When Dark Star Meets Sunlight
This ambient drone features the Old Blood Noise Endeavors reverb pedals Dark Star and Sunlight with a short loop provided by the Pladask Elektrisk Baklengs. The Dark Star is in Pitch Mode with both octave down (my favourite setting), the Sunlight in various modes. Additional little bleeps and bloops are created by the Lichtlaerm Audio Transcendence reverb in s/h (sample & hold) mode. Further modulation is contributed by the Chase Bliss Generation Loss MkII and the Pladask Elektrisk Draume. Stereo delay and reverb by Meris LVX (Curved Space), Eventide H9 (Blackhole) and Eventide Space (Tremoloverb). Full credits of The Pedalboard Orchestra "members" at the end of the video.
All sounds are exclusively from electric guitar, modified by effects pedals, no synthesizers.

Thank you very much 🙌 The low sounds are mainly from the octave down pitch mode of Dark Star. But the Baklengs loop is also playing octave down. 😉 I love these dark sounds. It's a little inspired by Hildur Guðnadóttir. Listen to her Chernobyl soundtrack. 🖤🖤

Another beautiful, inspiring piece! Thank you! When I got the Dark Star and Sunlight, I thought (based on sound samples i'd heard) that I'd be spending more time with the Dark Star, but it's the Sunlight that's been the most surprising. The trick of gating in new sound makes it a very different beast that the average ambient reverb. I particularly like feeding it into distortion or fuzz - getting unpredictable resonances without turning into the mud you can get from ambience->distortion. And then going into the Dark Star to blend the craziness into a more cohesive sound. I've just ordered a patchbay for the big pedalboard to make that sort of experimentation easier...

Thank you very much 🙌 I'm glad you enjoy it. Yes, the Sunlight is a very special delay. That dynamic feature is very unique and I love to play with the Pass mode. I have never played the Sunlight into a fuzz pedal, always the other way. I should try that too. Dark Star at full mix can really smooth out things.
