Arms, Boston - Amanda, Sherriff - When I'm with You, Boston - More Than A Feeling.

Just found this ... absolutely phenomenal! So many memories ... at last half of them brought tears to my eyes ... we definitely need a top 100 balads ... only glaring miss IMHO ... Angie.
Wow, Shane's vocal entry on A Whiter Shade of Pale was so perfect it made me jump out of my seat. Thanks, all, for adding light and life to these dark times.
That was an epic line up. Rick even rockin' the backing vocals as well as flawless instrument playing. Those three vocalist are just amazing. I have never heard of any of them. Well. That's something that can be remedied with UA-cam, Google and iTunes...
Here's some other great classic rock ballads that could have been on the list also. Lou Gramm - I wanna Know what Love Is. Beatles - Yesterday, Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares to You. Joe Cocker - You Are So Beautiful To Me.
Was thinking the same thing. Mark's almost spoken vocal delivery isn't quite up there with most of the others in the ballad list but that guitar tone and his story telling most certainly are. All I do is miss you through the bars of a rhyme. Some great imagery there. Juliet says he it's Romeo you nearly gave me a heart attack, such a funny lyric in the same song. Maybe not in Rick's list but his list made me think of this great song. So that is a positive for me!
great song, Very hard decision, But what about: Scorpions - Still Loving You? Queen - Love of My Life? Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is? Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart? Extreme - More Than Words? Air Supply - All Out Of Love (Great ballads band)? Very long list of great ballads.... :) Anyhow, love your channel!
One of the best videos you've ever made. The singers were excellent, beautiful covers. I would tell you what I thought was my favorite song but I'd have to lie to myself.
Going through my late father's cd's, I came across one he had written, titled "Best rock ballads". His choices were the following: Child in time by Deep Purple Send me an angel by The Scorpions Feels good to me by Black Sabbath Heartbreak station by Cinderella Edie by The Cult Soldier of fortune by Deep Purple Belladonna by UFO Believe in love by The Scorpions Dying for love by Black Sabbath Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin You make me feel by Bonfire November rain by Guns'n'Roses When a blind man cries by Deep Purple Nothing else matters by Metallica You could say that it brought to me exposure to artists I at the time hadn't even heard of and got me interested in going through the work of both the ones I just discovered and others I thought I knew. So I thought I'd share it.
Man, Carmen is such a heartbreaking singer. What a voice! She absolutely nailed everything. I really appreciate that she sang on "Wild Horses;" reminds me of the incredible cover by The Sundays.
“I Wanna Know What Love Is” Foreigner “She’s Gone” Steelheart “Faithfully” and “Open Arms” Journey “Love Song” Tesla “Amanda” Boston “Love Of My Life” Queen
I can imagine how difficult this endeavor was for you. Remote singers, playing piano, guitar, bass and other drums etc.. Filming yourself doing it and putting all of it together seamlessly. Hats off to you. Quite a job. thanks for doing it. Love it. BTW The singers are awesome. Bravo to all of you guys!
Graduating HS in 1974 virtually all these songs were right in my wheelhouse. It was a great time for music and super cool how these songs still have legs to this day.
I mean this in the most respectful way possible, how does it feel graduating 46 years ago? I graduated 5 years ago and I’m going through an existential crisis. I was just wondering how handle that. I can’t even fathom it
At 5:50 Carmen brought tears to my eyes - very well done! That is professional singing right there. Thank you! Damn it! ... and again at 9:26. Great tone but most of all she's emotionally connected to the lyric and its awesome. Nice performances by everyone. I would love to hear more of Carmen. I'll go see if I can find her on Spotify.
Some songs that didn’t make the list but could have made it: “Yesterday” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” by The Beatles, “Angie” by The Rolling Stones, “Epitaph” by King Crimson, and “Lucky Man” by ELP.
Hard to imagine (pun intended) how 'Yesterday' possibly the most covered song of all time not making the list. But as Greg Lake once sang C'est la vie'.
Heaven - Warrant You're All I Need - White Lion Wind Of Change - Scorpion Honestly - Stryper Power of Love - Laura Branigan Where Are You Now - Nazareth Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Rick exceptional once again and I love many of these songs on the list… you’re always so gracious about sharing the spotlight with other talented people as well. A mark of a good teacher and good human being. Maybe I’m Amazed by McCartney and Wings I am glad you have included! Angie by the Stones I didn’t see here but I’ know you like that one too.
Jason, Carmen & Shane are all incredibly talented- awesome performances . Another great list. Was looking for Eagles "I can't tell you why" somewhere in there. And of course there should have been something from Dylan but I know, I know, there's only 20!
Your guest vocalists are exceptional. The instrumentation is also top notch.
I was stunned with the lady's rendition of the Fleetwood Mac track. It was spot on!
Wow. Guest vocalists! Amazing job!! Hats off!!
Amazing talent showcased. I love these appearances.
rig I felt she took it in the direction of The Dixie Chicks.
What is top notch?
I thought Desperado might've been on the list, but the Eagles would've de-monetized the video, then blocked it, and Don Henley would've burned down Rick's studio 😂😂😂
And then Glenn Frey's ghost would forever haunt the charred ruins..._why don't you come to your senses_
Chris Goodwin Yeah, The Eagles were my favorite band growing up but Don Henley is a dick!
Lol I read Despacito
Henley is a dick! (Even tho he's a brilliant drummer & vocalist!)
Blocked from the list because “they are notorious blockers”. Lol
The Scorpions' "Still Lovin' You" instantly came to mind, as it is absolutely unparalleled in my totally objective, incapable of bias, mind.
That song never dies in Philippine soil
Shocked it wasn't on the list. Tho from my talks with americans and australians I think Scorpions is kind of a forgotten group in the english speaking world, nobody even knew them. Rick might just not listen to them enough to remember their songs in his lists
Good pick.....although it seems really biased!😁
yup Still Loving You is the best. But I kinda expected it to be ignored by this channel. They might have not heard it at all.
Or Wind Of Change.
Like a lot of Rick's regular viewers I'm about the same age as Rick. As I was listening to this countdown, it just occurred to me how lucky I was to be alive and listening to all of these songs when they were released. I don’t care about debating the order or which songs should or should have not been included: that was entertaining as hell. Thanks to you and your talented friends.
Agree totally... :)
Told hubs: "The vocalists are doing a real fine job."
His reply: "It's Rick Beato. He's not going to give us some punks." 🤣👍👏
Indeed. Extremely good vocals. In fact, on a couple when i wasn't looking at the computer, i was almost sure it was the original artist.
Rick's on call singers are better than some people who get paid the big bucks. 👏👏👏
Awesome!
Dejan Tesic I’d love to hear the Henry Rollins or Mick Jones version of these ballads
'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' by The Hollies (1969) is a totally amazing ballad as well, one of my favorites.
Vocal magic! Nice!
That's a wonderful song.
Jason Tillery is an incredibly talented vocalist, he has such a vast range! It’s a pleasure to listen and enjoy!
Dang, dude singing "She Talks to Angels" was spot on!!...incredible!
Thanks, Bill!
@@ShaneLeeMusic and of course it wasnt just that song necessarily, you nailed it on the others as well, but that one was literally jaw- dropping!
I thought exactly the same... Great version, would like to hear it complete
Yeah I thought that he was the best. They're all great singers but the dude in the hat was a little cringey to me with the facial expressions and head tilting. That's just not my thing but the actual vocals were good though.
@@SimpleManGuitars1973 agreed
Wow. Carmen Harvey singing "I Can't Make You Love Me" was fantastic.
Agreed. Made me wish I could hear her sing the whole song.
That was the highlight of the video... and I'm not even a Bonnie Raitt fan!
I can't believe she (Carmen) doesn't have a UA-cam channel!
Check out Jeff Coffey’s(formerly of Chicago) version of this song. He does a nice job of it as well.
She burst by tear dam. Wow.
Between Bonnie Raitts singing and Bruce Hornsby's piano I could argue this is top 5. Makes my hair stand on end every time I hear it
“Thank you” by Zep is a great one. But, I was expecting “The Rain Song” to be the main ballad from this band. And ranked in the top 5 of course. Exceptional song.
I agree but both are great Zep tunes. Love them both.
My husband convinced me to play Thank You in our wedding. That is a beautiful song and holds a special place in my heart 33 years later. 💑
Or Ten Years Gone
Or "since I've been loving you"
Or just address the elephant in the room: Stairway to Heaven... Of course there's kind of a merit to find another one to pick and not go for the obvious one, but there are reasons why it's the obvious one...
Saw Bonnie Raitt in concert several years ago and when she did I Can't Make You Love Me the entire venue went so silent you could have heard a pin drop! Respect!
Yes got to see her years ago on a ski slope and again at Fenway with James Taylor and yes she's so respected and loved
Bonnie is a musical genius and my fav female rock artist, along with Joni Mitchell!
For a real treat, look up Bonnie's version of Steve Winwood's Can't Find My Way Home.
Totally in love with Carmen's voice
The guy nailed "Against All Odds", even Phill's voice!!!!!
I thought that was very special. Such a great voice!!
They all did great!
Great performance but lets be honest, this incredible singer has more pronounced bass in his voice than Phil does - and it sounds great, but its more "Michael Bolton does Phil Collins" than a clone of Phil.
Damn! That was amazing
Yup, he's got the voice bang on. 👍
Yeah Angie is an exceptional ballad!
Wow, the gentleman with the ball cap is a fantastic vocalist. He's able to blend his voice to sound like the original artist. A vocal chameleon.
Yeah, I'm really impressed. He's pretty cute too
And his eyes are so sexy!
I just wish he'd stop looking into my soul. Lol
Was surprised that he didn't sung "Whiter Shade of Pale", because he has the similar voice
@@sebastianschroder7942 same
Terrific vocals from all three singers. 'Landslide' was especially beautiful.
It was great. I hope the video doesn't get taken down for it.
Yes! What's her name? Rick didn't put her details in the description
That song always gets me. Carmen’s voice is amazing
Great but one error: it’s mirror in the sky, not river. But her voice is beautiful.
The Fleetwood Mac version is much better than the Dixie Chicks version, oh, I almost forgot, they just changed their name to "The Chicks".
Stairway, Thank You, Since I've Been Loving You, Ten Years Gone, Rain Song, Zeppelin had the best ballads! It's a shame many didn't make the list
They may have been blocked.
Thank You did make the list it was #3.
Some people complaining in these comments do not know what a ballad is judging by the songs they are wondering why are not on the list.
I thought All My Love should have been #1
Tangerine is one of my favorites.
So many good ones! I would add Kansas's "Dust In The Wind" and Styx's "Babe"
Dust in the Wind, yes. Babe, no. Way too sappy! IMHO
Carmen’s ‘Landslide’ was fantastic, wow.
no offense to the two guys who were great. but man she was awesome. of course she was singing all songs that i absolutely love which may have given me some bias to it.
Like Stevie singing the Dixie Chicks version.
Fantastic yes
I was going to comment separately, but you beat me to it. Spine tingling!
Helps that it's probably the most gut-wrenchingly beautiful song ever written. But, yes, she did fantastic!
Don't mind me, I'm gonna come back to this list when I'm making a new playlist lol.

Thank you!
How does “Songbird” off of the epic Fleetwood Mac album “Rumours” not make this list? The piano playing and singing by the late Christine McVie is simply beautiful. May she rest in peace.
The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald may not be Rock, but it is the #1 ballad in my mind, with it’s haunting chords, lyrics and weeping guitar.
One of my all time favorites!
Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits should be up there as one of the best rock ballads. Great guitar work throughout the song!
Yeah that's classic
That is a great song. It's heart wrenching when you can relate.
A New Chapter
And “The Killing of Georgie”.
I prefer Tunnel of Love but they're both amazing songs...
Yep, great lyrics 👌👌👌
I am just blown away by the talent in this video. Every vocalist is great. And Carmen Harvey’s voice is incredible. Can’t wait to find more of her singing.
Her Bonnie Raitt gave chills...
Richard S - Yes. And she’s so calm and controlled when she sings.

1. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

I been reading comments - says a lot about Life in the Time of Corona - and I think your list was the first mention of Foreigner. Like Elton/Bernie, nearly every slot on the list could have been filled with a Foreigner song.
Gary Moore deserves much more recognition in lists like these. 👏
Love the meat loaf inclusion! He is extremely overlooked
Like this list better...
ELO has a lot of great ballads like Telephone Line, Can't Get Out of My Head and Strange Magic
Levi Hockey I love ELO !! Good call .
Levi Hockey Completely agree
Yes!
Great list
Some i would add are:
Prince - purple rain
Pretenders - I'll stand by you
Xtreme - more than words
The instrumental work is top notch, as always, but it's the quality of the vocalists that makes this so exceptional. Made my day!
Nice list. Here's mine that I would add to yours.

Eric Clapton - Tears In Heaven

Heart's "Alone" is an epic ballad-- especially the acoustic live version they perform.

Another great one that is better than some on this list.
Yep, there's another, well remembered
Every time I hear it I get somethin' in my eye.
Omg your female singer had such a perfect voice to sing Landslide that it almost brought me to tears
Journey - Faithfully, Scorpions - Still loving you, Firehouse - Love of a lifetime, Journey - Open Arms, Boston - Amanda, Sherriff - When I'm with You, Boston - More Than A Feeling.
The vocals of Against All Odds are amazing for how close the resemblance is to Phil's vocals. Wow.
“I Can’t Make You Love Me” is one of the greatest, most heartbreaking songs ever written. Just my two cents.
One of the few songs that can make me cry every time I hear it.
Whammy Bard ... I didn’t really start hearing it until I was going through my divorce. Ugh. Great song, regardless.

I'd be adding "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen, "Faithfully" by Journey and "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton
Faithfully is the best Journey ballad. Easily.
i totally agree with you
Wonderful tonight is such a banger
Wonderful's a great song, Eric's Wonderful Guitar is already on the list with "Something."
When I was a kid, I used to think one of the the lines for Behind Blue Eyes was, “you don’t know what it’s like to be the Batman....”
I still sing it that way :)
The production quality of this video off the charts.
Rick has an amazing following because he puts together the best ideas than produces them with the same level of effort I’ll bet he poured into real records.

Something - Beatles
Great vocals from all three singers, but Carmen Harvey singing the Stevie Nicks vocals in the Fleetwood Mack song was fantastic, she's very talented.
The Bonnie Raitt song, too. Her voice sounds like a cross between Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt.
Had the exact same thought - what a spot on Stevie Nicks! But the Bonnie Raitt was the one that really got the waterworks going.
gram40 Carmen is amazing, that gave me serious goose bumps!
I thought this was one of Ricks finest displays of his own talents.
As Rick himself would say... He was in the pocket.
Great playing Rick!
All exceptional pieces and, the guests wow! amazing keep up the great work!!!
Rick - You are the real deal, man! I loved watching you laying down all of the tracks. Nice job and cool idea for a video
"Romeo and Juliet" by Dire Straits and both "She's Always a Woman" and "Just the Way you Are" by Billy Joel are all fantastic ballads as well.
Romeo and Juliet is a fantastic choice! The whole Making Movies album is outstanding.
@@christopherharris3229 It really is an absolutely brilliant album!
@Dissonant Timbres Genuinely my favourite song
Was thinking the same thing. Mark's almost spoken vocal delivery isn't quite up there with most of the others in the ballad list but that guitar tone and his story telling most certainly are. All I do is miss you through the bars of a rhyme. Some great imagery there. Juliet says he it's Romeo you nearly gave me a heart attack, such a funny lyric in the same song. Maybe not in Rick's list but his list made me think of this great song. So that is a positive for me!
Romeo & Juliet, GREAT pic!
great song,
Very hard decision,
But what about:
Scorpions - Still Loving You?
Queen - Love of My Life?
Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is?
Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart?
Extreme - More Than Words?
Air Supply - All Out Of Love (Great ballads band)?
Very long list of great ballads.... :)
Anyhow, love your channel!
He sais it was really dificult to choose😅
This videos could have 100 songs and there were still be many missing. But indeed I missed Love of my Life, bed of roses and Wind of Change
One folks overlook when it comes to ballads is by the most unlikely band and I'd put it on my list. Beth by Kiss.
Love of my life for sure
Air Supply, totally... but might be considered pop, not rock
One of the best videos you've ever made.
The singers were excellent, beautiful covers.
I would tell you what I thought was my favorite song but I'd have to lie to myself.
The singers that performed these songs were outstanding , great video!
Going through my late father's cd's, I came across one he had written, titled "Best rock ballads". His choices were the following:
Child in time by Deep Purple
Send me an angel by The Scorpions
Feels good to me by Black Sabbath
Heartbreak station by Cinderella
Edie by The Cult
Soldier of fortune by Deep Purple
Belladonna by UFO
Believe in love by The Scorpions
Dying for love by Black Sabbath
Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin
You make me feel by Bonfire
November rain by Guns'n'Roses
When a blind man cries by Deep Purple
Nothing else matters by Metallica
You could say that it brought to me exposure to artists I at the time hadn't even heard of and got me interested in going through the work of both the ones I just discovered and others I thought I knew. So I thought I'd share it.
Child In Time is absolutely epic. Also love Edie
It’s a hell of a list.
Your dad had great taste in music! Enjoy the journey.
Man, Carmen is such a heartbreaking singer. What a voice! She absolutely nailed everything. I really appreciate that she sang on "Wild Horses;" reminds me of the incredible cover by The Sundays.
Top list as always Rick, love your work.
Omg the singers on this episode are amazing, the girl singing Landslide and So Far Away is on spot. Wow
I like your list Rick but I would’ve included Nights in White satin from the Moody blues on that list somewhere!
A Quebec, Canada musician, Michel Pagliaro, does an amazing cover of Dock Of The Bay.
Doreen, maybe “Nights., should be number 1.
Two most Iconic songs from that era......Nights in White Satin AND Living in the Past. Stairway to Heaven & Hotel California....2 most overrated.
ghostship85 Hotel California I don’t really think of as a ballad. Desperado is probably the best ballad by the Eagles
I agree I love the moody blues
I’d add Nothing Else Matters, Stairway to Heaven and November Rain
Those fall within the category of power ballads, not ballads. Well, it depends on how specific you wanna be
Also bridge over trouble water
@@torolavgregersen8351 Which is more Folk than Rock.
@@brianbaumann8657 true
I wouldn't.
Great job Rick! You and your team did an awesome job!!!
Jason Tillery's vocal is phenomenal
“I Wanna Know What Love Is” Foreigner
“She’s Gone” Steelheart
“Faithfully” and “Open Arms” Journey
“Love Song” Tesla
“Amanda” Boston
“Love Of My Life” Queen
Yeah, these songs should be on the list. Also, the top 20 is not enough in my opinion, maybe top 30 or 40
I can imagine how difficult this endeavor was for you. Remote singers, playing piano, guitar, bass and other drums etc.. Filming yourself doing it and putting all of it together seamlessly. Hats off to you. Quite a job. thanks for doing it. Love it. BTW The singers are awesome. Bravo to all of you guys!
Nice list Rick and wow your vocalists are absolutely fantastic
Loved this one more than I usually love the others. Dream On... still get goosebumps with that one even though I covered it myself for a while.
Graduating HS in 1974 virtually all these songs were right in my wheelhouse. It was a great time for music and super cool how these songs still have legs to this day.
Same here, [ but I didn't graduate]
I mean this in the most respectful way possible, how does it feel graduating 46 years ago? I graduated 5 years ago and I’m going through an existential crisis. I was just wondering how handle that. I can’t even fathom it
At 5:50 Carmen brought tears to my eyes - very well done! That is professional singing right there. Thank you! Damn it! ... and again at 9:26. Great tone but most of all she's emotionally connected to the lyric and its awesome. Nice performances by everyone. I would love to hear more of Carmen. I'll go see if I can find her on Spotify.
Just discovered your channel. Love it. These singers as well as your playing was great! Thank you.
Exceptional video, you let this great music blossom, thank you so much.
"Nights in White Satin" should have been on this list.
Such an underrated group
Whiter shade of pale
Some songs that didn’t make the list but could have made it: “Yesterday” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” by The Beatles, “Angie” by The Rolling Stones, “Epitaph” by King Crimson, and “Lucky Man” by ELP.
Hard to imagine (pun intended) how 'Yesterday' possibly the most covered song of all time not making the list. But as Greg Lake once sang C'est la vie'.
Layla
Or Faithfully by Journey
Open Arms by Journey and Tuesday’s Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd would’ve also fit very well.
Angie and epitaph wow great songs...
Heaven - Warrant
You're All I Need - White Lion
Wind Of Change - Scorpion
Honestly - Stryper
Power of Love - Laura Branigan
Where Are You Now - Nazareth
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Great list! Love the vocals, especially given the obstacles.
Carmen Harvey just sounded Excellent - need more info about her singing efforts. Thanks for all you do Rick
THE RAIN SONG.
Geovane Rocha Moraleida Gomes in my time of dying or tangerine as well
agreed. guitar part in this song is just amazing
Yes, The Rain Song... number one..!!
One of the best zep songs from the best zep album
Greatest Zep song imho
Another outstanding episode and great work marrying your singers with your music. And yes, Dream On is the ultimate classic rock ballad!!!
Man! Those guests vocalists! WOW! If an album were released with these covers, I’d buy it.
“No one knows what is like to be the Batman...”
Wrong,Adam west knows.
Robert Michalscheck ...and Michael Keaton...and Val Kilmer...and George Clooney...and Christian Bale 😁
"...to be the Sandman..."
"...to be the bad man"
@@robertmichalscheck3072 PURE West!
Thought we’d have “Angie” by the Stones. Great list, Rick!
Jim Gammon I was shocked it wasn’t on his list, considering he has said in the past that Angie is his favourite song.
@@ehess1492 He has early stage dementia, I already told him.
Jim Gammon yeah instead of ‘Landslide’
He probably figured we'd get tired of having Angie on every list he does! 😉 Give some others a chance.
Yes!
This was very good and entertaining all the way through. Please keep going!!!
I'm really shocked that "Dust In The Wind" wasn't included, but it's a fine list, Rick :)
Yes! One of the best by far.
Hard to justify having so many from the beatles/lennon/mccartney and omitting this one
Just dont like that song for some reason, each to their own though!!
sure it's way better than most of this list... also "Hey Jude" and "Yesterday" (Beatles) it's almost a sin to not put them on the top 5 of this list.
Maybe it’s because it’s not a ballad.
"Something" is so perfect. Lovely lyric and progression, great guitar and bass work.
Better than the Beatles song he had! Something is BEAUTIFUL!
@@1badsteed i personally prefer let it be
@@thebookofeli849 Prefer all you will, but you're wrong.
Rick, you and your friends are killers! Capturing the essence & feel of the songs.
I amazed at how well the sound was and you all rock!
Her voice on Wild Horses sent shivers down my spine.
No doubt!!! Man she is just incredible. All of these singers are great
Mine, too. Almost as good as the vocal by Gram Parsons (for whom the song was written) when he was with the Flying Burrito Brothers.
I would've put "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" by CCR on the list
You're not going to get Rick to honor bands like CCR or even the Monkees. He's too busy showering praise on the Beatles. It really gets old.
@@dennisjump8655 i think ccr are one of the top 10 bands ever. They really don't get praise as much as they should
True it is a great song, but not sure it can be categorized as a ballad (slow, romantic, melancholic..)
I'm slowly but surely working through all your videos, this was another audio treat
Jason, Carmen & Shane are all incredibly talented- awesome performances .
Another great list. Was looking for Eagles "I can't tell you why" somewhere in there. And of course there should have been something from Dylan but I know, I know, there's only 20!
Oooff. Excellent list. I would add Heart's "Alone".
That’s a real POWER ballad for sure.
