Thank you for continuing this series of comparisons. I had the revised text of #14 since childhood and have read it numerous times. I purchased the original text off eBay in 2018 after learning about the revision history of this series and have only read it once so far but next time will do a back-to-back read. I am also looking forward to your next comparison review of #15. I will be interested in your description of the ending of the original text of that one!
Happy Easter to you as well! I wondered if anyone else thought about favorite childhood books around this time. I have several that are tied to Easter for various reasons.
@@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader I did get a Hardy book on Easter one year for a gift, but if I can remember it was the Masked Monkey. I can’t think of any story off the top of my head that is around Easter.
Been anticipating this vid for a while, thanks. Regarding Buechler- he hit home runs with Missing Chums and While the Clock Ticked IMO but this one felt more like a single. Looking forward to #15 as I know the two versions are wildly different.
I actually lucked out and found a copy of the secondary cover in The Strand in Manhattan, I really don't think they knew what they had because it was priced $7.50
You can occasionally find bargains on copies with dust jackets but it’s much harder to do than it was years ago. This one is very elusive in good condition because it was changed much more quickly.
@DamnFoolIdealisticCrusader mine actually has the plastic over the jacket, so it was in REALLY good condition, but $7.50 though?!? Another used bookstore called Alabaster on the other side of the block from Strand had two others priced at $15 and $30 respectively, which I thought was more reasonable for OT and again with the plastic over the jacket
There's a variety of options but I've heard the best is usually getting a cover from Broadart or another company and then cutting it to size. I only have ones that came with editions I've bought. I need to look into getting ones for my whole collection of OT editions.
Thanks. I need 15 to 20 books that need mylar coverings. I have all 40 books with sleeves that I need to protect!!. Thank you. Have the complete blue matte editions 1-58....Trying to collect all of the Applewood editions!!!. I paid today 50.00 for the mystery of Cabin Island my favorite.!!!.

Sinister Signpost is really interesting because the plot of the original text basically becomes the subplot of the revised text.
Happy Easter Spencer. The 1st Hardy Boy I ever owned, Flashlight of course. Can’t wait till #15.

@@dougbresky3187 that’s not a bad price for one of the later Applewood editions!
Do you have a h,b. book signed by Leslie McFarland in your wonderful collection!,,
Can you tell me how many Applewood Books of the Hardy Boys were published❤!!!.Thanks.
Just the first 16. After the first six they get increasingly rarer and more expensive.
Thank you so much Spencer!!!!
Why would you want to read that sort of thing. I’ll pass on the updating of old books. Poor children.
You are so right!!.😂.The original s are so much better...If these books are so offensive, people should not read them!!!.Can I get an amen!!!
