That transition through the 'window' revealing you walking by is really cool! Love your video concepts with showing a nice video and how it's made. I wonder how much freedom of movement you've got with this gimbal. Most previous gimbals have such a limited range of motion that it's often annoying to have one.
Beau travail !
I am new to using my phone for this type of "movie" making. I just purchased this gimbal and it is my first one. I am still getting used to all the settings and how they work and how to move the gimbal. This video was very helpful and I will watch it again. I also have subscribed to your channel. Thank you for providing such good info.
Brilliant review - yours is by far the most in-depth, thorough, and informative review I've seen about it - Gonna subscribe for more videos Benett - keep up the good work
Very nice video explaining the Flow Pro features and functions. I especially liked and learned from the how to film where you do the various actual shots and show how to make them! Great Job!
Good job for demonstrating different settings, and outcomes. Wondering about 15ProMax being rather weighty and articulating on the flow Pro handle. I find that still a little cramped and find my wrist quite tired. Having to limit duration of video clips, because of perhaps weight of iPhone,, perhaps more conducive having 15 Pro being smaller
I like this guy, I should be a comedy actor!, getting serious, I had to download the video because of the great ideas he shows us in the video (of all the videos I've seen even the recording tutorials, this video is the one that has given me the most recording ideas with the iPhone and it's not even a video tutorial on how to make videos with the iPhone) definitely insta360 is an option to consider, maybe a luxury that can be done with the "hand" for free, but we love it showing us the capabilities, I would buy it just for the follow-up, you avoid asking a person who doesn't know how to record or take photos to ask him for the favor.
Yes the tilt axis is limited on the original flow too. BUT...hold it out sideways and then move up & the gimbal uses the rotate axis instead giving much greater range.
Oh Benett, you’ve done it again! Your tutorials always push out more valuable content than most others. This Pro gimbal has added some impressive features. One thing, what is the payload for the gimbal. Still 300 g? Thank you for your generosity!
Hi Bennet, excellent, informative and well paced video. One of the best I’ve seen. Just bought the new version (Pro) but there is one function I’m surprised is missing. The gimbal will do auto panning shots (Timelapse) from left to right or right/left and very useful custom tracking shots but only in Timelapse frame rates. I really want to do the same auto panning but with normal video frame rates. Why is this not available. It’s such a basic and easy function to incorporate. It helps enormously with hand held, very slow panning shots of a scene. Any thoughts? Kevin
I have a few questions about the 360 photo mode on the Insta360 Flow Pro gimbal. Can you tell me more about the size of the 360° photo? Is it any beter than an X3 or X4 regarding to resolution, stitching and exposure? Is HDR possible? Is it possible to save the pictures and to stitch those in another 3rd party program?
Have a great video, thank you. I have this and also bought the heart-shaped mag case connection but I’m desperate to find a solution for an ND filter why I don’t need to use a counterweight. If anybody’s got any suggestions, I’m all ears. Lastly, are you aware that you can use the Insta Camera and set it to ProRes and Apple Log?
Hi thanks for the video. Just ordered it, can you tell me if it’s possible to track someone being not always in the center of the frame, for example being tracked at 1/3 of the frame ?
Really great video especially for us beginners learning how to use a gimbal! I'm not impressed with the iPhone native tracking! The original Flow can use Live mode to give tracking in other camera apps. I've not used my original Flow for a while. Does it not offer 360 tracking or is it limited. I see you're using a lav mic but it sounds quite muddy and lacking good high frequency response. Blessings. Keep making great videos!
Glad you like the video and thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback. I‘ll work on the audio. No the pan tracking is limited on the original flow.
How does it mount to the extension pole? Can you put it on say a monopod or full height tripod? What does the spotlight do? I really like how you pointed to the app buttons IN THE APP. Cool.
There is a built in rode however if you want to mount it on a extension pole there is a 1/4 screw at the bottom. The spotlight is a fill light that can be bought separately. Great for filming in low light situations.
Just wondering if its possible to use variable ND filters on the iphone with the Insta 360 flow ? Normally ND filters require using a case, I was interested in the Neewer Phone Cage you reviewed previously which has a 67mm thread for filters but would that be too heavy for the gimbal?
I had the original Flow and returned it because it couldn't set default fps to 60 at 4K, it always revert back to 30 after a restart/power down. Has this been changed?
@@BenettGraezer that works but my question is when you are using extension pole...you won't be able to reach gimbal to keep pressing the trigger button.
I've just bought the insta360 flow basic with an Android phone (samsung s23fe). Before, I had the DJI osmo mobile 6, which was extremely disappointing in terms of tracking (it often lost me) and did things on its own, without me asking it to. I bought the insta360 flow a few days ago, and I'm delighted with its tracking, but I have a problem: the application freezes in the middle of a shoot, and I have to close it and lose my sequence. I hope to find a solution soon. Nevertheless, I hope that tracking on the native or third-party app will arrive on recent Android models, so that I can use the Black magic camera app and be able to use the manual settings that I can't do with the Insta360 app. ps: I'm French, sorry for the translation, I like what you do, I like the way you explain things.
Have you try updating your firmware with you DJI OM6? The tracking performance has been amazingly smooth since I updated mine. so relieved I found this update.
There is a cold shoe mount to the side of the gimbal which you can use to attach a ssd mount from smallrig for example and then mount the ssd on it (Samsung T7 is great) tested it out and it works :).
The Insta360 Flow Pro has a cold shoe mount where you can attach the ssd holder. You could then use a bluetooth mic such as the DJI Mic 2 for recording audio.
Looks good, but is anyone getting bored with the same “steady” boring footage? Maybe it’s just me but I much prefer the more rugged “less perfect” videos
This is a terrible gimbal, I own previous verion and is useles for advanced users. The shape of this gimbal limitts a lot of your movments, handle is too short so you need to extend tripod to grab him securely. I am not recommend this one even if it is a PRO version. But... if you're just vlogging for tiktok then buy this piece of crap :)
@@zazyhuha4870Yes. This comment is very exaggerated. Unless you are doing it for professional filming (in which case I would expect you have a DSLR and a proper gimbal), it works really well (with iPhone better than Android), is way better than handheld, and is more than enough for most of your needs.
The first 30 orders through my Flow Pro affiliate link will receive a free Spotlight!
