@@Overways Cheers, nah didn't have any qualifications in that area. I did do my bachelor in mechanical engineering before entering the industry, but I never worked a job requiring a degree like that. After getting a foot in the door, I just kind of jumped from job to job. Field Assistants don't need certificates as far as I know, as it's not a trade. Thanks for watching :)
Hi! I like your videos! Thanks for sharing! I’m also in WA atm and looking for an entry level mining job as well. Do you mind telling me what agent did you went to get this job? I feel like doing some fieldy assistant as well 😊 cheers 🤙🏽
Hey Amalia, the agency was called Highgrade Personnel and they are based in Kalgoorlie. There's heaps of places to go. I would also recommend trying Scottford and Fennessy. Was really happy working with them. :)
@Moises Mohamed i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi, from France looking to do this were you on full time or fifo ? 2 week in1 out ? Does it require any qualifications, full driving license or good english ?
Heyo, sorry for the late reply. There's many ways to get a gig. Entry level positions are not that hard to get. Once you get a foot in the door, you can get some hands on experience and from there other positions will open up, as you're already in the industry. For this one I was on a 1:1 roster. We drove to the site since we started from Kalgoorlie and it was explorational work, so no tarmac or mine site, just outback work. Driving license and truck license will be great, but I never had a truck license. Usually you'll have to get an LV ticket (light vehicle) in any mine site as part of the induction process in order to be allowed to drive on site. English is always good, but then again, especially in the mines, they speak Strayan.
HEy geil das gleiche hab ich auch gemacht ! Auch damals in WA für Gold auf meinem 1st year visa, aber bisschen nördlicher. Will bald wieder hin. Weißt du ob die arbeit zählt fürs 2nd year?? und unter welchem punkt man das beschreiben soll: mining supporting service?
Hey, I went through an agency for this one. There's plenty of agencies for mining jobs. However, I did land that other mining job underground first, which pretty much opened up any other job in the industry for me. But fieldy positions are quite common and easy to get. So just look for jobs by the names of: field assistant, fieldy, offsider, nipper, truck driver and stuff like that. Good luck!
Hey bro!! Should i try to apply for field assistant job in Aus? Im from Finland and i dont have actual experience from the job yet. I'm 19 and trying to get a experience of high paying jobs this sounds cool. You got any tips as an European how to get into fifo jobs as an european. Might be kinda rare but defiently worth a shot. My background: I have vocational school metal industry degree. And i have B car driving license in EU. ( Can drive manual cars/automatic)
Hey man, a WHV is definitely enough. I've seen plenty of people in surface drilling jobs, however these jobs did not pay as well as the underground or fieldy work. But that always depends! Having tickets and licenses is helpful but still no guarantee you'll get a job. On the bright side - I don't have any tickets (except some LV-Tickets on some mine sites). It's all about just trying. Once you're in, you're in and can often work your way to better jobs. Look for offsider, fieldy or even trucky positions. Going through agencies is very helpful as well. If you want to get into mining, going to places like Kalgoorlie can definitely help, as it's always good to be, where the actual work is. But there's usually plenty of people in Kalgoorlie trying the same. So it's all about a bit of luck. I got this job because I had a position as an underground offsider before. The underground position was my lucky way in. After that I got a gig as a core technician, which paid very well! Just keep grinding, you'll get a good gig! Good luck!
Well underground was its own world and so is working out bush. Underground was crazier I'd say, mostly because there were a lot of close calls running into boggers, bad ventilation ... clogged holes suddenly unclogging :D long list mate
Hey,, erstmal schade , dass du so wenig Views hast. Find deinen Channel super !
Hey, danke erstmal :) spread the word!

@@person.X. Cheers, well I think I got quite lucky as well. Starting underground opened many doors for me. Most backpackers usually stay on the surface doing RC offsider jobs. Didn't meet any backpackers on the jobs I worked. Went to a hostel in Kalgoorlie once and all the guys there did surface RC or Diamond Drilling. Think getting underground's quite tough. Super happy I got the opportunity!
Danke für das Video Meister! Mega hilfreich und sogar auf deutsch.
Sehr gern, schön, wenn es hilft!
As a trade assistant, they usually ask geo/Boilermakers/Riggers/electrician qualifications or certificate, did you have one of these ?
Awesome video btw mate !

English will be enough to get into a mine it seems. And you get qualifications as you work in the industry.
