And so here we stand to say goodbye to an old friend. We listen to this song and feel the shivers down our spines, we feel all the emotion this one song brought us and we remember staying on the character screen just to listen to this one song. This will forever remain in my hearts as one of my favourite things ever in gaming.
Though This Rusty Heart Laments, May we ever continue to remember what we Lament for, Good Memories, Good Times, and Good Friends. May all who read this, have something that is worth Lamenting after.
I’ve never played the game. I just heard this soundtrack from a SoundCloud instrumental. It’s peaceful and it made me shed a tear and idk why but i connect to this song. It reminds me of losing something great and life changing and having to overcome the emotions that you feel.
If anyone stumbles upon this and wonders what this game was like... It was a free-to-play dungeon-crawler (Diablo) MMORPG with spectacle combat (Devil May Cry/God of War) and an amazing sound track far above its station. What killed it? The net code wasn't capable to handle the combat strain, especially in PVP. The Korean studio behind it was greenhorn, and while they did a good job making it they didn't know how to maintain it. SEGA's implosion around that time also contributed to its failure. Finally, the cosmetic and character unlock monetization model was relatively new at the time and looked at with far more suspicion than today, which is unfortunate considering it had a respectable (by today's standards) anti pay-2-win philosophy, as the game was primarily PVE while the PVP was relegated to duels. Ultimately, despite a winning formula, the game did not prosper, they didn't make enough money, and poof. Just another case of bad corporate management rather than a bad game...
Never played this game all the way through, made a bunch of different characters and leveled them pretty highly kinda regret not finishing it if there was an end, this game captured me because of the OST I hope the composer got work after this he or she deserves it.
*Vampress sits inside a massive gothic castle dressed in a smart 1920 military style suit (like what Olivier Armstrong wears) and plays this song on a massive pipe organ*
Ouch, haven't been there in a while and kinda shed a tear because of this "news", at least the awesome soundtrack will remain as it's legacy... It was in my opinion the best part of the game and is more or less tied with Ys and Castlevania in my list of best videogame soundtracks
nonetheless there isa point where you have to move on but not forget i reccomend soul worker which will come out in the future . course dont be afraid to mute play rusty hearts music while you play your replacement ;) cause one legend was told this time to gold.

I'm kinda late to reply to this but I'll do it anyway. Check out "Rusty Revolution"
Oh god, i miss this game so much, this song is a perfect encapsulation of how everyone who played rusty hearts felt about it shutting down
I was so in love with this song.
I remember trying to learn to play it on the piano by ear.
Old times, man.
I miss this game so much.

2017 and my heart is still crying. :( one of the best games i've played in my life. it's sad it left us too soon. oh that bittersweet nostalgia
If i think too hard about how beautiful and fun this game was, I could honestly shed multiple tears

SHE LIVES! THE GAME LIVES!
I miss this game :/
Such a peaceful track :)
Unable to get this game off my mind at all. Wish there is another company that will make it playable again. Although it seems impossible.
Well you are in luck because the game is now being brought back on a private server. Look up Rusty Hearts: Revolution. Should be available soon.
Such a good game T_T
Rocks, playing it with friends is For the win ^^
It's no "Character select theme" but at least it had a name. I'll hold fonder memories of this piece. G'Night Tude, definitely wasn't your time.
I WANNA CRY
@PitifulHeartless Sweet, a couple friends recommending it.
make a playlist pls
why is this song ONLY found in the character creation screen now ?
how can i make a playlist of this?
Where was this music at? I don't remeber it while playing rusty hearts... =/
The character picking screen
Been a long while since I last played Rusty Hearts but if I remember correctly this used to be the character select music and later got changed.
Is this that PC game?
i heard rusty hearts is going to be shut down? :(
it already is... never coming back. farewell my great game.

Oh, god I've been waiting for soul workers for ages now; I hope they live up to the hype it's generated and the time the devs have taken
Game is not all the great, I use to keep myself logged on the character selection just so the music would play over and over.
