Also Audience in s8e5: why she doing that.
Fans with short term memory, man... lmao
😂😊😂
So short memory.
I never said burn them all. I knew she would but part of me was hoping she wouldn't.
“Them all” as in the Lannister army, which she did. Not the million innocent people afterwards who didn’t do anything.

Dozens of ways they could've written this so it made sense... but they went with this.

Madness is like gravity, all it takes is a little push...
Viktor has the right idea! Seriously there are red flags with her the entire show, stilll one of my favorites but her going mad wasn't a matter of if, but when.
Exactly, if people have read about the history of the targaryens then this shouldn't be a total shock
@Viktor Ptychenko but i guess all this previous seasons just showed to us, the transformaton of any people when you dont have ascendency and when you have it...😐
All it takes was D&D on the script department.
The most unreal season of all.
“I am not your little princess. I am Daenerys Stormborn of the blood of old Valyria and I will take what is mine, with fire and blood I will take it”
Yes, but still why this feels so... out of place, so disapointing?
@@tobias064 because it was so rushed and they didn't give a proper reason. People keep saying "oh but there's this foreshadowing in season bla bla where she said or did this" and I say FORESHADOWING ISN'T CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. If they wanted Daenerys to blow everything they should have done it properly and they didn't. You know they didn't do it properly when most of the reactors look confused when she starts burning innocents.
@@tobias064 one of my friends told me the same and he realized that he watched this episode as the continuation of the last one...but to understand GoT you have to remember how many times the temper of daeners was when she didnt listen to her counselors and friends. she always was a stubborn and impulsive girl. She even said she would burn cities to the ground. She lost everything at this point and she is in the city where all her journey of suffering begun. My friend started to watch old episodes and understood that characters in this show are a construction of the entire series. He remmberd her bsession with the iron throne and her vengeance. And now tht hse doesnt have love...she would rule by fear... as Olenna said...be a dragon.
@@zTheWizard they did it properly, you just didn't see it coming. That's the point of a plot twist.
"it was so rushed"? Really. You can clearly see it was coming if you've been paying attention and not blinded by her "Slay Queen" hype.
Was i the only one who actually cheered for Dany in this moment?
Nope me too .
And me
Nope i cheer and weep 😢 cerci didn’t understand the horror she brought till it was to late

It's like talking through Trailer Reactions. If you're watching a trailer for the first time and gabbing through it, you are going to miss things over and over.
Which is why I’m happy I watch it alone
Thats why i watch alone lol
I love the people who give a sigh of relief after the first fly over and then losses it when she starts burning the city because that was my same reaction
Yeah, that was me too; she took off, and I said to my wife, "It's okay, she's probably just going for the Red Keep directly, she's accepted surrenders before," and then Drogon opened up on the streets and I said, blinking, "Or, on the other hand...."
I thought it was funny that one dudes reaction was so over the top...the guys wearing a shirt that says dracarys. Lol the irony
People: Cersei doesn't care about the people
Dany: hold my starbucks cup
dany making cersei look good. cersei blew up a building that had her enemies in it, dany leveled an entire city full of innocents.
@@mimiHTcat those innocents asked for neds head, did the shame thing to cersei and wanted to fck margaery too, wanted tyrion dead after he saved them all, they trashtalked about daenerys when she hadnt done anything shitty *yet* despite trying to save their butts from the dead. Which Cersei, didnt
Big difference between mereen and kingslanding is that mereen people turned to their masters, and KL people turned to daenerys
@@babymetalsheets2764 Yeah all of them were there that day including the kids who weren't even born. 😂
Even Cersei didn't kill random people to avenge how she was striped nacked and humiliated because she understood how the mob works.
And also even nowadays there are still internet and real mobs. If the media condemn someone the vast majority of people are not actually going to ask for proof. Ned Stark was a traitor to them. Just because the audience knows Ned Stark is the good guy doesn't mean the people in KL were wrong for rejoicing in a criminals execution. Margery and Cersei were also criminals in the eyes of the people. 🙄
@@adlerzwei When cersei blew the septor, around 90% of people inside were "innocents" too, i dont see why you take that apart.
And yep, people judging people because mass media said so. We do have stupid people today. Does that mean they have to die? Of course not, and less in these times. But it does mean that those are for sure no innocent people at all.
Are the kids innocents? Sure they are. They are as innocents as the armies that kings/queens throw to the battle for their interests.
You could see in the lannister army eyes, fear, desolation, they even surrendered. They were there to protect their city, didnt do shit wrong. But still no one cares for them when they die in a war because they are supposed to.
To be honest, fighting vs a fast, mobile, flying atomic bomb beast, makes even a soldier as civil as a kid. And again, no one cares what happens to them.
As soldiers depend on their rulers, kids depend on their parents. That's life. If parents fck up, kids get fcked up too. Unfair? Maybe. But happens, and always happened.
The issue i have when you said cersei looked good, is how bad daenerys was showed. The thing is people actually thought daenerys was "the good one" for the entire time. And no. Fcking no. GoT is bad vs worse. The "good ones" get rekt, because you wont win shit being good. So i dont see the point on discussing if one is better than the other while both are sadic bitches
Babymetal Sheets deliberately murdering civilians and sacking a city that had surrendered is a blatant war crime. the people of KL had done nothing dany except fear her, she had no reason to personally go after them.
and sorry but burning one building is very different from burning an entire city.
and the thing is - cersei is not a good person, she isn’t trying to be, she isn’t pretending to be, no one is acting like she is while dany claims to be a hero and savior. that’s the difference.
Cersei: “Power is power!”
Dany: “Hold my coffee.”
Wearing headphones, is this how voices in your head feel?
I can't speak for anymore else, but the voices in MY head, I can describe. And they're very much like a thousand different voices simultaneously. Always in whispers, rolling in like waves of the ocean. I can never make them out, it's nonsense. I've heard it since I can remember (around age 4) and I never thought anything was wrong with it because it was just something that was THERE. I was well into adult life when I began to learn about psychology and "voices in your head" and got really concerned. Yet I've only ever been diagnosed with generalized anxiety, depression and PTSD from abuse. And since mine have never been singular voices that I could make out, and I've never been prompted by them to do anything harmful to myself out anyone else, I pretty much just only told a few very trusted friend and family members and let it go at that. The occurrence of them did lessen as I've aged; I rarely hear them at all anymore. When I do, it's almost comforting, like an old and dear friend, as odd as that may sound. The brain is a fascinating thing, and for all of our knowledge of it, all that we know is still a fraction of what we DON'T. IF you've gotten this far, thanks for reading. I know it's far more than you asked for. It's late, and I'm battling some severe pain, so sleep ain't happening.

By the end of Winds of Winter, eight cities in Essos will have suffered the fate of Kings Landing in the show. Astapor has already burned and Vais Dothrak is next. Mark my words.
we are talking about the girl who locked up her own children to save innocent lives cuz one kid got burned but i guess she was crazy from the beginning and arya was a sweet pie maker .she cant even die in the show if she dies then slavers gonna ruin all those innocent lives she saved again .D&D " kinda forgot " 🤡
Dany finally gave in to the insane impulse. She has been showing signs of instability since season 5, but it was a very subtle one. As things happened arounde her, she was feeling more and more pressure, and if we add the feeling of inadequace and the loved ones that she lost, it was OBVIOUS that she was going to break.
I found a very plausible construction and a spectacular scene
It wasn't very subtle, considering GoT was originally a subtle show. But I guess that it drew in too many 'normies' who really thought that Daenerys was a cool hero in a show filled with evil people. It was exactly subtle enough for GoT. And you see it in this reaction video. People knew it was going to happen. Having Dany fly around and never turning evil and then having a perfect Disney marriage with Jon; that is subversion and betraying the story.
I believe the subtleties started the very first time she revealed her desire for people to bend the knee. If you want people to bow to you that's a strong yet subtle sign of a potential egotistical maniac.
@@Stranzua and who is good in got . Jofrey cercei ? I agree she is a conquerer she is full of rage but most people in got are bad.
Season 5? No, earlier actually. She was always insane and it boggles my mind that people were literally her fanboys and wanted her to win the GoT. It worries me, because if people can't see it in a tv show, it means they also don't see it in real life with the people around them. And that scares me a lot.

Seeing Lannister soldiers ripped apart by swords was also quite gorgeous
Soooo seeing all those innocent children getting burned alive was awesome?? Wow something wrong with you guys
I kinda loved watching her character snap and do something so major and terrifying.. it was disappointing but in a way where I knew she might do it, didn't want her to for obvious reasons, so seeing it happen made me think, "Oh, Dany, no... you really didn't need to do that." But she did and that's life.
This is what I think went inside Dany's mind after the bell is rung.
"What's the civilian for if they will not love me. It's not like I'm gonna be their queen, now that everyone know the truth about Jon. So might as well burn them all."
I’m enjoying every microsecond of this. I warned people they were gonna turn her mad years ago and I got called all kinds of names for it. Vindication feels glorious.
EXACTLY... I am absolutely reveling in my delight as all these people get what they deserved for refusing to see Dany how she WAS instead of how they WANTED her to be. S8 E5 simply opened up all the willfully blind eyes.
Sure. I knew they were gonna turn her mad. I also said that Jon Snow would kill her. We'll find out next episode. What I didn't expect was the show to take a nose dive of a cliff. Well done, D&D. You really subverted my expectations there.
I think everyone knew it . You could understand that she will do everything for power . She is same thing with Cersei , same personalities
.Both of them killed a lot of people because of their passion for power
@@thebackyardbear If they watched the show and had any sense to themselves, they also would have known that Dany turning evil was a likely outcome. This is GoT and during the first three seasons she was a completely out-of-place character. Too boring and too perfect. Then, in the last four seasons more and more they foreshadowed that she could turn evil. Those people you have argued with, they knew. But they couldn't accept.
@@user-it1kt6xn2o honestly i see a huge parallel with the iron throne and the ring from lord of the rings. The closer to Westeros/mt doom, the harder it is to give into power, and both khaleesi and Frodo snapped
Missandei told us what she wanted. Dany granted the last wish of her trusted friend.
By killing thousands of innocents for no reason
Im sure the hundred thousands she murdered are well deserving of Missandeis wise judgement.
Probably my best daenyrs moment. should have did this in season 7, would of had all your dragons.
That would be outstanding, anyway it still the best episode of the show for me :)
Doing this in season seven would've been awesome, because it would definitely set up the tension between Dany and everyone else in Westeros. She would really have had people hating her then, not imagined slights.
Really liked the fact that she went the mad queen route. She followed her dads legacy I guess it’s in her genes.
This video completely blows out of the water all those people that are saying it wasn't earned or that it didn't have an emotional impact. I don't know what people truly experience when I watch and theorize. But here in this video you say the effect of this scene is literally as intended. You see that most people know what is going to happen before it happens. And people respond to it. This video shows that GRRM and d&d did get Daenerys correctly. Both the ending and the execution. This video proves that this sudden drastic shift to mad queen was carried out perfectly.
@Burning City You say nothing at all specific about this scene. You are clearly very mad, but I don't know why. I cannot make an argument about why you should not be mad. But this scene did not subvert expectations. People EXPECTED Dany to burn the city. And she did. It is in the fucking video. If they foreshadowed her burning KL for 8 seasons, then have her menacingly fly about with people screaming "No Dany don't do it." and "No, they are not your enemy" and "She is going for Cercei right." and then she just lands her dragon, hops off, smiles and hugs Jon and nothing happens. That is subverting expectations.

I have been waiting this momment for YEARS!!! I knew it she was going to be the one destroying Kings Landing. Those sweet summer children had NO IDEA!!!!
@Burning City Because she is GREDDY. You are all thinking she went mad when the show has been telling us that she is a very greddy person. Since she landed in Westeros, all Daenerys does is repeat over and over the things "SHE WANTS", she is never greatful for the things she already has it.
She demands the Throne, she demands the North, she demands Sansa to respect her, she demands Jon to desire her, she demands the people of Kings Landing to love her.
Nothing will ever make her happy, she is just a miserable person. and George told us in the books. Her entitlement was always her downfall.

No they knew after episode 4 that's why the rating tanked. It's also why everyone in this reaction is worried, why were they worried if it was "out of nowhere"? Dany was the favorite to win and be the Messiah or whatever
I can't believe they didn't know years ago. She was always cruel and brutal. People say...."only to her enemies"

There were tons of moments that made Dany do what she did and turn into a tyrant. People who complain about haven't been paying attention at all. Drogo and her baby dead, both Viserion and Rheagal dead, Jorah dead, Olenna dead, Missandei dead, been lied to constantly, paranoia, etc. This wasn't random, stop saying that shit. idk but I didnt like what she was doing for a while now so I was like: ah here we go, that explains why she was so off before that as well
@@KarandeepSinghvidz i hear all that, but people dont seem to realise that dany lost jorah & missandei, the only people capable of talking dany down from commiting a massacre. none of this shocks me, because the signs were always there that dany was the final boss, as far as im concerned
People really shouldn't be surprised by this twist too much. Imagine being Dany who has had to watch two of her children murdered and many, many of her close friends slaughtered (including her own child) on the path to trying to free the realm from tyrant rule only to end up alone, unloved, and unwanted by those who she fought and gave everything to protect. Seeing her face before she flew off to destroy King's Landing you could see the anguish and the frustration because taking the Iron Throne wasn't the point anymore, she was just beyond angry. I wish she hadn't done what she did, but psychologically, this makes total sense, and I think the show has done a good job of showing her progression to madness through all of the shit she's had to endure trying to be a good person.

If she stopped after the bells' ring she would be beloved. Her reign would be blessed. And look at King's Landing now. No love, no fear, just ashes. It's really unfair. She locked her dragons up when they accidentally killed one child. There was no justification for her to slaughter thousands of innocent women and children no matter how angry or mad she became over the seasons. It also doesn't help that there wasn't much build up since they only wanted to do 6 episodes.

Same lmao.
Yeah she's a great character. As long as you accept her as a tyrant. She's complex and interesting.
It was hard for me to like her I'll admit, I was afraid they wouldn't go through with it because she's such a huge political statement.
The sjws are furious
@@suzukisixk7 daenerys is not a tyrant she just wants revenge
Hahahaha people so upset. Danny has literally been threatening to burn cities to the ground for 8 seasons.
The fact that people are upset, just goes to show how rushed her character development was. It doesn't really bother me, to be honest. This show made out that the White Walkers would be a serious threat to Westeros for 8 seasons, only to end up as a mild inconvenience to the North.
No, people are upset because they're blinded by the "Slay queen" hype that they cannot see this coming from miles away.
Plenty thinks this episode is great too. It is Game of Thrones. Not your typical movie where the character is 100% good or bad.
@@FirdausMTB A majority don't think it is good. It is officially the worst reviewed episode in GOT history. The reason is up until this point, Dany has always killed people who deserved to die or refused to surrender (like the Tarlys, but that was irrational from Dany). She has always given them a choice and looked out for the small folk. She even locked 2 of her dragons away because there was a possibility Drogon killed a child. Then last season she was like "I will not be the queen of ashes." D&d literally said in a behind the episode: "She is not her father." Dany's character went from helping the ordinary people to massacre the people.

Love how people always conveniently leave out the "but not with the blood of the innocents" and "harm no child" part of the speech.
This is unfounded. Dany NEVER put the iron throne above the lives of innocents during her uprising. She went to yunkai and meeren to free the slaves being crucified and tortured by their masters. Afterwards she stuck around and tried to bring real peace to the eastern cities at great cost. You just allowed D&D to manipulate your mind with a few quotes taken out of context to excuse their lazy writing for a rushed final season
@@curlysage2437 you mean like when she left slavers bay because it wasn't enough and she wanted to conquer westeros? Or when she said she would do it a dozen times before she actually did?
@@suzukisixk7 Yea of course she left because her entire goal was always to conquer Westeros. She just went out of her way to help others who needed it, and tried to rule with fairness. She made a lot of mistakes down the road for sure, but she never showed signs of pure malice and madness. The writers just rushed her character and the overall writing of season 8, it’s not just danys character that was totally butchered. Jon became her simp who repeated the same three lines of dialogue. He watched his men rape and burn civilians without being able to get control. IS THAT JON SNOW? you’re telling me a battle hardened warrior-commander, who died once and fought the white walkers can’t even control his own men? Varys, Tyrion, all of them became shambles of characters to fit a plot that was easily wrapped up. I would’ve been down to watch her dissent into madness over the course of 8 seasons, if that was always the goal. It wasn’t though bcus D&D wanted to move on with their careers at netflix once their source materiel ran out🤷♀️
@@curlysage2437 '' Dany NEVER put the iron throne above the lives of innocents during her uprising''
Let me correct that for you:
Dany NEVER put the lives of innocents above the iron throne. Why the hell did she leave Mereen if that's not the case?
She only cared for the lives of innocents as long as she either acquired power in the process or the grand narrative of a glorious savior to the oppressed people. But as soon as anything goes awry, there she is threatening to burn cities just like in Mereen before Tyrion talked her out of it.
Nope, it's you who are the dupes. GRRM and D&D successfully made you worship a cruel and ruthless tyrant for 7.5 seasons. A big blow to one's sense of morality, not to mention one's ego.
I know it hurts. That's why you scream 'lazy writing' and 'foreshadowing is not character development' till kingdom come. That's why you're STILL commenting after all this time. If GOT was really that bad you'd have forgotten about it by now. But you just can't get over it.
-Burn the slavers: Yay!
-Crucify the masters(even those who wanted to abandon the slave system) Yay!
-Shares desire to burn her enemies and cities to the ground since season 2 and every season there after: Yaas Queen!
-Literally was going to burn an entire slave city w women and children: YASS MUH QUEEN! (until Tyrion talked her out of it)
-Missandei's last words to Danny, Dracarys. Burn them all: YASS GO GET THEM KHALLISI
-Expresses desire to destroy the city in the beginning of this episode. Even goes to say the innocents are as guilty as Cersi: Do it YAASS QUEEN!
-Actually follows through and audience is forced to actually watch scared surrendered soldiers and innocents be raped, murdered and burned alive: WOah Who could have seen this coming?! #notmyqueen
I never understood the Danny hype from earlier seasons. I always felt somthing was wrong with her. you know, with always demanding absolute power and punishing those who dont agree. She was always a tyrant in the making but so many people cheered it on. Anyone who blindly followed and cheered no matter how morally grey her punishments/desires were would gladly cheer on a tyrant IRL until it was too late. Yall cheer for Fire and Blood but only once you are forced to see it it turns you off. But again, its too late now.
WIth that rant aside, bless Ramin Djawadi the music is perfect
thats excactly how tyrants/ dictators are born

*Locks her dragons away after one burned innocent*
Always kills enemies, never civilians
She did take what was hers with fire and blood lol. How many military targets did she destroy lol? All of them. The city surrendered. There was no reason for her to go mad under those circumstances. They only alluded to her going mad, but never actually built up her character that way. Objectively poor writing
@@ash_5644 but there is a reason for her to go mad. she lost everything, she had been betrayed, jon refused her affection, she fears that since jon's heritage is out, there will be an uprising against her and her right as the queen of westeros will be snatched away. the smallfolk are fearing her instead of adoring her. the gods that flipped the coin saw madness, and that became of her. she's in the place that she was supposed to live in, but felt like an outsider, a tyrant.
Dany never harm innocent people in the whole show.
But now she listens the bells and BAM! Hiper insane Mad Queen.
Yeahhhhh!!! Dany is hitler now!!!! Better believe it!!!!
They ruined the show in the last season.
lauvenrose The character build up over the past 7 seasons outweighs that of 2 episodes. She has lost and faced worse in the past and didn’t go mad. Everything she has lost build up for her to burn the Lannister armies and the red keep thus killing cercie, at least that would make sense, but her character has never been built up to kill innocents. She won the iron throne, and before even thinking about cercie her priority was killing innocents. It’s not consistent with her character. Simple has no reason to go mad other than because the writers wanted her to go mad for shock value and some cool scenes.
If you haven't seen her going mad since season 6, then... I dont know what were you people watching to
Pff season 2. Actually no I knew something was wrong with her when she watched her brothers face be melted 😂😂😂
This should also be called...Fans who haven't been paying attention to the show! LOL
JONAS GUTIERREZ you nailed it. Fanbase of « Yasss queen, burn them all » are just blind I think 🤔
Nah it's called bad writing because what happened throughout the entire show was enough to stop her from doing something as stupid as this. Especially when the enemy already surrendered lol I find it hilarious whenever one you people try to justify the stupidity of this episode as " it was foreshadowed " even though the girl was taught time and time again to think and act otherwise.
The writers of this show wrote themselves into a wall that would be a good ending so what they did for this last season was make everyone make stupid decisions to justify their " mad queen " bs. I honestly don't care if the motive was to make Dany into the Mad Queen since the beginning but the delivery was poor af because that's not where the story was going and people who aren't blind who actually see that. I don't know how people watch this entire show and actually believe this episode is accurate in any sort of way but to each their own.
Some people know what character growth is but it's pretty obvious that some don't given the fact all you people say is " it's what she's meant to be "
@@omegacytheartist No you clearly don't understand. This has been set up since season 1, and this sort of major event, will definitely happen in the books also. It is NOT bad writing, the problem is that it's all rushed. Just because you don't agree with how something ends, doesn't mean its bad. The creators have said time and time again, that people will either love the ending, or hate it. We know where you stand anyway.
@@GreenFalcon926 actually it was bad writing from the beginning of season 8 til now lol you can try and sit there and justify what they tried to pull but even the actors/actresses expressed their feelings towards their stupid decisions lol it was also rushed because they don't know the next part of the book. It's quite clear you're going to try to defend it but bad writing is bad writing plain and simple.
@@omegacytheartist No it isn't. Clearly you don't know how things work. This was always going to happen, one way or another. No one knows the next part of the book, and if you have worked in the movie/tv business, which you clearly haven't, you would understand that waiting for the next book to come out, would be an instant no go. So what would you have them do? Wait years until people have forgotten about the show? Improvise and try and drag everything out? The writing isn't bad, it's rushed. That's all. Blaming the writing team is pathetic, they do what they can, with what they've got.
I understand why she did this, tho I don't agree with it, but Daenerys finally snapped....
*SPOILERS*
Shes lost almost everyone she loves/cares about and ppl who loved/cared for her too... She knew she had won this battle but she felt like it didn't matter anymore, even Jon rejected her twice.. and the way she said to Jon "no one loves me here", it was so sad because its true... And she has just gone through so much to get to the Throne.. I'm probably alone in this but, I hope she gets to sit and rule the Throne, (I don't think it will happen tho)... "A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing" Maester Amon said this back in S5... and Dany sadly is alone :(
miri you not alone it is sad 😞
She has known people don't love her in Westeros since the very beginning.... none of what happened in this season makes any type of sense from Dany going mad to Varys flipping the script to Jaimie going back to Tyrion becoming stupid to Arya not having half a brain to Sansa being a jealous idiot to Jon not being able to put people in their places. If Jon and Dany did what Dany did to the Iron fleet in this episode to the army of the dead ? The Dothraki would still be alive .... If Jon had told Dany that he loves her but she needs to understand how things need to be she would have listened .... had Varys and Tyrion advice both Jon and Dany together as per what they wanted to do it would have worked .... if Sansa would have just came at Dany differently things would have worked ..... the writers for this season basically said " fuck all of the character development for each of these characters we need to end it so let's make them all stupid "
@@omegacytheartist actually I remember in the beginning of the show, Viserys being told that ppl were secretly waiting for his return (or that of a Targaryen) I took it as she had some allies in Westeros, sure she probably knew it wouldn't be an easy task to conquer but she was surrounded by ppl that loved/cared for her, even if Westeros wasn't very welcoming... I have enjoyed this season, but maybe the execution/delivery hasn't been great which makes the writing look weak and makes it seem rushed, but going back a few seasons, you can see her "madness" was building up, she just always seem to be in check because of the love she was surrounded by, imo anyway... Now just waiting for last episode.
Yeah Dany ain’t sitting on the Iron Throne. Jon killing her and Bran is gonna take the Iron Throne lol
@@miri5960 Viserys was told that but it was all a lie. Dany in every outbursts would very clearly mention not to harm innocents not to kill children ..... this came out of no where it was bad writing just to fit their ending

@Robert Siegfried Everyone keeps saying next episode they will explain why characters are doing things that don't make sense. When the next episode comes and their is no explanation that makes any sense will you be saying, "Just wait until the prequels, it will all make sense then"
The showrunners wanted out. They were offered season 8 to be 10 episodes and a 10 episode season 9, plus more money and they said nah, we got this in 6. We will just put a whole bunch of spectacle up and the characters will just do things whether it reflects 7 seasons of development.
She been burning people since she got her dragons. Heck she even burned like all the Dothraki commanders in that one building to end a season by lighting the place on fire herself. People really think the daughter of the Mad king wouldn't go crazy with fire. People were blinded by her journey but she's been burning people forever.
Even I admit this scene alone dethrones (ha ha) every shocking twist within the series (Red Wedding included) and is forever ingrained in every fan's mind.... for the very WRONG reasons.

May the REAL villain please stand up?...........Queen of the Ashes
real villains are D&D the writters. What a crappy season
You means "Queen of the madness"?
When I saw this episode I kind of thought it was too easy. Then I saw her face, she was GLARING daggers at the Red Keep and Cercie. This isn't a heel turn people, this is a life time of shit accumulating over the characters life. She was forced to flee from her home because of her father or be killed, she was then mistreated by her brother then ultimately given away for a promise of a golden crown. She was betrayed by one of the people she saved via the death of her husband, the rest of that Khalasar abandon her. After her dragons hatch she is still treated as a after thought because all people want to see are living dragons, so on so on and so on. The bells in my honest opinion didn't help one bit, all the noise, the heat, the anger, pain, sorrow, frustration, she wanted to hurt Cersie and hurt her bad via psychological war fare. Oh also 2 of her children were killed in front of her on 2 separate occasions and one of them she was forced to fight.
I think every reactor who was saying "don't do this" when Dany was first hearing the bells ring already knew what was going to happen. Because that scene is shot in a way to make it look like she's heading for the Red Keep to burn out Cersei.
I honestly didn't notice where she was situated in relation to the Red Keep, but I DID notice the look on her face; she looked like she was having a serious internal struggle, and we all know she wouldn't agonize over the decision to kill Cersei.
It’s not even the fact that she turned into the mad queen. A lot of us were expecting that. It’s the fact that she flipped the switch within two episodes to a point where it’s not even believable that she would after hearing the bells of surrender say “fuck it” and start burning innocents. Dumb and dumber have completely ruined everything.
I think the shit that has happened to her since season 7 is directly responsible for her snapping.
that and two consecutive generations of inbreeding.

If only there were numerous indications she was evil, ever since she happily watched her brother's head melt. Shocking?
Viserys deserved that tbh
Oh yeah coz she was supposed to feel sorry for the man who abused her whole life right?
Right? She have done many good things during the seasons but she has also shown her darker side and never even flinched when she has ordered her soldiers or dragons to kill anyone. And then she comes to a land where no one knows her and only knows what her father tried to do. Then her best friend dies and two of her "children" so it's not strange she has gone mad. But they could have put out more episodes to show the final decent into madness a little better than they have
Viserys was a dick all right, I am not defending him. But when you learn his story, you have a better understanding. It was the first indication she is a psychopath who let her last living relative who raised her and taught everything she knew to die in such an excruciating manner. As soon as she burned an innocent woman who suffered in the hands of those Barbarians because Dany wanted to play god did it..I was against her even though up until that point I liked her because of my extremely limited understanding from the show.
@Real Josh That act against her brother, in itself, can be understandable. But it is where I started to wonder what's in her head. Had it ended there, no problem. She went on to other acts that showed she was pretty much power hungry and cruel, unless you "bent the knee". She threatened to burn cities if they didn't bow down...who does that? Turns out they did bow and she burned them anyway.
In retrospect, the cruelty of his killing and that she didn't recoil even a little bit shows she wasn't bothered by seeing people die horribly.... deserving or not.
The signs were there, just saying where it started.
