It's not you guys, it's the overall standard had improved from all regions that in turn made fights more unpredictable imo, probably best to learn regions style more in order for a better plan, when teams are more balanced between them defensive plays became much more important in the world of rng, that's how I credited to apac north rise since it's in their bones from start
Some truth to this for sure, tsm played good, many teams played great though, and teams from other regions can def be different to read at times for NA teams

shitty rings and teams greifing tsm, its an accomplishment even getting to finals
I kept saying that to myself, that TSM was good but everyone else got better, but you can see that as soon as a full team pushed TSM, they got dispersed and put up a weak fight. Hurts me to say this as I'm a big fan but I could see the cracks for a short while now.

I hear and see many valid points, but straight up Hal is the best Horizon in the game. Makes zero sense to not have Hal on Horizon. The legend meta/team comp does not suit the strengths of the team. It should be Hal on Horizon, Evan on Bloodhound, Reps on Bangalore (Storm Point) OR Reps on Caustic (World's Edge). With these team comps you guys can take early position in zone with limited loot (if need be) and still do well, or you have more offensive/fragging potential and maneuverability with Horizon IF you need to play edge/late rotate. Your 3v3's would be better with Horizon in the mix. The vertical movement of Horizon Q adds an extra element that supports your fights, same with Horizon's ultimate. Hal on Horizon entry fragger opens up with Horizon Q and Black Hole while Reps on Bangalore or Caustic uses smoke/gas to obscure their vision. This distracts the opponents while Evan pops Bloodhound ultimate and starts dropping the distracted opponents. Easy. Run this comp. Trust me.

I agree with you. Evan is not THAT BAD at Bloodhound. He is one of the best players in the world. I think he could have figured it out. Obviously not a pro, or a coach, but I was so confused at the idea of someone like Verhulst not playing a character well.
The last couple of scrims Hal stated that he didn’t like playing horizon. I can’t remember why he said it.

I rate the poi was the issue on Storm Point. Every lan storm catcher is always contested. It's such a large space that the contest is barely a contest in its traditional form

In a way yes, but i also notice that hal shots calling way too fast evan and jordan couldn’t keep up at all and out of position to make a trade and always left them in a bad position.

Yes their position during fights always getting thirds from range and lose them the fight.
That ssg fight near wall in grand finals was a good example of that. You downed one and did 100 to another that fight and they seemed to do barely 100 damage between them but also go down to 40hp. Something needs to change that's for sure, I don't think it's a coach issue when its about the 3v3s.
I disagree with Hal saying it wasn’t the comp… The comp, the unwillingness to play where their coach planned for them to play seemed like it made everyone sour. Try blocking that out of your mental game, losing 3v3 after 3v3 and it just compounds. It’s like beating your head off the wall on repeat. Tournament earnings def reflect this team is cohesive. Just because every other team disbands doesn’t mean TSM needs to make a move.

@@curtis4982 yeah I agree completely. The mentality aspect of losing so many fights is underrated when talking about the game at such a high level. But he did mention this started prior to this lan, that their team fighting was poor beforehand. That couldn't have helped going into it. Hopefully they can regain momentum in split 2. Their lack of role versatility I think is another issue. The comp is correct but can they play them all well? I don't think so
@@cian1985 right, I agree. Didn’t actually know about the inner team bit but it makes sense. If things aren’t going too well as a whole beforehand it’s tough to wipe the slate prior to a big event when the stakes are high. Let’s see what split 2 holds!

From my perspective Evan isnt a good anchor... thats for reps..let evan frag like snipe did.... Ravens Character choices and POI's were trash and we lost our identities being the best fighting team in the game which is why we were contested on both maps. Pulling for the comeback! #TSM
everybody has a bad day - or a bad tournament....
Game 1 and game 4 were avoidable. Game 1 Jordan decides to finish his bat instead of Bang ulting first then batting before the ult procs. Ulting earlier would've given less time for the third party to arrive where tsm could actually get those kills before getting eliminated by the third party. One of them could've even maybe survived. Game 2 and 3 the zones were ass and they were unfortunate to have bad positioning. Simply unlucky. Game 4, they got eliminated merely because Jordan and Evan didn't take height. They just stayed down there shooting without cover. Game 5 onwards it seemed they lost hope. It also seemed like Hal was making less calls and wasn't making those calls aggressively. TSM wins more when he calls the shots and it felt like he wasn't doing that the way he usually does. But what do I know I'm really just a casual Apex player. It's just some things I noticed though.

Been watching you guys for a long time. Ok so here my input on what I see based on the team setup, I don’t understand why you guys made the decision to make Evan play caustic or just a defensive type of player In general, Evan’s strengthsis in attacking I kind of see you took the lead on that Hal this season which doesn’t make sense to me you give the commands so you shouldn’t be the first one in a fight, reps without a doubt should be the defensive player, Evan lead, you middle command and jordan defend that’s why you guys had so much success last season this season you guys pretty much buffed Evan. So easy to see from an outsider view always watching you guys play.

To be fair, I think TSM has accepted playing edge a lot more than they used to. There was multiple times they were one of the last teams to rotate into zone. If they sped up there rotation early games, I think that would be beneficial. Forcing fights cause you have to rotate in is never a good strategy. The OG’s know what I mean. Even when they had a far rotation they used to still rotate quickly
I wouldn't say rotation was the problem. You rotate too early, then you're stuck with blue shield in end game. You have to find the balance or commit to playing full edge like DSG and Aurora. Plus, most of the zones they got were odd ones and hard to predict. I assume that's why they brought caustic into storm point even though they've mentioned several of times caustic is trash in storm point. With the zones i've seen lately, you must run a controller legend in your team. But all teams think the same way, if they wanted to rotate faster based on the zones they had, they would've needed a valkyrie. Most good spots were already taken in ring before round 1 ended. You're talking like 2 minutes or less and there were no spots to play and you are forced to play edge and take fights as you go into zone.
If you want to dominate, drop Evan and Raven and pick up Sweet. Nothing wrong with either of them, but this would get the passion burning again
I think Fun, Hal and Evan would be a great trio. Like for TSM to see this. No disrespect for Jordan but he should step it up

As much as I wanted to see the guys win, I can’t help but notice that Hal made a ton of questionable decisions/threw several times/went down where it wasn’t necessary during the competition. Better luck next time, fellas.

I just don’t understand the drop honestly. Y’all couldnt rotate successfully or peacefully out of thunderwatch the few times y’all DID win that initial 3v3 on overwatch tower. I just really didn’t like y’all’s drop spot.

That still comes down to 3 v 3's if you're referring to contest. The drop isn't the issue if they can't win 3 v 3's or contest. You could drop in the best spot and still die on contest or get taken out in your first 3 v 3s. Lighting rod is not necessarily bad unless you have to rotate south or south west like they had to 80 percent of their storm point games. They needed to play for that trident since they weren't running a valk. They let legends gaming just take it without a fight whenever they weren't contested.

I think the teamplay which hal played Was not really good. It is not the only thing who was bad but in my opinion the biggest... bad calls, bad moves, Solo pushes without lookin "where is my team". All together... but look up!

This whole split was weird for TSM in my opinion. Seemed like Hal and Evan were uncomfortable with their characters. Evan in general seemed disconnected from the team. I honestly think they would have done better if Hal went back to Horizon and put Evan on Hound.
@TSM ImperialHal I watched every single scrim and every single tournament you guys play for years. When you picked up Evan after Snipedown left. For this latest meta, Hal you need to stay on bloodhound because you know exactly when and where to scan to get split second information and tell Jordan and Evan to push isolated players in seconds. Idk whose idea it was to change up the character chemistry you lost so many 3v3s when you had no blood hound and conduit or horizon was substituted in. RR shouldn’t have won many 3v3s off the beginning contest but they did because they had a scan character and TSM didn’t. Also have Evan push with you because he’s not as good at anchoring staying still. He goes down first too fast when anchoring or rotating last behind you and Jordan. Evan needs to be unleashed to use his insane gun skill strength. Jordan is far better at anchoring. I know comps are MAP specific but You on blood, Jordan on caustic, and Evan on bang. That was one comp you didn’t try. You also had the most success as blood/bang/caustic but Evan was on caustic and Jordan was on bang. Try switching it and I think you would be even better as a trio. I would like to discuss more with you. Always had mad respect for your IGL. Good shit winning lan in the past. Those 3 games in a row was an incredible comeback. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
You make a lot of good points. One thing i'd like to add is their contested in lighting rod (especially against RR) i don't know why they let one player take that building and hold it. They could easily just triple or double land on the solo player in the building to take him out early or force that player to drop with his teammates. I never understood why they would let that solo land there without a fight. That player would just hold that building why his teammates looted and pushed to help out. I think they could've easily won every contest against them just by double landing that building with one player landing where Hal landed and all three just push that solo and kill him. I just think they gave that player too much room to work with.

@@BigSuzpekt I agree. They should have punished RR for split holding. But they didn't have blood hound so they were playing far more passive than usual off the beginning contest. Also, the moment Evan switched off Valk he started to feel far less confident in positioning. He is very good at gaining the height with Valk in the right moments but playing caustic goes against his aggressive play style nature. You saw the superman gif being unshackled? I get why he would feel that way. He shouldn't be anchoring he should be pushing with Hal every time they approach a 3v3.
