@@alwal1751 First not "any business" can. It's easier said than done. Second you don't have to scale a good business to become wealthy. You can open many types single store businesses or a online business and become very wealthy. If you follow my first comment. Sure It helps if you do have a scalable business and scale it. There is no debate. But not all business owners care to do that. And some businesses are too difficult or expensive to easily scale. For example you can become very wealthy owning a well located pizza shop that offers great service, value and good food. Yes scaling it can help you become wealthier at a faster rate if done properly. Think Dominos, Pizza Hut, ect . If done improperly it will make you poorer and in debt faster. Don't think you cannot build great wealth without scaling, because you can.

The small East Texas town where I went to high school, one of the richest guys in town was the junk yard owner. The mistake many junkyards make is just buy the cars, wait for someone to come in and ask for a part, then say they may or may not have it and will either go look or send you to look for it. I once worked for a small junkyard. This guy continued to buy aluminum when it was really cheap. He had a huge pile of the stuff. When the price finally went up he made a medium sized fortune.

That mindset is why you're poor. Scalability is key. If you can buy a salvage car (late model) for $2500, the engine alone will fetch you that much. Then you can sell the transmission, probably for close to the same price. Then the electronic components, like sensors, airbags, stereo, ECM, HVAC control panel, etc. can easily approach several thousand dollars. Then body parts (if they're still in good condition) like fenders, hood, trunk lid, wheels, or interior parts like seats, door panels, trim pieces...it all adds up. $2500 can easily scale to $6000. $3500 in profit multiplied by 500 cars...you do the math. Diversifying inventory will also help: meaning, don't just buy late model cars, don't be afraid to get older cars, they're actually more likely to have a greater demand for parts than newer cars. So why doesn't everyone do it? Show me the average person willing to take out a business loan, likely in the hundreds of thousands, if not over a million, to buy the land needed to store these cars, the tools to dismantle and the warehouse to keep them inventoried, the employees to pay to do all of this, the cost of licensing a business and having to expend all your effort because it's not just a job you can quit.
