Salut Oscar, i am using version 1.20b, never wanted to upgrade, so happy with it. but i wanted to let you know that only BI works as source, you can not find GoogleMaps (go...). Not sure why it doesn't work with Google Maps, since they have much better sat imagery than bing. Could i kindly ask you to have a look into that? Thank you so much for your work.
WONDERFUL informative info and video, thank you! A few questions: Is there a list of names to use for roads, runways, houses etc? You just type it in here in the video, but I would like to know WHAT to type in ("this is a runway, this is a taxiway etc"( I hope the question makes sense) 2. In my Ortho tile I got a road that should be gravel, but it shows as asphalt. Is there a way to change that too please? Regards from Denmark, I love your videos and amazing work!!
Here is a list of common OSM tags : wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_Features For roads there is a long set of rules. But pay attention that Ortho4XP is using OSM only for the purpose of cutting the mesh. OSM roads e.g. are used to level the mesh transversally where roads are, but Ortho4XP does not influence how drapped roads included in external overlay sceneries (like X-Europre or the extracted Global/HD/UHD overlays) look : that was decided by the overlay scenery makers (but if you improve the online OSM database maybe next time they will have it right)..
Great video, i am trying to fix some problems since one week, it would be very nice when somebody can give some information about Ortho4XP. LTBA Airport in Istanbul looks very bad in XPlane 11, therefore i used Ortho4XP, a very powerful and nice software. But there is a problem in the mesh, extreme slope is next to the Airport. Street looks like there is a 10 meter declension. Furthermore so many roads overlap or stop somewhere, a cut in the middle of the highway. Therefore i decided to use a OSM Data 'called planet-latest.osm.pbf'. But how can i put this on XPlane 11, how looks the best config in Ortho4XP to generate good streets, tracks, lights etc. Thank you in advance.
You software is so powerful that I'm using for geological purposes. Amazing.
That's interesting. I'd be curious to glance at what your are doing exactly, in case that would bring new ideas.
Thanks Oscar for the amazing tutorial videos!
This truly remarkable. Very well explained and guided. Merci.
Excellent Tutorials !!! Are you planning to make more tutorials like that?
