Glucagon is one of the fat and sugar releasing hormones. It works the opposite of insulin. Look at it like this, insulin is the storage hormone and glucagon is the releasing hormone. If you want to burn fat (lipolysis) you want your insulin to be low and glucagon to be high. How to increase fat burning hormone? - long walks on an empty stomach when insulin levels are low - fasting - low carb diet (low sugar) - eating an optimal amount of protein - short High Intensity Training (HIT)
@@MikeCola There's a lot of science behind high carb low-fat eating too! I know which one I prefer! I like bread, potatoes, rice, sugar, pasta etc. Carbohydrates are life.
Much relief after going through this stuff ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx-ip-9JdKgYMhubLnEjt3OXJkFyS4D2Jd Stress no doubt affects my blood sugar levels. Taking a walk usually helps bring them down. Eating sweets is not my favorite, but if i take a large portion of them, my blood sugar level rises high. I think it's the high concentration of the glucose flowing into the bloodstream all at once. This is a lesson worth taking note of. This is a great material to learn from.
OMG I get fantasized with your extra ordinary drawings.... And I had to repeat it.... Bcz All the I was just thinking that why I can't draw like you.... You are really amazing in your skills 👍👍
Hello there, thanks for the interesting interpreting & explanation, Could you please explain the effect of diabetes on pregnancy and changes it could do? Many thanks.
I really LOVE your videos, they help so much with my studies! I was wondering though, what do you use for a camera (webcam? normal camera with a stand?) because I want to make my own videos in french and don't really know how to film them... also, how do you know when the drawings are on the screen? because you move it a lot, but it's always the right part that's being filmed xP Thank you!
Nice video, I diagnosed with T1 and use the FreeStyle Libre sensor with Blucon transmitter, I track blood glucose readings on watch and phone constantly and the phone beeps at night when the glucose is out of range.
@justinrhodes738 carbohydrate consumption causes elevated plasma glucose, the major driver of insulin secretion. On the other hand, regularly consuming meals without carbohydrate, or only very small amounts of carbohydrate (e.g., leafy greens, cauliflower, etc) keeps blood sugar levels normal, which keeps insulin levels normal. This allows cells throughout your body to maintain all of their routine maintenance activities that insulin otherwise opposes (autophagy, DNA surveillance and repair, antioxidant synthesis and redox homeostasis, sodium homeostasis, stem cell maintenance, and so on). This also allows your body to use fat for fuel, another function opposed by insulin.
i love your videos, but even as a native english speaker trying to learn anatomy/physiology, you talk way too fast! i don't want to have to change the video speed to 0.5 everytime i watch a video!

Low carb diet.... sounds like a recipe for chronic fatigue syndrome.
Hi Gus, there's a lot of good science behind low-carb eating.

Watching at 2023
Brilliant
How to reduce insulin?
@justinrhodes738 carbohydrate consumption causes elevated plasma glucose, the major driver of insulin secretion. On the other hand, regularly consuming meals without carbohydrate, or only very small amounts of carbohydrate (e.g., leafy greens, cauliflower, etc) keeps blood sugar levels normal, which keeps insulin levels normal. This also allows your body to use fat for fuel, another function opposed by insulin.
When you add the percentages up, you get 95%… What is the missing 5%???
