Tbf breezeango back then was incredible
True.
They both always sucked. Together or seperately.
I was always a fan of Baron Corbin and was rooting for him more than anyone else on Smackdown during the summer of 2017, but as soon as he failed his cash in, it's very obvious that his career (much like his hair) has never been the same
What didn’t help was the fact he had heat backstage because he was arguing with a doctor
Just a small backstage heat destroyed his career. Corbin would've been a way better champion than Damian Priest, but he couldn't 😢
Honestly having the first MITB Womens Ladder match end in Ellsworth winning the briefcase for Carmella was just a plain stupid booking descion and the fact they had to retcon that choice on an episode of SD just shows how they screwed up
Yeah all because it looked like Mella was gonna lose and since she was a heel she needed Ellsworth to help her
I still cheered cause my man ellsworth is a friend and he represents my home city
The booking in the late 2010s was atrocious
No it was phenomenal awesome booking and the people whining are crybaby identity trash who think women's needed something special when in reality they needed to be stfu and be booked the way men are
but here we are still talking about it
This is why WWE ditched brand exclusive PPVs in the modern era 😂
True
Good
tbh they’ll probably go back to doing brand exclusive PPVs if they take the brand split serious
@@briansanchez9859 yeah and they don't which is why hate Survivor Series Raw vs Smackdown and the drafts
If memory serves, Jinder went from getting beat by Gronk to world champion in like 3 weeks
SmackDown had a more fluid card than RAW. It was fitting with the "land of opportunity" gimmick and probably was experimenting an alternative approach of booking things. I remember that they were previously stuck in the same Authority storyline (only rotating the faces involved) for almost 3 straight years (mid 2013-early 2016).
@@user-sw7su5xj3g that is a lame way to excuse idiotic booking completely lacking credibility. With that logic you could as well make Michael Cole champ next week.
Great time
@@rw8185 You are stretching it too far. We are talking about active performers with potential. Mahal looked in great shape and he was a believable champion. Getting beaten by Gronk wasn't as humiliating as you make it sound. NFL players are beasts of nature. A roster full of guys who can potentially beat each other under the right circumstances isn't necessarily a bad idea. It just needs careful booking and execution in terms of in ring psychology. It can make the product more unpredictable, intriguing and innovative, but it's also risky if these guys fail to deliver or connect with the crowd.
@@user-sw7su5xj3ghe hadn’t won a singles match in over a year. He had only ever had one PPV match before his world title victory. I get land of opportunity. It was too much too fast for him
I feel like I remember Battleground 2017 being worse (it had a Punjabi Prison match) but tbh, this whole year was painful for the most part.
And Also,Andre The Giant from Bollywood Great Khali has Arrive entrance to save jinder mahal in punjabi prison match against Randy Orton.
It’s widely considered one of the worst shows ever.
“Nobody even remembered it until I brought it up”
That seems to be the case for a lot of WWE in that era…
Aldo Montoya should have totally been the champ. Finally I’m not the only person to think that and say it out loud lol
I think this is still the only WWE PPV where I fell asleep while watching the show live
I was at this show live in STL, the crowd was so fired up, best crowd I ever been a part of........ man did we get screwed
12:19 that song was such a banger
*is
My wife and I got married in 2017 and Mike and Maria’s song has been her ringtone for most of our relationship.
This was actually my first ever pro wrestling show I got to attend in person.
Congrats 👏. Mine was about a year prior
Thank for this video, I think I remember why I took break from just about this ppv to mania 38
Good thing you didn't come back at Mania 34. Only year where the Women's world title matches were better than the Men's.
One of the reasons why Money in the Bank 2017 was such a bad show is because of the fact that it was a brand exclusive PPV, which REALLY hampers the concept. Elimination Chamber suffered from being a brand exclusive PPV as well, because a concept like that shouldn't be brand exclusive.
The Chamber that year wasnt all that bad that year just really forgettable and really Bray Wyatt winning the WWE championship is only thing people remember about the show but your right centering a chamber exclusive ppv to a brand has proven not a great idea as from 2005-2007 New Years Revolution was Raw Exclusive ppv and the chamber match was the only draw and standout
Chamber 2017 was a good Chamber ppv and Chamber match tbh
@@Kalel2.0yeah
@@zanethind The 2017 Chamber PPV wasn't bad. But it didn't come with its issues being that it was a brand exclusive PPV.
@@onuoraawesome7777 fair
I did not expect an Impractical Jokers reference. This show definitely does feel like someone gave them a pen and paper and told them to book the show for laughs
I still think that "heel manager grabs the briefcase on behalf of their client, because technically it's legal" is a genuinely inventive finish, and one I'm surprised had never been done before... BUT the first ever women's match, with a male manager... neither the time nor the place
Yes! Love these episodes!
On other note NXT was killing it that year...
Need Royal Rumble 2022 next for this series
Aw, I remember liking this show a lot. I'd just gotten back into wrestling after a decade as a lapsed fan and I had a great time watching it. I am afraid to revisit shows from that year now, gotta leave the memories alone 🤣
You've spoiled Mitb 2017 for me, I was just about to watch it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow I’m shocked Frasier didn’t immediately make an episode about this years clash at the castle lol
Why it wasn't a bad show
@@user-jt6jo8ig5p agreed but as a born a bred Scott you know he hated that ending
@Vasher1 Okay that's fair 😂
I enjoyed this video. But. The ending of the ladder matches aside and the Jinder of it all, this is not actually a bad PPV. And the men’s match is an absolute banger.
Calling Jinder Mahal a "mid-carder" is being really generous.
the "oooh" with the wide eyes was perfect 😂
Stomping Grounds but will ladders 😂
14:32 What if Luke just used Wikipedia, it could still be wrong!
We'll never know!!! 😭
The hill that I am willing to die on is that Ellsworth handing the briefcase to Mella was perfect, exactly what a snivelling heel would have done and fit right into the “princess” gimmick.
I join you on that hill. Ellsworth would have gotten involved in any other match why wouldn't he help Carmella win a multi person, no DQ match. Him not interfering would be weird
Imagine if Carmella had cashed in on the night though, then Io Sky would have been the first women to hold the case longer than 24 hours
WWE in 2017 feels like a collective fever dream we all went through. Like it really puts in perspective why AEW's formation less than two years later was such an awakening. We were reminded that big budget wrestling didn't have to be absolute dogshit.
If "Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion" is a reason for this being one of WWEs worst ppv shows, WM40 has to be on that list too since jobberdust is an even worse and more unfit champion than Mahal would have or could have ever been.
Wasn't this the PPV where people had been spreading a rumor about Randy Orton's father having died a few days before so they placed him there to be seen on tv to kill the rumor right away?
No offense but yk your show is bad if the actual highlight is Maria and Mike Kannelis return/debut
While pushing Corbin was nice it shouldn't have been him winning the 2017 MITB Ladder match although yes the actual men's MITB Ladder match itself was pretty good just a bad winner
I've been to both this event and Royal Rumble 2022. No, I'm not OK.
I dont know why MITB was single branded tbh since MITB as a PPV had become a bigger ppv than the B-Shows. In a way it had taken KOTR's place as a big 5 so should always been dual branded
Kotr was never big 5 lol and mitb always had better rewards than kotr. Only this time they used kotr for opportunity to get world title at big ple.
There was big 4 ple until in 2021 or 22 WWE management declared money in the bank to be officially 5th big ple so yeah it's not average b level ple.
Those ple which are above than b level are elimination chamber, crown jewel and clash at castle
Adam Pa-cheesecake 😂
I thought the worst PPV is the super showdown 2020
Ok no lie; malt-a-holic and the Adam Pachesecake are quality pins and I would eat all of that.
*Adam Pachiti
I'll just have a Jack the Java.
18 and life a power ballad? Lol
Why are you trying to hinder Jinder?
Ellsworth is still goat XD (he did the fool role good )
You put some respect on MOJO rawley
Thanks 🎉
Imma be honest, this was my first live wrestling show ever and I very much enjoyed it. The only big blemish as far as my enjoyment is concerned is the ending to the women’s MITB match. Otherwise it was a very solid show.
soo happy Vinny Mac is gone..
Comparing 2017 WWE booking to 2024 AEW rankings(booking) use….. so you’re saying Tony’s as bad as Vince in 2017? I’ll agree
Adam pacheesecake maybe the best joke to come from this channel
If you compare this to Battleground it's night and day
I would say it wasn't one of the worst shows ever. Sure it had it's bad moments but it's usually not what most think of when discussing rotten WWE PPVs. I think the 2017 ranked list had it above a handful of shows.
In terms of future vids, I wouldve asked for Battleground 2017 but I think Fraser has made his feelings clear.
I wanna try the Jack the Java flavor
6:24 - Shit, I kinda do, now.
I was there - my first wwe live show. For some reason every STL ppv I’ve ever seen from WWE sucks, and this was no different. The orton match ended just like the previous ppv, the Maria and Mike Bennett debut was meh, and both ladder matches were seriously deflating. Haven’t gone back to a wwe show since
Remember when Natalya won the the Women's title this same year.
You spelled best wrong. Jinder was champion, don't hinder!
I refuse to try the Adam Pacheesecake unless it has a billboard
0:23 erm arktually, money isnt printed in banks ☝️🤓
Does the Adam Parcheesecake contain Parmesan?
(Sorry, i couldnt help myself, ive been re-watching a lot of WCPW lately :)
Plz can I hav some adum pachezzcake 😂😅
The first ever Women’s MITB match being won by a man.
🤦♂️
It’s pronounced Saint Lewis…
It’s a British thing, they just tend to pronounce the name Louis that way.
(As far as I’m concerned, it’s only St. Loo-ee if you’re talking about the title song from “Meet Me in St. Louis”.)
I was there!
"Leave a comment while you're at it"
No.
This was about the time I started watching less. It’s definitely disheartening to see again
Frazier one thing wrong, introduce yourself as such from Cultaholic Wrestling and THIS IS.... folly but WE"RE STILL GOOD I want the Adam Pacheezecake lol
While we're correcting people; it's "Fraser", not "Frazier".
THIS ERA SUCKED
Women's MITB was won by a dude? Don't remember Natalya holding it 🤔
This guy was brutal
Surprise it didnt do the next damn months show with
A shitty return and hoepful retirement of punjabi prison
A borrrrring flag match
A swuash match with boredom of the kanellis's
Womens 6 tag
I was in attendance for this show, and really, it wasn't that bad. Just the wrong people won....every match.
This would have been a much better video without all the unfunny jokes. Your delivery is awful
Not that bad of a show
👏👏👏👏👏
🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Thank god Vince is gone
Agreed
@@cbfalli agreed for me
Corbin got into a fight with his doctor over concussions that got him buried meanwhile it would've been cool to see James Ellsworth as woman's champion.
I hope they never repeat their mistakes with Jinder Mahal by putting the World Heavyweight Title on Drew McIntyre. Seems like a bad idea to put the title on a Job Guy from 3MB but that's just me.
That's definitely just you
Woosh
That's only on you because drew McIntyre is better and more deserve than your overrated favourite especially Gunther and Cody
@@thegameking3931 woosh
@@nicholasokeefe3632 cry 😭 😂😂
we want jack doing these, frazier is so under with viewers
Opinion is the lowest form of human knowledge.
Something you'll see a lot of in the Comment Section here!
first
baron corbin is the worst wrestler ever.
It's pronounced Nikee not Nike
why is this dude allowed to host a Video? i barely understood him. i hope they will remove him for future Videos.
Oh cmon there isn’t a language barrier dude, you can clearly understand what he’s saying. You’re just choosing to hate.
@@GavinFromAutoglassRepair wtf? how do you wanna know that? im from Germany and yes i can understand english, but hes speaking so unclearly and also so fast that i have real Problems to understand him. but i admit that i also dont like his personality. i prefer Adam 100 times over this Dude.
@@nixda9326 okay, so what makes it any different when Ross & Jack speak? Both have an accent that to some would be hard to understand.
You just admitted it’s because you don’t like him, enough said lol. It’s not because you don’t understand him, it’s because you don’t like him.
@@GavinFromAutoglassRepairits both. i dont like him personally well at least in the Videos and i also have Problems to understand him. i mostly just watch the Videos with Adam.
Baron Corbin should have never even been on the roster.
Why is this man talking so slow 🥱
