put a couple of drops of weatherstrp adhesive on theat gasket to keep it from falling out of position. i use a toothpick to put little dots of it along the handle sometimes when you have a difficult bolt to get to,you cah use a hole saw and put an access hole in the door that the panel will cover later

No Name yes. I was checking here because i broke mine by not being gentle with handle in winter. Now i found this video, i bookmarked it. Shes having door latch on right, sticks open at cold nights.
I have a two door 2003 Accent hatchback. This morning I broke the final and only door latch that was working and I had to take my wife's car to get to work. What a shit system for doors. Imagine you are 50 miles away at a ball game with your kids and 10:30 at night. The game is over and when you leave the last door handle breaks. Hey Hyundai, it's the 2000s. We've been to Mars! Can't you make a safe door handle? Pathetic! Luckily, when the hatchback broke, I put a string on it which hangs outside so I was able to enter through the trunk. I can open the doors from inside. I'll have to keep a window open so I can open the door from the inside. It's going to suck when it rains or snows! I'll be sitting in a wet seat or shoveling out the snow. It's winter on Long Island. I am not working outdoors on this, too cold. This will have to wait until I can buy new handles and the weather breaks a little. Very disappointed with the engineers that design crap like this. Every single door on my car is broken! That means, poor engineering or poor manufacturing. They can't use metal or a stronger plastic? Sure they can! This is why I hate flying. All it takes is one POS poor quality screw from China and it's a long way down screaming with your life passing in front of your eyes! As a matter of fact, it's Feb 23, 2021 and I just saw a story of a jet engine falling apart in the sky due to stress cracks on some metal blade. Thank you for the video. I'm sure it will save me the trouble of learning all this stuff on my own when I finally get around to it. Well done. If you live on Long Island, come fix my two doors to make a new video. I'll hold the camera for you and give you a nice lunch! LOL.... PS, By the way, this was by far the very best video on this procedure. The only improvement would be to get a camera into the inner door chamber which is why I invite you to come fix my doors and and I'll hold the camera for you! :)
