    Chris is awesome.
My daughter suffers from Anxiety, likely after years of a school system which talks tough about bullying but does nothing.
At the game table when I'm her DM, she can be who she wants and rise above struggles. I'm hoping lessons at the table can inspire her outside the game.

After reading the primary books, I learned to be a DM from watching Chris Perkins. Such a genuinely honest and entertaining person. I hope i can one day be half as compelling a DM as he is.

    What a great interview!
I am amazed that Chris Perkins can do what he does, and even more that he keeps choosing it despite being so introvert and having anxiety - and I am thankful for him and others who are doing it. I have to deal with some pretty nasty stuff from my brain, low level everyday, but sometimes spiking, and being able to watch live streams especially has been a great relief and very welcome distraction for me.
I know of, and have heard of, numerous other people who have had tremendous relief from "visiting with" AI and the like.
Thank you for a wonderful row of interviews, Dungeon Life!
I found you via your appearance on Nerdarchy and already love your work.

Chris is such amazing soul and a humble guy. Probably my introduction to DnD and the first instant of me going "I wanna DM a game for my friends" having no DM or DnD experience ever.

Still doing outstanding, and the words Chris has about anxiety, especially about accepting mistakes, is gigantic for the community at hand. People need to know, and accept, that a mistake is the most amazing thing that can happen to a game at times. Great interview.

I like this interview in particular because he talks about how his players intentionally put his characters in dumb positions for entertainment's sake...
... and he then talks about how he would rather be hiding in his basement, but that's it's good for him to get out and perform in front of everyone.
Good stuff. He's his own character and player.

Love Chris Perkins. I'm sure he'd be happy to hear that his dream of D&D 24/7 is true. I've been able to watch D&D online for the past almost year and a half. It is pretty much all I watch now, making exceptions for anime, and then playing myself of course.

"I don't think I'll ever get over the butterflies and terror, despite having DMed now for over 30 years now." - Chris Perkins 2017

"They'll do things that is not optimal for their characters. Simply because it'll be entertaining or fun or because it is in character for them to behave that way. So, they put themselves in all the glorious predicaments quite nicely. That makes me happy from a story teller point of view." - Chris Perkins 2017

one of the scariest things for me in starting D&D, and then taking on the role of DM, has been trying to manage my anxiety. I don't like performing or being in front of people, even friends, in a situation where my mistakes are on display. I'm fortunate to have an amazing group of players who are supportive, but it also helps to hear that DMs I look up to like Chris experience similar struggles. I'll also say that this game has helped me get through the final stages of grad school, which have been incredibly emotionally taxing - this game provides a creative outlet and escape. From one Canuck to another, Chris, thank you.

Chris Zarathustra, you are my role model as a fellow DM. Got something big planned for a new campaign, and you are the one who inspired me to make it happen. Thank you for all those amazing stories, and tips. You're the best.

Chris Perkins, your campaigns are so entertaining!! Your acquisitions inc. sessions are super fun and inspiring. I'm beginning a campaign for a few friends, i'm building a setting from the ground up! I've started by asking my players to create some background for their adventurers, waiting on one player to give me some background story before I throw them into a new world. Again, thanks for your videos here on youtube they've encouraged me to start being a DM/GM.

Chris Perkins, his unique DM style, and the live AI games were all major inspirations in my getting involved in D&D with 5th edition. The live games amazin props and the players' wonder at their intricacy (thanks to Matt at Czarofhappiness Props!) was also an inspiration for me to start my own terrain crafting channel. D&D, particularly online play, has helped me deal with depression and anxiety in a way that no medication or traditional therapy could match.

Glad this showed up in my 'recommended' videos because I was/am seriously considering giving up role playing games. Too much work to put a group together and get them(us) to gel as a group. I will be running some games at convention and those nerves are always there as what is going to happen. Gamehole Con in November, in which Chris will be there as guest of honor Sadly I tried to run some games on Roll20 but 75% of the players never showed up at game time.
