Shorthorn Cattle, Kune Kune Pigs and Fell Ponies at the Gowbarrow Hall Farm - Lake District

Gowbarrow Hall Farm is a family run farm positioned in the idyllic Lake District National Park. The farm is home to Sam and Claire Beaumont, as well as several Shorthorn Cattle, beautiful Fell Ponies and two rather adorable Kune Kune Pigs. Oh and a few deer here and there!
The Beaumont's are passionate about maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape and enriching the wildlife that falls within it. In order to achieve this they have returned to traditional methods of farming.
These include removing all the chemicals and anything artificial from the process, as well as utilizing the "Mob Grazing" approach to farming the Shorthorns. This all helps to boost the land, which in turn promotes huge amounts of bio diversity in both fauna and flora. Ultimately it results in fantastic tasting and responsibly produced meat.
That's where Bennet Lee and Heritage Foods comes in. A specialty food purveyor and restaurateur based in the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong. Bennet is passionate about both feeding and educating his fellow Hongkongers and goes to great lengths to acquire rare heritage breeds for his restaurant and butcher shop from all over the world.
On top of supporting ethical family farmers, Bennet is keen to change the way the world looks at meat. He regularly hosts talks and events where his aim is to share his passion for delicious, healthy and ethical produce. From cooking classes to film nights, Heritage Foods is proving to be a champion of traditional, caring farmers, just like the Beaumonts.
