i don’t understand how anyone beside costume and set designers( who indeed underwent a massive task) can be nominated for this film, which, in the end, was mostly a 2 hour long commercial. i couldn’t watch it more than once, and even that was grueling and i almost gave up, but in the end wanted to see what was all the fuss about. the”hi, ken, hi, barbie, hi, barbie, hi, barbie, hi, ken” moment seemed INTERMINABLE.
Maybe Hillary Clinton should occupy herself with other activities, not virtue-signaling, giving her opinions about movies. I'm a woman, I had a barbie doll, like most little girls, and I watched the movie in the cinema, and it was a fun, good movie, but not exceptional at all. It was a good, fun comedy with satire elements, yes, but too preachy at the end and it wasn't great in any measure. It was ok. The other movies nominated are miles better and more sublime. And we actually had real Oscars snubs in the history of the cinema, and plenty of iconic filmmakers and artists who deserved Oscars 1000000000000 times more than Margot Robbie and Greta, didn't get it either. The one obvious example out of many is Alfred Hitchcock - now, this is an Oscar snub, Barbie isn't! The Academy finally got it right this year.
umm, everyone nominated is based on their individual performances, if i was a costar in a movie, and some actor was recognized as delivering a stellar performance, i wouldn't automatically assume i should be nominated too !!! i cant believe this is even a thing
Fake outrage. Anyone who watched more than one of the Oscar favorite movies knows Margot Robbie was never a favorite to be nominated and it can't even count as a snub. Bigger shocker is how the heck America Ferrera got a nomination. Mainstream blockbuster films hardly ever get lots of nominations. Barbie got EIGHT. To act like this is some tragedy just because Robbie and Gerwig didn't get nods (and they BOTH actually did in separate categories), is just ridiculous. Also, go away Hillary.
@@majasavic1456 Barbie is based off a $700milion dollar brand from a multibillion dollar toy company. And the marketing budget for this movie cost more money than it actually took to produce it. It was absolutely designed to be a summer blockbuster.
An even bigger shocker is that you mentioned America Ferrera getting nominated but not Ryan Gosling. Oh wait, he’s a man so he obviously had to be nominated.

Extremely disappointed that Greta and Margo weren’t acknowledged for their brilliant work in a movie about how patriarchy treats women in all its aspects, including in a doll’s world. This wasn’t a simple film To pull off. It pays dues to other brilliant films like 2002: A Space Odyssey in the opening and creates a smart take on how the doll was both lived and hated by young girls,Great script. What, Margo and Greta aren’t packing a nuclear bomb so they are unworthy of a nomination? Give us a break.
No nuclear bomb or any kind of real bomb, grenade or gun, no blood and gore, or bullets or psychopathic characters (idolised and deeply respected by the Academy who just love handing over Oscars for the portrayal of psychopathy...) no endless angst, no endless misery or mindless violence ...just beauty and fantasy and humour, music and romance, but for some reason this kind of film gets no respect ? Seriously ???
If you want your kids to learn values then be an example yourself. Barbie movie offers nothing, except marketing to a plastic doll and parent to go broke from buying it. ugh
Maybe it's just not a very good movie. We need to quit giving women participation trophies just for participating in a male dominated industry. That's not equality. Maybe the movie just sucked compared to the others that were nominated
The nominations reflected this year's abundance of award-worthy riches. And/or wokeness something something woke. All lazy, weak sauce excuses for denying Gerwig's directing genius and disregarding Robbie's human embodiment of "Stereotypical Barbie" down to her perma-heeled toes. (Oscar nominated) Ryan Gosling- along w/former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton- have had Kenough of the knuckle dragging devotion to "patriarchy and horses". As Gosling said, "There is no Ken w/o Barbie." (Oscar nominated) America Ferrera owned every word, thought, and emotion expressed by her character's memorable, meaningful, and universally relatable Bechtel approved dialogue. Michelle Yeoh was 🎯. The nominations don't make much sense. All of Barbie's nominations rely on Barbie's non-nominated categories. 💕
Oh, grow up. They weren't 'snubbed.' 🙄 Star Wars and all sorts of other big sellers in history were the same, and you only made more because there was nothing else families could see. The movie was cute, but far too preachy in the end, it wasn't that great. Good grief, get over yourselves, ladies.
Yea they got snubbed by lowering the titles to screenplay & picture. She DIRECTED so give her THAT CREDIT! Barbie was the main ACTress! I’m throwing my whole shoe! Not the heel.

Ty for the likes!
Why is Killary Clinton outraged about a snub from a woke movie?
She came, she saw, she DIED of anger about a movie not being nominated at The Oscars 😢! SAD
Hours After Hillary Condemns 'Barbie' Snub, Oscar Statue Found Dead In Apparent Suicide
People around the world are really suffering and people are upset that Barbie wasn't nominated for an Oscar

Barbie isn’t a mainstream blockbuster. It’s just a film that made a lot of money. But it was always intended as an awards contender.

I’d throw you a shoe & not just the heel. Director is more appropriate for the success of this movie than screenplay.

@@joshncalsmommy Well Ryan Gosling unlike Ferreira was actually good is what I was insinuating
They are all talented celebrities
Agreed
Who gives one fuck what Hillary Clinton has to say about anything at this point lol! Serious?

I agree with America, it seems some people are just over looked no matter how hard they try. Barbie is a great 🍿🍿 movie.

Haven't you heard none of them can ya know come to the parties. 😂😂😂😂 That's why ken dumped barbie.
An upsetting movie from this lady's point of view.
Poor celebrities lol like how horrible their lives must be. 🙄🙄🙄

The movie was so stupid. I could only watch 10 min of it and wondered how anyone could watch this piece of crap.
