Years ago when this came out it was a funny song. Now it has a solemn tone to it and reminds me of when my life was just barely starting. Now it's just distant memories as we experiences the throes of time. New generations coming about, making our time seem so long ago
Just gotta hang on and try enjoying the ride called life my friend
I feel the same way. Back in the mid-2010s when I was a naïve high school/college aged kid, part of me really thought it was all gonna last forever. My youth, my friend group, my favorite internet shows/communities like DP. They have all gradually faded away with time, and only recently have I confronted just how quickly that time has passed. I was listening to some compilations from the Best Of DP channel this week and was blown away by all the memories that came vividly rushing back. I was suddenly 18 again, just getting home from my shift at Target and turning on my laptop to watch the latest episode of my favorite stoner-filled podcast. If only there was a way to go back and capture that feeling of teenage carelessness and unlimited potential, if only for a brief moment. Ah fuck, don’t mind me boys just high and depressed tonight lol.
@theonewhoknocks96 TJ paul and scotty have a "new" show called Onion nuggetz that they've been doing for a while. It's not the same, but they're still entertaining.
Yeah it's a weird experience we had with DP, and sad to know those days aren't coming back any time soon :(
I don't want what you're saying to be true, yet it is.
One of the few times an internet reference has been made into a song and not been horribly embarrassing.
*cough* *lazyj* *cough*
Im still coming back to this song always makes me reminisce about better times of DP
I wish T.J. would return. I really do miss the good ol' days.
D.F.F is better anyway, 100% less Ben.
@Чинам не чинам I was skeptical, but after the second episode, and the Manatee episode, I was absolutely hooked. After the Tim Allen episode I looked at Brett Keane's channel, and he was vibrant, STANDING UP, and declaring victory over T.J. I laughed my ass off.
Чинам не чинам Seriously, DFF is so good. I keep forgetting that Ben was ever with them, though at the time I was heartbroken when they broke away
@@dpax2195 still a good song
man, such a vibe. 'I been doin a backwards hadouken since 1992' hits.
DP was a show I watched to escape the fact my parents physically abused me. So when I hear this song it reminds me when I would lock myself in my room and escape from reality by watching an altered perspective. DP was more than a show to me. I loved this song ❤️
I'm sorry you had that experience, both my wife and I are survivors of child abuse and I'm proud of you for getting through it. Thank you so much for listening, and I'm glad that i could offer some sort of comfort.
gosh i miss DP so much, I dont really like the way ben's DP has been going, and DFF is the same dish with different ingrediants. Proud of you for surviving child abuse, that shit is horrible
We love you! ❤We're all still here with you.

The golden era. Honestly makes me wish the good days lasted longer
jesus i love this
this has me choked up, missing the old dp days
im happy you could experience the feels with us
RIP DP. You will be greatly missed. Peasant for life.
Evil Morty Morty it's not dead
Have you seen the views? Yes it is.
The three good hosts have their own show now, fuck DP.
So sad times passed so quickly
Ben's across the country and he's fuckin laughin at me.
Always come back to this masterpiece of lore
fucking awesome
Thanks J! Means a lot coming from you.
Marshal Manson let's collab. Idk how, or when. Your voice is really nice and warm and i think we could combine and destroy the world
Lets do it.
DO IT! JUST DO IT!
You fat neckbearded ducks workin on something or what?
"Santa called that kid fat, still can't believe he did that." Gets me everytime, great stuff!
It´s been 7 years and I still catch myself singing this at times
Miss you, man.
I FUCKING MISS THEM SO MUCH
IT HURTS
there will never been a better podcast than old DP, such beautiful memories
I need this part of my life back.
also, does anyone know what episode santa called a kid fat?
@@airvent6199 Episode 306, starts at about 56:32

I know what you mean. DP has that kind of emotional nostalgia now. I miss it so much.
heard this from the latest DP episode. i like this.
Whenever I am feeling down, I think about how I'm fortunate enough to not be Paul.
At least your not Brett Keane. Brett still has a channel unfortunately...
This is just an actual banger. All these years later.
♫And i've been doing the backwards hadoukens since 1992♫
Every time I find myself frustrated with Paul for engaging with politics from a spite angle and generally being a self-assured, loud, over-emotional asshole about issues with more nuance than he's giving them credit for, I just put this song on and remember; this is nothing new. The man's is just a salt mine
I dont care that this is a DP meme, this song sounds emotional xD
RIP DP. Long Live Deep Fat Fried!
Had to come listen again after the recent Destiny debate. Hard to believe how long it's been.
R.I.P D.P
Also R.I.P Salty Paul, he's a happier man now.
More, I demand more, hide not your talent under a bushel basket
Album on the way :D
this song is the fucking best
I’m not crying, the screen is fucking lagging.
its ok to cry here yo lol Hey, I actually have a new music video out if you want to check it. I worked really hard on it and if you could go over an comment it helps it in the algorithm and it could change my life. Thank you so much ua-cam.com/video/Hupx7wkjYCU/v-deo.html
got this stuck in my head from last nights show 👍👍👍👍
This song honestly brings me so much joy. I find myself singing it sometimes.
Pure nostalgia now. God I miss that show
Legends say Paul is still waiting for that couch from IKEA
Man this song be repeating in my head at work every day all day, i always sing it when no one's around :)
Dude, Paul was so salty in that Mortal Kombat video. It was unreal.
This is obviously a work of true love ❤️
10 months since the guys split, I'm listening to this song with tears in my eyes. The new DP and DFF just aren't the same
Still an absolute gem
As round as a ball now as it was back then.
Out of all the parody songs based on the DP podcast this one is by far the best
I miss the show, especially when tj was smoking, and we had halftime music break
Just heard this on the podcast break. Fucking fire! This is amazing!
You can say what you want about what has become of the OG troupe these days, but DP was truly awesome once upon a time. For me personally, it was a watershed moment in discovering online personalities who shared the same sense of humor as me and my sociopolitical outlook at the time. I’ve grown and changed a lot since the show ended, and hardly ever watch the current incarnation of DP or DFF. Even TJ’s stuff has long since gotten stale and uninspired, sadly. But 2014-16 was a great time to be following these guys; episodes like the election night and #wewerethere will forever live in my memory. And all the wacky characters they introduced us to, from Gail to GTimeJohnny to the Butt King himself provided endless entertainment and laughs.
Anyway, I decided to post this cuz I guess I’m feeling a little melancholic and yearning for a simpler time in life lol. My late high school/college years were made bearable thanks to the Drunken Peasants and even tho I don’t follow any of them anymore, I’ll always be grateful to them for that. They captured lightening in a bottle and provided us with countless memories in our wild, niche corner of the internet.
I understand where you are coming from. I stopped watching DFF years ago cause its alot more boring than I wanted it to be and their humor almost seems like it downgraded and they laugh at things that aren't even nearly as funny as they make it seem but as for DP, I decided to binge the show from episode 1 to the point the cast changed but once I reached that point I actually changed my mind and kept watching and im now on episode 733 and trying to catch up to current date and I can tell you its alot more funny than people give it credit for. There are moments where billy is funnier than TJ ever was and yeah there are still boring episodes but that was always the case even with the OG cast. I strongly recommend you give it another chance and allow billy to grow on you. It is still a top notch show and I personally believe people judged it too harshly and left too quickly and thats coming from someone who has been a TJ fanboy since 2012 and a dp fan since episode 1.
@@pyroAdaptI mostly can’t watch DFF because tj turned into a whiny sjw pussy and watching him now is difficult. Dude Brett keaned himself
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
I only sing the lead part in fifths because Paul deserves more effort
This Song is helping me get through a very hard time right now, thanks man, really, thank you!
This song makes me cry! Thanks for all the memories, you guys helped me through some tough times!
2020 still listen to this
Thank you so much for continuing to listen
Amazing! I actually look forward to hearing this during the DP breaks.
I didn't think I'd like this. Now I'm addicted and I'm bout to download it forevaaar
Life comes at you fast. I forgot about these songs for awhile, and now I can't find At Least I'm not Brett Keane anymore.
Yea I heard that Lazy J's channel went down, im not sure if it still is.
@@ItsAndrooow I was able to find the song on Soundcloud, or one of those sites. Just sucks it's not on UA-cam anymore.

Did Paul ever get his couch? And wtf is his deal with penguins
Still a fucking masterpiece.
I catch myself singing this on a daily basis might be my new favorite song Thank You Marshall Manson you're my hero.
Very few parody or fan songs will have me come back to listen again because they are actually good. This is pretty good.
Salty ball, salt, salty ball
Where did the live version of this go? ☹

This is the best DP fan song ♥
Gonna be honest I just hope you do more music in general. I like your voice man.
You said like Paul which is why I thought he sang this initially.
Aside from the fact that it's funny as hell, it does have a really good sound.
I had this song stuck in my head all day. Well done sir!
i seriously cant stop singing this song. no matter how many times i listen to it i cant shake it
still listening
Did Paul ever find his couch? Asking for a friend
Yea eventually lol
The Tempo and the chord progression of this song reminds me of Michelle Branch's 'All You Wanted' for some reason. When the chorus come up I want to start singing (if you want to, I could save you)
where real men cry
Blows Lazy J outta the water, man. Great work!
Relax
NO! DON'T TELL ME TO RELAX, I AM RELAXED!
Have to agree. LazyJ would never make a song at the expense of one of the peasants.
Two Tone Rebel Right. He never made a song specifically about not liking paul and killing him.
Speaking as myself, the Paul song mentioned here specifically states that Paul acknowledged that he knew he needed to change things. The point is that he's not perfect but that expectations of a podcaster who talks about random shit for a living are stupidly high. Of course, it's already a bit old and outdated. DP tides change quite fast.
This is a beautiful and relevant tune. Embrace the salt.
This song is oddly getting me through a tough time. Thanks a lot Marshal
Can't get enough of this song. Keep the good work!
so long ago
Just heard this on the intro for the latest DP episode.
I gotta say this is some good shit. :)
Totally hooked! Might actually be the premiere thing spawned from the the DP franchise. Fuck yea!
Oh man, this made me smile. I like what you got, good job!
That chorus is perfect.
This is a greatest thing to come from DP.
you're next song should be wild assumption of what Happened in Atlantic City
lmfao. I just might do that.
Marshal Manson like each verse is from a different peasants POV on different scenarios. no Paul of course
Marshal Manson fucking TJ finds the Tia lady boy he bought dead in his room and they all cover it up
Potato Gaming That sounds like a great idea
Man this song is actually really catchy :P Been stuck in my head for days now XD
This song is legitimately good. I normally don't care for comedic music, and I always skip DP's break music, but this is the one song that I always stick around for.
Thanks man. Yea I feel that way about TenaciousD I wouldn't normally like that shit, but I love their songs.
For sure. My issue with comedy music is that, even if it's initially funny, the joke wears down after you hear it so many times, and I start skipping the tracks so I can hear something more musically substantive.
But again, great job with this one. It's simple, but effective and surprisingly moody.
best fan made song i've ever heard. saaaaaaalty paaaauul rouund as a baaaaaall. i cri evritiem
Now this is art, proper art. Beautifully done, sir. 👍
Thanks so much Breene.
wenever i get home from work and play this song. i always crack up halfway through "singing" the part that say "bens across the room and he's laughing at me".... i just imagine pauls saulty face round a ball. oh i do lovve him. no homo.
