The Proper Way to mould your beret

An instructional video on how to mould your beret for the RAFAC/ATC.
This is just based off of my experience in the organisation and using the AP1358c as a guide

Another tip here:
- Shower with it often, like 1-2 times a month.
- its recommended to have the beret band go all the way down, touching the right eyebrow and about 0,5 - 1 finger lengths about the left eyebrow.
Styles:
Some like to just pull it down the left side of the face like a pancake, which is fine for some headshapes, but not all. This can also result in ur beret emblem tilting sideways. To combat this, you can pull a little bit on the other side of the beret aswell. Just make sure, you dont let the beret emblem tilt more than 80* degrees downwards. Ppl should always be able to see the emblem.

Classic method - into boiling hot water then into cold then finally back into hot, this “shocks” the wool and crown of beret will shrink better, let rest until cool enough to place on head, then shape it 👍.

hello i’ve just started army cadets i’m enjoying is so much!
Uniform should be coming in 4-6 weeks hopefully next week they all at camp!!
i have some questions
1:do you put it on a bowl after shaping?
2:do you shape it the day before cadets?
3:where do u buy boots from?

I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
1. You can do if you’d like I just used to leave mine on a radiator or table but a bowl could help hold the shape!
2. For me we paraded Monday and Fridays so I would mould mine after parade Friday so it was ready for Monday. If you do it the night before it likely won’t be dry in time for the next day.
3. We were issued boots from Sqn, I bought brown MTP boots from Cadet Direct for a reasonable price!

Step one ditch the black beret and earn a maroon tan or green one step 2 safety razor the fuzz off step 3 take a hot steamy shower with it in shaping and pulling it if it isnt covering the opposite eye your wrong step 4 wear it with 10% regulation 90% attitude

Just drench it in water and put it on your head and stretch it until it flops over knowing your corporals will tell you off for it either way you do it even if it is correct
