JoeBlo2 I'm saying that an R35 is a better car in terms of performance and modern tech that makes it actually enjoyable and comfortable to drive. He literally says in the video that the only reason people like the R34 more is because they are so rare compared to the R35 which you can see just about anywhere you go.
+YutoRadwimps actually id put money on a r34 before r35. Having driven both they're both great in each respect, but it's like comparing a m3 csl to a basic m3. One is just a lot more raw, nimbler lighter and faster.
Ok, so I have watched this video more times than I can remember. No exaggeration, I must have watched it over 40 times right through. I imported my R34 GTR from Japan about 4 years ago and whilst waiting 4 months for it to arrive by boat, this video appeared on UA-cam. I started watching it almost every night with huge excitement and anticipation.
Now while mine was only 420bhp when it arrived, I always wanted to do a big build like Jamie had done. Then guess what? After a year of owning it, the bottom end bearings failed...so like Jamie, I thought 'hey, if the engines coming out, let's build this thing'.
It's taken me 3 years to do my build and I'm still not finished yet. The bottom end is now done with a 2.8 stroker kit (crank, rods, pistons, bearings). The head has been ported and polished with larger HKS 272 10.5 cams. Valve springs, retainers, valve guides and valve stem oil seals all changed. I've got HKS Cam Gears, Tomei Oil Pump, HKS Oil Cooler (already had one, but needed a new one due to bottom end bearings going). Crank trigger kit, ATI balancer, 1500cc injectors, Ethanol sensor (fuel flex sensor), fuel pumps, fuel rail, wide band lambda sensor, AN6 fuel lines, head stud kit, mains stud kit etc. I still need to get the Turbo, Manifold, Downpipe, ECU and Sump Baffle Plates (and I'm sure some other little bits I've forgotten) and hoping to run somewhere around 800/900 depending on wether it's on normal fuel or ethanol.
Every time I lose motivation, or need to relive the dream of driving my car, I come straight back to this video and watch it all over again. Jamie seems like an awesome guy...I tried finding his Insta account but can't find it, so Jamie, if you're out there and reading this, add me on Insta @bjea777 and we can chat all things Skylines.

Grew up in Ohio where a guy had an R32 that was wrongly titled. He would always be buzzing around town when I was early in my teenage years. I've never had a love at first sight moment quite like when I heard an RB26 for the first time in my life pinging off the limiter. I've grown to love the R33 more and I'll hopefully have one someday. Great video man. You're one lucky individual to have the connections in the tuner world you do to drive all of these cool cars.

i've obsessed over the R34 since i was a teenager and jamie is the first person that ones one that i can respect. I've seen people driving them in the snow and on salty roads and they have no respect for the car. its just another vehicle to them. and here i am very passionate about the car but i cant afford one.

My uncle has always worked for Nissan, and having him and my Dad always having fun cars and toys, my family and I have always been the first to know what Nissan is stirring up. Linear delivery with that big fat turbo? You can even hear how UNlinear it is when it hits boost. The white Mine's R34 with the twin turbo build is closer to a linear power delivery, except it's so responsive it's actually explosive, even with 200+ less HP.
That said, still an awesome car. The last of the manic rockets to come out of the Nissan factory. That thing still has a soul and character and it was built with passion more than a business plan unlike most cars nowadays that conform to some unspoken standard of fugliness and gadgetry to please the masses that are more and more clueless about the physics and implications of the driving experience.

The R32 was far more of a land mark vehicle then the R34 was for its time and in terms of performance there really isn't much difference considering there is 10 years between them. I guess the R34 has a more timeless look to it

Nope, no problems. I daily a JDM MR2 and go across to the states all the time. You just can't register it or insure it for street use in the USA. But if you have a Canadian address and driver's license you can drive it down to California (or wherever) and stay there for a few months and drive it around or whatever you want.

TheNerdSwagg I've never owned a Skyline or a Supra. I have no bias towards either of these cars. Check out our channel and you would see I've driven a 1,036 HP Supra and loved it. This is just my opinion! :D Don't worry you don't have to agree :p Drive an R34 GTR and then a Supra and let me know what you think. Both are Japanese icons and amazing in different ways.
You can have a 1000hp supra Mark IV sure, but you can also have a 1000hp R34 GTR(but it will be more expensive to build). Now when you compare these two cars you have to admit the R34 is much more technologically advanced, even super cars in 1999 didn't have an MFD that could read and display many things through sensors on the screen, not to mention the all-wheel drive Attesa Pro system and advanced aerodynamics compared to previous gen skylines. In theory what I'm trying to say is the R34 is a much better track car and it can still be one hell of a drag car( it beat a buggati Veyron in the 1/4 mile for crying out loud). There's a reason why Skyline's are called "Godzilla" and even People in Japan will definetly disagree with you.

Absolutely gorgeous R34.
For the average Joe, this car is now out of the reach for 99% of us. I can only imagine how much the price will skyrocket in 2024.
The reason why I loved these cars is because I grew up with them. There was a garage not far from my house where there were only GT-Rs and Evos and sometimes Subarus. The owner of the garage is now retired but still does some small jobs on these cars. His personal car is a R33 and recently a R34 showed up at his place. He also had a R35 in his shop. The R35 is a lot more rare than the R34 here in Trinidad.

R34's have always been my favourite. Growing up through the years I always intended to swap skyline bits into a Laurel since Skylines will never be legal where I live, that intention has been forgotten but with videos like these, it always seems tempting. On a site note, the 3000GT is one of the most forgotten JDM cars ever.
I live right near Cypress Mountain where you got pulled over, I never knew they were so tight there, but that explains why I never see anyone ripping. Except me in my rav4, haha.
