I have read his book First Light so many times, I feel I know him.. His way of writing, so very descriptive, you feel you are in the cockpit of that Spitfire yourself..searching through the thick cloud and rain, for home. RIP Boy

So much respect for this man and his colleagues. So many people then did so much for us all. I remember reading about him saying his/their lives peaked in their very early 20’s. The rest of your life would be hard after that acknowledgement. Respect.

I often pass the white hart and sometimes pop in for a quick half, all their pics on the wall with the blackout board with their signatures on in the middle.

They were real men , just got on with the task at hand with little concern for themselves despite the odds stacked against them RIP
