Good video. If media converter supports full duplex then is it the single or multi mode fiber cable to be used? And does multi media converter converts the fiber signal into analogue when its is receiving single and when it is sending single it converts into optical signal? so can I say that media converter works as a SFP? THANKS
Hi , I wanted help ... I am using fibre to home from my isp. Is it possible to use media convertor to connect the incoming fibre patch cable to my wifi 6 router ? As the router provided by isp doesn't support wifi 6 & doesn't give optimal speed neither on lan or on wifi as well. If doable then kindly guide me with the process.
Hi there! I understand your concern about the ISP-provided router not supporting WiFi 6 and not delivering optimal speeds. Unfortunately, using a media converter directly at the ISP's end might not be feasible, as they typically use OLT for user connections. However, you can try an alternative approach. Connect the LAN port of the ISP router to the LAN port of your WiFi 6 router( set your isp router in bridge mode ). This way, you're essentially bypassing the ISP router's WiFi capabilities and using your own router for WiFi 6 support. Make sure to configure your WiFi 6 router accordingly, and you should see improved speeds on both LAN and WiFi. Hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
