You did an amazing Job!!!!!! The remastered version you made is definitely a whole lot better and realistic you definitely made the tornado feel more alive when you added the low wind and you also did a great job adding the thunder from the storm which they diddnt do and the tornado siren at the first scene when Dorothy leave’s Marvels really tells you that there is a tornado warning instead of just guessing if there is because not all storms produce tornadoes
I played the part where Miss Gulch transforms into a witch in slow motion. It turns out that she was the Wicked Witch of the East in the scene, because you can see that the shoes she is wearing are sparkling, meaning that they are the ruby slippers, but I could not find the striped stockings.
The infamous tornado scene with the remastered sound design just takes that scene that was already a little shocking for what it was and makes it look realistic and dark. I do like the effort you put into it. It’s a good experiment. It’s a good representation of what it would sound like. I’m not trying to hate on this but I feel as if though it doesn’t represent the original movie best. I used to like the idea of having the original soundtrack with replacement modern sound FX a few years back but as time grew by, I started thinking to myself “Was this really what was represented back then in their movies?” This was the case when WB put out Superman: The Movie and Batman on 4K for the first time and their Atmos tracks did have their original soundtracks but with modern and added sound FX. I like to have the original audio that’s more immersive and true to its roots the way it can be instead of going to modernize a soundtrack to make it fully immersive. If there was an original track that was already bad, they replace new sound FX to it with the original music. Personally for me, it’s a bad idea to only have the modern sound design with the movie and not including the original audio as an option. Again, I like what you did here. I just don’t like the idea of modernizing a sound design. Makes it feel as if watching a different movie.
