I'm Mexican and I've been living in San Cristóbal for almost 15 years. I was invited to serve as a tourist guide because I'm welcoming a group of people coming from USA that a friend of mine is bringing up to Chiapas this summer. And eventhough I speak a little bit of English I need more useful vocabulary, phrases and expresions in order to show them the city and the interestings landmarks around it. That's why I found this video incredibly helpful to prepare myself to receive my beloved guests. Thank you very much. Greetings and blessings from San Cristóbal de las Casas.
OH MY GOD! We are currently in San Cristobal and LOVE LOVE LOVE the hot cocoa here! We didn't try the cafe you were in yet but will defo do that 😍😍 Thank you for the video and being an inspiration to us!
loved the super relaxed vibe of this video! felt like a nice change of pace to just hang out in a town for the whole video rather than jumping around going on adventures...
The coffee experience looks amazing! My husband roasts his own beans, so we have an appreciation for your tasting. And that market - wow - so impressed with how far Mexico has come from the years we were there on our boat 👍
I love watching your adventures. We have been to Riviera Maya several times. I got to swim in an underground river. Went to Puerto Morales, but being able to explore Mexico like you guys are doing is amazing. Love the beauty and oh the food and drinks look awesome 😋 really enjoying your blogs here in NC.
Thanks so much for sharing - there are so many things I never knew about Mexico...such a beautiful place! I love seeing all, the amazing food - I agree - there’s nothing better than coffee and chocolate together! Thanks for making such great videos...it’s a highlight of my Monday nights to watch you!
Oh wow can’t wait for the next episode. Why am I thinking your first child will be Mexican? Hahahahaha You have made Mexico a place for all to visit because of your channel. Have a good week. ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!

Hi Liz and Dennis! I enjoyed your video it was very good. I didn’t have a favorite part in the video. It was nice to learn everything about that part of Mexico. It was good to see the food they have there. The soups you ate they looked good. I liked the drinks you made and the one you had at the end Liz looked really good. Thank you so much for this video. Can’t wait until next weeks video. Stay safe and safe travels.

We loved this video! Especially learning about pox & the cacao bean(?) info & drinks! It was super interesting! Nice to know you work out & to get a glimpse of that. We’ve often wondered how you stay in shape since you’re always eating yummy food. ❤️
I have seen a few vlogs from San Cris recently. You always bring something new to the table. I loved the coffee and pox tastings. Both were interesting and informative (and inspiring - I want to go!). Thanks for another great video. I have pined all your restaurants and on my map app. Thanks and safe travels!
👍 for Mexico Monday. Bad thing, Chris was “Jonesing” for some coffee after watching. Some of that Pox looked kind of like Mexican moonshine to me. You guys saying you eat a bunch is an understatement.
It's JUST like Mexican moonshine. Dennis did a bit on that but it was such a long video to begin with we didn't keep it in. Glad you enjoyed this and other Mexico Monday videos

I hope you guys go through Puebla on the way back! It’s so beautiful and colonial and so many little towns around the city worth the visit like Cholula with the largest pyramid in the world (the widest at least), the beautiful hilltop town of Atlixco with its eternal spring temps and views of the volcanoes, the nearby town of Chipilo which was founded by northern Italian immigrants where they still speak Veneto and the gastronomic corridor downtown has all the amazing Italian food you can ask for and their gelato is orgasmic! Also the town of Tlaxcala and Val’Quirico and some haciendas like Chautla! I hope you guys visit the Chiapas coffee plantations! They’re so beautiful most were built by German immigrants (whose descendants still own them) and it’s amazing to see these German structures in the Chiapas jungles and mountains! Have an amazing journey and thanks for letting us follow you through my beautiful Mexico! :)

The rural places are filled with small towns or farms. The highway cuts their communities and they must cross (sometimes with animals) throughout the day. The topes slow traffic a bit to help make it a little safer. Still, many locals are hit by cars every year. It's a pain, but I hope this info makes them a little less painful. Love ypur videos.

Pros and cons to both. Accomodations are pretty cheap I. Mexico but touristy spots nightly stays can be expensive. We can cook when we want and we have all of our things (and cats with us). Backpacking you'd have to rent a car to get around or bus. We have our vehicle with us. However driving and rv through Mexico is tough. Mexico's roads were not built for big vehicles like this. - Liz
