when I was a kid a friend of mine land me this game. there was no image on the cartridge so my friend tells me that the name of the game was "mutande" that in italian (where we from) means underwear. for me this game was and will always be knonw as mutande.
Similar story here. I played on a friend's gba and he called "peladinho", that in Portuguese means something along the lines of 'little naked (boy)'... I just found out randomly the real name of the game after 17 years...
Excellent adaptation, entertaining from start to finish, it may be repetitive on some occasions but not to the point of annoying. Really recommendable .
I remember this game being extremely hard, but extremely fun when i was younger, also a lot of the animal sprites remind me of little nemo for some reason.
Thanks for making a save point after every challenge and during the stages of the boss battle. I dislike games where you have to start killing the boss all over again after you die. Thanks adventure island on hudgames!
This it a great game. Mind you, there’s a bit of slow down, and it could be a better game if only the Game Boy had a higher screen resolution, but it’s still a good game. I wouldn’t blow huge bucks on it though. I bought the cartridge on it’s own for about 5.00 dollars. And to me that’s the right price for this game.
how do you get all these 1UP's in the eggs at the end of each level? is there a trick to it or is it just coincidence? i figure you must be using a game genie or something.
Is this Adventure Island 1 or 2? I just bought a retro gameboy and it only has Adventure Island 2, even though it's really similar but somehow I felt a bit different with my childhood. The music is different and they have no milk bonus. This is exactly the one I've been looking for!

Nostalgia is awesome, the games back then had more replay value, challenge and you got your money's worth. Nothing hipster about it. You can keep your new games with hand holding challenge, overdone storylines, overbloated budgets, and interactive movie feel. And you know where you can shove them too.

The only way to get the extra prize (a Gameboy) from... whatever that creature is that eats the fake flowerpots is, is to hit it from the back.

Save states, keep loading state until you obtain a 1-Up, splice it into the game movie file and go from there.
On the NES I found a trick to easily get 1ups, all you gotta do is just hit the THIRD egg with your head and you should get a 1up.

This is basically a watered-down version of the second Adventure Island game, and yes, you COULD ride dinos in that one.
