I think this world needs more female conductors! Karina Canellakis is my newly found favourite.
Dank Simone Lamsma, Karina Canellakis en Radio Filharmonisch Orkest voor dit prachtige concert, gelukkig weer met publiek!
The 1st program, Afro American reminds of Gershwin's Porgy and Bess~~^^
Beautiful performance all around! So great to see Karina on the world stage conducting. I still remember talking to her when we were at the Marlboro music festival when she started getting into conducting. Wonderful to see her shining her light! 🎶✨🔥
Brilliant concert. I'm lost for words (but I'll try anyway 🙂 ).
It must be wonderful to be an instrumentalist talented enough to play with this orchestra and to play for this conductor. Her clarity, expressiveness and deep understanding of the music go way beyond anything I can remember seeing and hearing in many years of exploring classical music. My heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in creating this beautiful video.
Still's jazz, spiritual and hymn infused work was the first African American composition accepted into the concert halls. In the finale, one can feel the aspiration of a people. Price and Walker followed. Yet nearly 100 years later, there is so much for us to do.
Thank you for your comment! I was beginning to think of West Side Story at the end. Apperently we still dont have the will to accept how much African, Caribean and other types of music has influences classical music, This said from a swede.
Canellakis ! toujours aussi belle, et, de jour en jour, dirigeant toujours mieux : avec ou sans baguette, elle est véritablement une réincarnation de Bernstein au féminin !!!
Just wonderful. Loved every minute.
prachtig concert!
Wat een geweldige dirigente en wat een schitterende muziek! Een verademing om eens nieuwe muziek te horen!!!

Oha yaaa
Karina Canellakis is the greatest conductor after Herbert von Karajan.
Sorry I disagree about Karajan. He has to come after Abbado. The only thing Karajan was great at was to promote his big ego.
Een prachtig concert, maar wat is de toegift alstublieft?

Wie is de componist?

This elbow salute is idiotic in the extreme, a ritual for mindless slaves. I wanted to listen to this recording, but this beginning effectively discouraged me.
